    Our cauliflower was wonderful. Our salad was great. My friend loved her PCF chicken. I had the oxtail gnocchi and it was almost too rich. Also stringy and not like oxtail I have had in the past at home or other places. Not bad but different.

    We had the meatballs appetizer, which was amazing! Then we couldn’t decide between what our table next to us had, the bolognese with burrata, and the 30 layer lasagna so we got both. So delicious. We will definitely be back but we’ll make an earlier reservation. Ours was at 815 and we felt rushed thru our desserts since they close at 930.

    I had 6 friends in to celebrate a milestone birthday last night at my home place, Dante. As usual, the food was beyond exceptional. Marcus our server was attentive, efficient and gracious as always. Adam Weber, the GM and sommelier, was a consummate host, providing lovely managerial touches throughout the entire meal. Chef/ owner Nick Strawhecker is still running the classiest, NYC/ LA level restaurant in Omaha. Thank you to the whole staff for an outstanding evening.

    Dante will give you beautiful presentation and flavor. It's a small menu but satisfactory in its variety. Servers and management are very attentive. The venue is nothing spectacular - think Italian cafe - relaxed, unpretentious, and open. Their list of Italian wines is significant and their knowledge of them is impressive.

    We attended the wine dinner with Francesca Biscardo of Emilia Romagna. The food that Nick and his team created was fabulous, and the wine pairings were really good and quite affordable. All in all a great evening!

    In the past, I have had nothing but great service and food at Dante. Tonight was not such a night. First thing, they were out of the main dish I wanted to order, so I switched gears and ordered pizza. Next ,the pizza my son ordered was not as described by the waiter. The drink orders were very slow, even a glass of wine too 15 minutes. When my beer arrived, it was the wring one, but I was halfway through my pizza so I drank it. The pizza was not hot, more like luke warm, like it had been sitting out for 10+ minutes. Dante needs to step it up. The pizza game in Omaha is so good right now. I probably won't be going back.
