After hearing so much and seeing all the adverts on instagram we had to go. What a huge disappointment the food was awful, the lobster tortellini was dry and unimaginative, ordered the new cote de boeuf to share, MR it was overcooked and dry. Service was mediocre at best and ambience wanting - will not be going back. The only positive was the wine list !
Great food, only 15 people in the whole restaurant and we were told that the lamb option was sold out. Service was great and the food outstanding, shame it lacked ambiance due to lack of people.
Food was absolutely amazing! It was a bit quiet when we went but it just meant we had all the staff to ourselves. Decor is really nice and feels special for date night!
Excellent food served for each course. Wine by the glass was of a high standard. Excellent, modern yet intimate atmosphere.
Food very well priced but the wine makes up for it.
I went to cuvée 8 as it just opened and it was great. I went back recently and it was really bad, food was below average and overpriced, nothing exceptional about the drinks, it was too noisy for the kind of setting you expect for this kind of restaurants and atmosphere was really sad. For £200 dinner for two, I expected much better. Avoid at all cost!!!
Good food and wine served well in a nice environment
My husband and I and another couple ate at CuVee VIII last Friday evening. We were immediately seated in a corner booth in the back of the restaurant which was very nice. We ordered a round of cocktails but my husband wanted a dry gin martini which was not listed on the menu. He politely asked the waitress if he could have said martini, and was in the process of explaining how he wanted it prepared, but was abruptly cut off. It seemed like our waitress was in a rush despite the restaurant being relatively quiet at that time. After drinks we ordered our mains. I will say the food was very good and well prepared but very overpriced. When we finished I asked if I could bring home the remainder of my risotto as did my dinner companion. Our waitress took my companion's plate and walked off. Then, another waiter came over and began clearing the table taking my plate which had my food I wanted to take home and placed the table's dirty utensils and dishes on my plate and walked off. Again, not sure what the rush was or why he was even at our table. Needless to say, I didn't get my leftovers to take home. At the end of our meal we were handed drink/dessert menus and then immediately asked what we wanted. We hadn't even opened the menu yet so we told our waitress we would need a moment. Again, we felt very rushed despite only being there for and hour and 15 minutes at that time. Ultimately we decided not to order desserts and asked for the check. Overall, disappointing experience and an overpriced meal.
Me and my husband had a fabulous lunch here. Excellent food and Wonderful service. Will definitely be back very soon. Thank you very much to the staff who deliver an excellent service

Unexpected surprise for while visiting Esher.Saying a huge compliments to the chef. I enjoyed the lovely wild mushroom soup, amazing steak with all the compliments which satisfied all my taste buds! And thank you to the waiter who served me,very polite and talked me through the menu and helped me deciding what i wanted to eat. 5 star and i would definatley dine here again
This was my second time coming here. As usual the food was lovely. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food which is freshly prepared and well worth it. Everything we ordered had great taste. Along with good collection of drinks and cocktails. Staff was also very polite and supporting. Looking forward to another visit soon.
Second visit, both starters and mains tasty and attentive service. This place it s now our everyday dining place.
We arrived an hour before our table had been booked and were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The Italian bartender had a great knowledge of all the drinks available, and was very professional. We took time to study the very good menu on offer, and one of our party noted that the dish had seen some time ago on the online menu was no longer listed. Our Romanian waiter Adi checked with the chef and came back to tell us that chef was happy to prepare this dish... Food was ordered, all the starters arrived at the same time... just the right amount of time between finishing starters and the main course was with us. Adi was always on hand to supply us refills without being pushy. One of our party had severe food allergies which the staff took very seriously making sure kitchen staff were fully aware.
So many times on a night out it can be spoilt by one tiny thing not being 100% but not at this restaurant. Highly reccomend
Thank you Cuvee8 for last night. My wife and myself enjoyed every aspect of your venue last night.Special thanks for the birthday cake.
Great food, great music, top service, special thanks to Ozel the general manager
This restaurant looks gorgeous from the outside as it is from the inside.Beautiful decor, the manager really nice, throughout all the evening came and made sure we have everything we wanted.Food, vine and service was great.Special thanks to the chef who accepted my request about my tuna salad. We booked their function room for my birthday and now tried the restaurant, both times left grateful.
Special thanks to Ozel the manager, previously visited the place and never had the pleasure of meeting the manager. The Chateaubriand was amazing !!! Our special place to go out for special occasions, the live music just makes it better. Highly recommend
Delicious food and great service. Will definitely be returning soon.
Before going with my wife I was worried about this place due to bad reviews. From our arrival the general manager Ozel was polite and invited to our table. Homemade bread and butter was amazing,we had the mussels starter and the filet steak for mains. Mussels really tasty and fresh, the addition of garlic ciabatta it s a nice touch, fillet steak was perfect. After lunch I asked the manager why this place has so many bad reviews because it makes no sense, the service and food was up to London restaurants. His answer was diplomatic and polite, former manager malicious game to destroy the reputation of the restaurant. I will definetley return. Recommend this venue because after having lunch here I truly understand it s nothing to worry about those inappropriate reviews that I was reading before I visited.
It was the first time that we spent a big amount of money for dinner, having two main courses and a bottle of wine and they didn't even ask us if we wanted dessert. It seems that they wanted us to leave as soon as possible, so they can use the restaurant's personnel to the bar area. Huge disappointment...
We asked for the festive menu and I was told that it was not available. There was little choice left and what we chose being the fish was dry, tasteless and smelt funny. Needless to say I couldn’t eat it. It is over priced for what you get.
Good morning madame/sir, We dont deny our guest the festive menu. The fish it s bought in from fishmarket on a daily basis Best regards
We paid a lot of money for a meal that wasn’t worth the bill. Food is just ok and nothing different to the Wheatsheaf pub down the road. The place is nice but nothing else is different to the other pubs in the area. The manager was extremely rude and was after our personal details. Very rude and no manners
Good morning madame/sir Thank you for your review, may i ask if the food was oki and the same like in any other pub where you eat in the are,why would you give just 1 stars? The prices are not expensive, the only difference it s the price of the prime cut,or premium products that we are using from local farmers and fishmarkets. Best regards
Excellent evening with family. Food and drink were superb. Would definitely recommend it.
Good morning, Thank you for the kind rewiev. We always make sure we give 100% to all our customers Best regards
Disorganised chaos - one of my worse experiences. Staff arguing between them, the food was cold and inedible (when it finally arrived after a 50 minute wait). There seemed to be just no control or competent management to rectify the the situation.
Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your feedback regarding your recent experience at Cuvee8. I appreciate you taking the time to write your review. We haven't had any this kind of situation happening in our restaurant as we had a private function on this date(13.12.2019) Must be a mistaken with other place. Thank you and looking forward seeing you soon. The Cuvee8 Team
Great venue for a Wednesday evening and a large group. Lovely large bar area with seating, dining area plush and spacious. Very good selection of fizz and wine by the glass including several English sparkling wines. I had steak, it was cooked perfectly and tasty. Accompaniments were a good size. Definitely recommend this place.
This venue looks impressive from the outside, however upon entering the music volume was more akin to a nightclub.
We started with a couple of coctails at the bar. These were well made and very good, albeit at £11 a drink. We then went for the a la carte menu. We had considered the tasting menu but was told this was no longer offered (despite being on the website), perhaps this was due to the festive season and some large parties attending.
Service was good and attentive. We had a number of wines by the glass, which were good examples of their stock. The food was overall average, and only a modest menu selection offered. The starters were interesting and a little different to usual fare. My main was nothing extraordinary, and the side of truffle mash was over powering; more truffle than mash. Pudding was not exciting.
3 course dinner for 2, including 2 coctails and 4 glasses of wine by the glass, £150. I would not choose to go there again, there will be better places for those prices.
Food was ok but nothing outstanding
Chips with Parmesan ...just chips with some Parmesan grated over it?? Menu needs to be reviewed
Extremely poor service
Waiting staff extremely overwhelmed with five tables
The wait for the drinks was 30 minutes
The experience felt rushed
Food was ok but not a great of choice
Staff in pizza express are more attentive
This restaurant has a long way to go to improve it's service. Food was lovely and plentiful. Premises were clean and inviting, style was a mix of the 1920s meets French burlesque. The singer was also very entertaining and professional.
However, a catalogue of basic service errors spoilt the evening. Especially for my friend for whom the waitress had a blind spot. Missed twice for a wine top-up, had her wine poured into her water glass (with water in it) followed immediately by more water being attempted to be poured into the same glass, before we stopped her. After the main course the waitress did not bring the same friend a desert menu. At which point we complained. The manager who was very apologetic, offered free deserts as compensation which we accepted; although we were not going to have a desert as we were full. To reduce the tension we ordered Creme brûlées. The waiter then brought a cigar box over to offer a selection of chocolate slivers, and knocked the wine all over us. Accident, yes, but absolutely unacceptable. We asked for the bill and a taxi to be ordered. We paid and waited. After 20 minutes asked where the taxi was to be told no one had ordered one! By now fuming. Don't recommend unless you are into disaster evenings.
I’ve dined in fine dining restaurants before and this certainly is by far NOT fine dining. The food was not great, the staff were rude and the service was poor. It’s a shame because it could be a nice venue if these things were addressed.
We had a lovely evening at Cuvee. The staff were very polite and professional. Great atmosphere and decor. Top London restaurant quality, without paying London prices. The food was excellent, in particular the fillet steak. We went to the bar area after dinner where there was a great buzz and live singer. He had everyone singing along to his amazing repertoire. We will definitely go back for more fun.
Really enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairing. Great way to mark an occasion and not something easily found outside of London. Food was a good standard and it was great to meet the chef and hear about their plans.
Bar food unavailable and very little choice. Really gone downhill since I last went there in September
Not as good as previous visits. Limited menu choice for non meat eaters and server not familiar enough with the menu. Such a shame as we've had great meals here before.
The food was superb. The heavy autumn menu ticked a box for each and everyone of us (4 dining),complimented by an extensive wine selection and a knowledgable sommelier. However the noise and the terrible live singer from the associated bar put a huge dampner on the evening.
Very poor service. Lots of staff doing nothing but standing around talking to each other. Food is no more than ok, but not worth it for the very high price. Trying to be a central London high end restaurant and failing miserably.
As a vegetarian I was really disappointed in the veggi selection, there was one dish and it was pretty much just a plate of roasted vegetables. We had a drink (which was lovely) and left
Service was really good though just disappointed in the very limited menu. I asked if they could make me a pasta dish instead and was told no. We had an early booking and there was only one other couple in there so they were not busy at that time
Would I recommend cuVee to a friend? If they eat meat then yes as it's a great space, staff very polite and helpful they just need to put a bit more thought into their vegetarian selection
We had a great evening. The food, wine and general ambiance was excellent.
We had a table for 4 on Saturday night although we were a little dissapointed at not being able to have the tasting menu as we were late sitting down and hadn’t preordered they more than made up for it with the main menu the food was absolutely delicious as were the drinks.
Service was excellent and the ambience great especially the live singer at the end of the evening . Would highly recommend if you are looking for excellent food great drinks and entertainment .
On arrival the staff were very attentive and helpful, had a drink at the bar before we sat down and the service and food were excellent. Would recommend to anyone
