Waiting to celebrate again at Davenports once life gets back to normal. Stay Safe Everyone.
Always the best food and atmosphere. Alex is the best waitress! No one is better.
It just keeps getting better and better. Great owners, great staff, great food !!! Our favorite all around restaurant. Friends from Pacific Palisades meet us there all the time.
Surprised with all that is going on they were still very busy so be sure to make a reservation. Food and service are always good and very consistent. Parking easy and available and soon patio dining will soon be available.
Positively fabulous - my new favorite place. Do not miss!
One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Good for business lunches or for nice dinners.
I ate there three times in one week. Two times for lunch, once for dinner. Each time was a pleasant experience and I'd recommend it heartily and plan to go back after the corona plague ends...
Food exceeded expectations, especially the smoked trout dip - phenomenal. Bread basket is sublime and wait staff is perfect. They opened a bottle of 10-year old wine that I brought with me and the cork had broken. The waiter strained it and decanted it without being asked.
My only "complaint" with the food was the sauce on the seafood linguini dish - too heavy and masked the quality/quantity of the seafood. Could have used half the amount of sauce and some added lemon juice (which is how I ate my leftovers!) The fried chicken sandwich might benefit from a spicier sauce (or hot mustard or horseradish sauce on the side).
Thanks Davenport's and I look forward to dining there again.
Service was very good. Food was probably very good, but I experimented with an impossible burger which wasn’t very good. Probably not the restaurants fault. But way too expensive for what was delivered.
Davenport’s was my favorite restaurant but I have to say my last two visits, both within the last 30 days, haven’t been satisfactory. On my last visit I ordered the “prime” New York steak and it was very tough and my wife had the prime rib which was over cooked. I complained about the steak and and they gladly replaced it with the skirt steak which had a sauce I didn’t care for. On my previous visit I ordered the John Dory and it was a very small portion that was grossly overcooked and the waiter never came by to ask how our meal was. I’ve had great meals at Davenport’s in the past and have recommended it to all my friends and I was willing to forgive one bad meal but the second one in a row has me questioning what’s going on there.
As usual our dining experience at Davenports was exceptional. The servers were friendly, polite and professional, the food was excellent and those awesome pretzel bread sticks are amazing! I have to say that there is nothing negative to be said about this place, how many other restaurant owners personally greet their guests with a smile?
No disappointments here my friends - two thumbs up!
beautiful decor - we sat inside. Indirect lighting, subdued and peaceful. Professional server who always asked if we were ready and quickly offered to come back.
Salad was big and miso glazed chilean seabass was fab.
Usually love the food, I had the special white fish, didn’t like it 😟
Always enjoy a wonderful dinner at Davenport's. The service, atmosphere and food quality is excellent.
Excellent food and service. We loved the Parmesan crusted Jidori chicken breasts. So glad you provide options like peas, veggies or spinach to accompany entree. Bread & butter were delicious. Please keep that wonderful policy, first bottle of wine has no corkage fee, which will keep us coming back. Huge tasty portions. Parking validated. Beautiful restaurant!
As always meal was excellent
And service was impeccable. Just a perfect local spot, outdoor on the patio or indoor on cooler days and evenings. No pretense but be sure to use Open Table to make a reservation. They are almost always full.
Nice lunch on the patio. Food was good They brought my friend a huge chocolate brownie Sundae for her Birthday!
Our server, Jason, was great. Nigel Davenport and his father were friendly and engaging.
Typically a good place but service has declined. Good help is tough to find these days.
Best restaurant in LA!! Treat everyone like they are special!!
My favorite restaurant in the area. The owner (Carl) is always so personable & friendly. He really knows how to welcome & treat his guests. Service is top notch. The food is always on point. I was bummed they got rid of my favorite dish - the Southwestern Skirt Steak but they replaced it with a Chimichurri Skirt Steak which was equally as delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Prime rib was not good
Great food great server just seated next to a loud party couldn’t hear myself speak overall it was great
Food was not as good as it usually is. Maybe the regular chef was out.
Delightful and delicious lunch. The steak salad exceeded my expectations. Sales’s an attentive server.
Nice out doors dinner. Good service considering outdoors service.
Great food and service. Drinks were perfect. Highly recommended.
Phenomenal dining experience with excellent seafood comparable to what my wife and I have enjoyed on our trips up the coast.
Only negative was a table for two was kind of small (especially since we indulged in a few appetizers).
My girlfriend and I went there for our valentines dinner. The food and the drinks were excellent. Our appetizers and food came out fast. The service was outstanding our waitress kept checking in on us if we were ok and how our drinks were. Would definitely recommend this my girlfriend and I will definitely keep going back
First time going after hearing very good reviews from friends. It was 2 adults and 2 kids. Great menu and drinks. They have kids options not listed so just ask for them. Dinner specials had oysters plus prime rib. Def. try their lobster bites. Wow. Not too pricy either. Was very busy which is to be expected on Sat. night so make reservation. Will go back again.
Great location close to the house but for a very cool intimate Valentine’s Day dinner a local gem for the Valley
This was the first time we have been here and it will not be the last time. The food was great.
We had a valentines luncheon on the 14th and everything was perfect. Our waiter Sal was very nice and helpful on making our choices. Our table was outside and very comfortable. We will definitely return for another meal. Thanks. Carol
Great service in an upscale yet comfortable space. Food was good and we enjoyed our dinner but nothing extraordinary, especially for the price. Nice night out in the neighborhood.
Our Valentine’s dinner, my wife and me, and we really enjoyed our first visit here. Delicious food and attentive staff members. Carl the owner stopped by and made sure we were satisfied. Great ambience and really tasty food. Worth the slightly higher $ for the meal and the environment. Really the only place like it in the west valley area.
Food and ambience good! Service could have been better.
I regret that I cannot recommend Davenport's. I sense lots of good intentions, and the physical space and the service are lovely. I know for a fact that the owner and the management envision great dining for this restaurant -- and really care about achieving it. But -- we have been three times; we are experienced and discriminating diners; and the simple fact is that the food is just not prepared very well. A higher standard needs to be applied in the kitchen. I hope that happens, because this restaurant has all the right qualities - absent only the most important one - exceptional culinary skill.
My husband and I love Davenport's. The food is predictably god and the wait staff are always friendly and attentive. The decor is upscale. We are so happy to have such a wonderful restaurant in the Valley.
Wonderful service and after our late lunch, there was nobody trying to rush us out. As always, wonderful food and service.
this is visit #2. What a great place. The food, the service, ambiance, and the overall value! They have a nice selection of oysters, great steaks and have enjoyed pork chop as well. I would highly recommend!
