   The food is fantastic and makes up for the bad service. I do get it was busy however staff talking about customers who where rude to them over serving customers who where there. 20mins to have a drink order taken isn’t really on especially serving a table that has arrived after us first.

   Table service was too gushy. Was asked if I wanted to see the dessert menu while I was still eating my main course, also the waiter didn’t know what comprised the meal I was interested in which made me wonder that his training wasn’t very good

   At a glance it seems a little expensive, but the food was good quality and portion sizes were generous so the price I think is fair. However service could have been better. We ordered starters which for some reason came out at the same time as our mains. One member of the group ordered a drink and rather than tell us it was unavailable or ask if we would like an alternative, they simply brought a different drink out. We were happy to leave a small tip as the waitress was polite and friendly however not sure the service received merited the mandatory 10% service charge given the overall total of our bill. Overall though would recommend as the food is good.

   Our daughter who lives 4 hours away booked this for me it was a lovely meal would go there again. Probably try an evening ,meal during the spring or summer. Even when we go to taunton shopping it's a nice place to have a meal

   We came for Mother’s Day, overall, quite a nice experience. Thought it was good value for money. Me and mum shared a mezze board which was very tasty and perfect for lunch. Only things that could be improved is that we had to ask for plates to eat the board, and the restaurant was quite chilly ! Service wise, they all seemed very friendly and happy to help.

    Great food, but woefully under-staffed for a Saturday. We walked in and having interacted with the waiting staff, we immediately felt stressed. I appreciate you need to turn a profit, and I also appreciate that good staff are currently difficult to come by, but you needed at least two more waiting staff for the busy Saturday lunchtime rush. People were walking out while you had empty tables. Saying that, the food was lovely and once everyone had calmed down, the ambience was very nice. Staff it right and you have a great little restaurant here.

    Tried this new restaurant in Taunton and had a good experience. Welcomed on arrival, place fresh, light and very clean. Menu choices good and the lamb rump was excellent. Plenty of wines by the glass. All in all a good welcome addition to the limited eating venues in this town.

    The food was very nice, the food was as expected. The drinks not so good. Very difficult to have a white wine spritz with Lemon lemonade. Vodka lime and soda is a no and the cocktails where not very good. Had a espresso martini it was basically coffee, no richness to the drink. I totally understand that money is an issue for all businesses at the moment. But you have no draft soft drinks and the cans you offer aren’t the norm. Unfortunately this has put us of returning. We like to meet up a couple times a month, it would have been nice to have a new venue to visit. Hope this has been useful to you…

    Went for breakfast full English £10 it was tasty but it was not very warm at all mushroom cold did let them know. For three people I did think it was expensive meal but the service was good . Music was very loud so could do with being turned down so people can chat

    We didn't eat. Waited ages to order. Could only order from bar. Staff not very friendly or welcoming. Table not level, so one full glass of wine literally slid off onto the floor. I then bought another glass of wine, so cost over £30 for 3 glasses of wine!!!! Exorbitant!!!!! One waitress, when we told her about the table, did bring us another complimentary glass of wine. The friend I was with had highly recommended The Deckhouse, although said it was expensive. I wasn't at all impressed & wouldn't go again, sadly.

    Lovely food but felt rushed to leave. We still had food on our plates and they came over wanting to clear the table. Also there are no times on the menus. Brunch is only served till 11.30am but this isn’t printed anywhere.

    The food was beautiful and the vibe was lovely, but the service was very very very slow - by the time the main course was brought over an hour after I had ordered, my appetite had gone. Service aside, a wonderful experience, thank you :)

    Table booked 2 weeks before for 5 people. On arrival table not set up, general confusion as to where we were seated. All staff seemed inexperienced and uninterested. Seated upstairs freezing as AC on. Food overpriced for quality. Lamb cutlets meal - meagre portion hardly any veg and the potatoes were definitely aunt Bessie’s. Service poor, staff unable to understand English. Dessert completely overpriced hence we did not have. All in all a terrible experience. Would not return and would not recommend.

    We have tried several times to get into the Deckhouse without a booking, and each time we’ve rudely been told we need to book online. This maybe had our expectations raised thinking that if it is so busy it must be great, however… not so much. The decor looks so lush and inviting from outside with all the beautiful greenery etc. this is where the beauty ended though. The table we were seated at was like sitting at a kid sized table and chairs, they were incredibly uncomfortable. I am 6 foot 1 and felt like I sat there the entire time with my knees wrapped around my neck. When we asked the older woman that looked to be the maitre de if there was another more adult sized table we could move to, got very flustered, kept looking around, apologising and wringing her hands but could only offer the solution that they were extending upstairs soon… I hope they have better furniture up there! We were seated near the front door so that every time it opened there was a rush of freezing air that seemed to come through the cracks in the closed door we were seated in front of. Our waitress was very abrupt and seemed to be on another planet, however the really tall chap with the earring spacer from the bar was fantastic. The coffee was delicious, hot and served in lovely cup. However, my food was not great. I had the cheese and beef burger. The chips were stone cold, the salad (read:lettuce) in the burger was warm and wilted and the bun so dry I only ate half of it. The burger itself was extremely well done, but I am not going to complain about that because that is the way I like it. If my partner had had it though they would have found it inedible. My partner’s half chicken was apparently very tasty and the chips delicious. All in all it was not a great experience we were expecting more and I wouldn’t go back in a hurry.

    Great food. Not so great service. I made it clear in the online booking that children would be attending and requested a high chair. The second we walked in, we were made to feel like we were a burden. We asked if there was a child’s menu and the waitress said ‘No, I’ll tell you what you can have and what you can’t for your child’. There was no high chair so had to ask for one. The food did make up for it overall and the restaurant itself looks great. Perhaps we caught the waitress on a bad day.

    Booked online and was asked what the occasion was… Date so they sat us amongst large groups it was very noisy, the service was terrible, we were asked if we wanted water twice but none appeared as they ran out of jugs! We ordered drinks and olives and after waiting ages without our drinks they came back to take our food order , rushed, poor service, badly organised and the food was over cooked and average

    The man who waited for us was nice and resourceful, I booked it way before and had requested for certain things, my table was not ready when I arrived also we didn’t get what we requested for . Food was okay ,the margarita (cocktail ) I ordered was terrible. I was so bad very disappointing. The place is not worth for second visit unless they change certain aspects. The waiter was kind and helpful.

    Our visit was enjoyable. We had to wait 15 minutes to place our orders my wife wanted sea bass but there was none available, We had to wait another 25 minutes for the food to be served. We had no time left for dessert and I really like desserts.

    Very disappointing this time after returning from an earlier visit. Table was not ready for almost 15 minutes after the booked time. Could not provide one of the meals ordered as they had ran out, cold food, long wait for food to be served. Staff were friendly and very apologetic. Very slow service which was probably due to under staffing.
