Darley's Restaurant at Lilianfels Blue Mountains
Menu choice very limited and portion size small. The food quality overall was excellent though. We were seated upstairs where there was little ambience unlike the charming, original house area of downstairs.
The whole experience at Darleys was superb. The staff, the service, the food and the restaurant setting were all just perfect.
The whole experience - from the decor, to the service, to the food itself - was superb. A wonderful evening out in a beautiful location. Highly recommended!
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience Great care taken with the food Taking something as simple as carrots and making it into something so delicious is credit to their skills Looking forward to returning when next in that area
Excellent, exquisite restaurant, must be on your bucket list
Food excellent but portions are ridiculously small. One shouldn't leave a dinner hungry, particularly given the expense of the meal.
Darley’s was one of The reasons for our travel to Katoomba and it was definitely the highlight of our trip. We came with our 2.5 years old and the staff were extremely helpful and lovely. They even arranged for us to have a private room so we didn’t need to feel like bothering other guests. The food was top notch and couldn’t fault a thing. The beef was the most tender ones that we’ve ever tasted. We definitely come back in our next travel.
Lovely food though mains would benefit from the addition of vegetable side dishes. Great service and a beautiful room.
We dined here for our anniversary. The food was superb, and as a coeliac, I was well catered for with gluten free options for the entire menu that still gave me a great choice. The staff were knowledgeable and we were very happy with our experience.
Good vegan options, although would have liked some carbs as it was all vegetables. Cauliflower steak was amazing and the coconut sorbet with fennel was creative.
Excellent service and beautiful venue - well worth the effort.
Lovely decor and ambiance backed up with delicious food.
The food was excellent - however the servings were very small compared to other fine dining restaurants.
My serving of fish was not much bigger than a fish finger!
Beautiful place, nice food and the staff are friendly too.
The customer service on the phone in the lead up was a nightmare. No one returned my calls or emails and was disappointed the menu had been changed to a set three course even thought we had booked before this came into effect. Restaurant staff lovely.
Spectacular restaurant. We’ve been there 3 times now and it never disappoints.
I booked my table two weeks in advance, we were one of the first guests to arrive and were given the worst table in house! Waiter really did not want to be there! Entre was Pastrami Beetroot which was 5 very thin slices of beetroot probably from the tin that was marinated, not much cooking involved as well as there were not much to eat! Main and Desert were OK but nothing to be excited about! Tea and coffee was offered to us after we had desert! No side dishes! Vine List incredibly overpriced! Will not go back in a hurry and will not recommend to anyone !
The food was incredible - particularly the toothfish! Service was pretty good - a little slow at times. It was a pity that we were seated next to a very loud couple who had a little too much to drink which disturbed the atmosphere.
We have eaten at Darleys 3 times now and love it every time. Absolutely delicious food and beautiful location.
Food portions are too small. I've been to multiple fine dining restaurants and have always been full but not at Darley's.
Food ok, wine on.
Amazing service in a beautiful restaurant.
If two people, ask for a table near the fireplace for dinner.
I have visited this restaurant serval times over the past 10 years. It is still good however it’s certainly not as good as it used to be nor does it have the same vibe. Used to have a fantastic bar tender who was a mixologist- he was great so much fun. We had such a great time last time that we thought we would come again. However the staff are now very serious some even seemed stressed. No sense of humour.
The food was good but not great. Used to have a fantastic chefs and the food was memorable. I feel there may be a change of management along with Lilanfels. Certainly not as good as it used to be. However the decore is Still fantastic !
A lovely experience. Beautiful food, impeccable service, gorgeous location
Everything was very good except one thing: portions.
Now, I understand it is a fine dining and I am not expected to get out of this place full.
But seriously, at least after leaving the restaurant I should not feel like i need to step in another restaurant.
Delicious food, ok.... but two, and I mean two small pieces of wagyu beef are not enough.
Darleys is rather old world, comfortable, quiet, tables well spaced. The service is efficient and friendly. They have a limited but good wine list and the food is excellent. The menu is not yet back to pre Covid levels but there was enough choice of interesting dishes. The wagyu beef was perfect. A very good evening out after months of lockdown!
Was good without being brilliant. Only 3 course menu available. Maybe just an off night, but was a little dissapointed after reading such great reviews.
good food, but food and wine overpriced. Their mark up is 3 times the value of wine
Service was excellent, with special thanks to Ashe for looking after us very well. However, the food could've been better...it was okay but there was no "WOW!" moment.
Service and attention from all staff was fantastic. Food was beautifully presented and couldn't fault the five dishes.
Thank you for a wonderful evening
The 5 course degustation offering on Saturday night was superb. A gorgeous balance between across the whole menu. We elected not to take the matching wines but still enjoyed a delicious selection with the assistance of our waiter. This is one of the most special places to dine in the Blue Mountains. Coupled with our stay at the Lilianfels hotel (of which this restaurant forms part), it was a very delightful evening.
the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the food is outstanding, well worth the price.
Best food I've ever eaten. Service by staff second to none, extremely attentive and knowledgeable. I can't wait to go back again, I couldn't fault.
Very elegant and excellent service food was exquisite!
Great food and great service. From the moment you enter the premises until you leave. Food is fantastic!
Outstanding food. The best restaurant in NSW? Quite possibly. Great service Ashe
Fantastic service, Ash was amazing & helpful, beautiful surroundings, food was fantastic, but quiet slow coming out of kitchen, considering it was a set menu
Enjoyed our night but finishing & leaving app 11pm made for a very late night driving home / 1 1/2 hr drive home, 30 to 40 mins between courses to long 😔but a beautiful night overall
Wonderful waiter, great view. The wait between courses was way TOO SLOW! We were waiting for over an hour between no 2 and 3 courses. Extra bread rolls did not appear untill a waiter finally appeared. They obviously forgot my cocktail as it was over 30 minutes I had to wait and then remind them. For a booking at 7pm to not received sweets until around 10pm is not good. We only had a small lunch in anticipation of dinner. We had eaten at Darley's 3.5 years ago and enjoyed it a lot more.
We were placed at a table that arguably should not exist at a restaurant of this calibre because it backs onto
the station where wine is opened and glasses exchanged and has a wonderful view of the carpark and passing traffic! The placement of this table ensures that passing staff ignore you and it took 15 minutes to
attract a member of staff to make a request and then when someone finally recognised our existence our request was ignored until they had cleared two more tables.
The food was very good as always, but beware the table they give you.
An amazing dining experience - the multiple courses of food (with vegan options), the wine and the exceptional service by Ashe. Would definitely recommend
Beautiful location! Amazing food and we could not fault the service!. Ashe was particularly attentive and was happy help in any way he could.
Excellent service by Ashe throughout the night - likable and knowledgeable. Great wine pairings with the very creative cuisine - that creativity meant a couple of dishes were a little hit an miss, but overall an amazing degustation. The Wagyu beef was by far my favourite. Setting was nice and quiet for a romantic evening out even if the decor was a little colonial/austere for us. Highly recommended!
Probably the best dining experience so far during our trip to Australia (out of 6 fine dining evenings). The front of house staff were amazing and the chef was personable, generous and engaging.
The 7 course tasting menu was well balanced, well Portioned and bursting with flavour. The wines were exceptionally well paired and the evening was enhanced by the waiting staff.
