We sat in the second seating for their Thanksgiving meals. Our servers were attentive and pleasant and we enjoyed talking with them.
The food was, overall, acceptable. Our one signature popover was overbaked and inedible. The other muffin and bread were fair. The shrimp and kale ... appetizer(?) ... was unnecessary and irrelevant.
The relish tray was tasty, but nothing memorable. The soup was quite good, but we did not finish it as it was rich and filling.
The salad was acceptable; the polenta croutons were unappetizing.
The entrees, however, were outstanding. The family style sides clashed with our entrees and were left untouched. We would have been perfectly content with well-baked signature popovers, soup, and our entrees (for a lower price, of course).
The desserts were decent ... and there's not much more to say beyond that.
I suspect that, for a non-holiday meal, Delaney's is outstanding, based on the quality of our entrees. However, we would not do another holiday event based on this experience. Our "yes" to a recommendation should be taken in this context.
Great service great food.clean and comfortable. Worth every cent- the only thing I would have changed would be slower paced as far as apps and entree being served.
Phil was extremely attentive and personable.
Please do again for Easter!!!
Great food, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere
The Thanksgiving dinner with multiple courses could have fed four, but there was just two of us. Plenty left to take home. Excellent.
Food was fabulous as usual. Loved the courses, nicely paced, never felt rushed. All the staff were attentive without being intrusive.
The menu can be improve. Overall, service was great. Complementary drinks is always a win win.
Never had a bad meal, have been to many functions at the Delaney house and the Log cabin, including holidays, and themed nights. Service is great as well.
This is the first time have had dinner at the Delaney House and everything was better than I expected
Service was excellent, food was delicious with a good variety
The room where we had dinner was very nice and quiet
We celebrated our 59th wedding Anniv, and liked the Library room next to the fireplace at a table for two. The food was good except the string beans were hard and not cooked enough. I was also disappointed with the LOBSTER CRABCAKE1 It had no taste and was the size of a small onion ring. It was not worth $6.50!! Otherwise we totally enjoyed the atmosphere and service and will come next year if we make it that long! Also, we are reserving the Library room, next to the fireplace, table for 2!!
Great ffor birthday events...
Making reservations was ok ...
Followed up quickly...
We were running late but we called and treated nice on the phone.
We were seated promptly once we arrived.
The food was good.
We love dining at the Delaney House and have for the last seven years on our anniversary (we do make it other times as well). My wife has a gluten allergy and the menu provides a lot of variety for celiac and gluten sensitive individuals.
This is the first time we have been there since the COVID restrictions have been in place. I found everything to be just a bit off their normal standard but still well above average. The food is superb and plentiful, although they have cut out the chop chop salad that used to be included. I was also slightly disappointed regarding a significant upcharge for a substitution of sides ($2/substitution).
The service was fantastic, Miranda did a fabulous job of ensuring we were taken care of. Understandably, the usual relaxed 2 hour meal was no longer practical as they must move people through more quickly to ensure they keep the business profitable. However noticeable this was, we were in no way rushed.
The ambiance of the old Delaney House is missing as there are minimal decorations and the tables are bare until customers are seated. Again, this is unfortunate but understandable. Overall, our meal and experience at the Delaney House was good. We will continue to be regular patrons of this establishment and will always recommend the place to anyone seeking a high quality dining experience.
Everything was perfect, food was outstanding and our waitress was excellent.
Great food as always. Staff is always great when we have gone as well. There was live music so that was a nice bonus. COVID precautions seemed to be taken seriously.
Everything was just great! Plus we really liked the live music in the Lounge area.
Everything about our family birthday dinner was great. Our server was very professional and attentive to our needs, she did an amazing job. The whole experience and all the staff made the experience amazing.
Two things that stand out and made the evening even better were one, the staff put candles on the desserts of the birthday girls without being asked to.
Second, the protocols and attention to details in helping keep everyone safe during covid was great. Everything was clean and neat and the staff did things I have not seen done at any other restaurant to keep the guests as well as the staff safe.
They have a wonderful plant based menu as well as their regular menu, the food was delicious.
Sunday Brunch at Delaney Grill was wonderful! Very pleased by the extra measures put into place for the safety of the guests. We were seated in a corner table in front of the fireplace. It was a lovely and romantic setting for my husband's birthday celebration! We actually prefer the sit down 3 course brunch from the menu, as opposed to the buffet. The selections we chose: Filet Mignon with Eggs/Eggs Benedict with all the many fixings, were well executed and tasted delicious!
Holly was the perfect server and very attentive to us, in every way! We'll definitely return in the future!
Highly recommended! Was a great place and very quiet!
The food was great I had shepherds pie my husband had pork belly for appetizer it’s a very generous potion and he had the lamb chops over mashed potatoes and a side of green beans. We also took home a chicken pot pie for lunch the next day it was amazing made with corn chicken peas and sweet potatoes yummy I asked for no onion all they made it perfect. We will definitely be back soon.
We have been going to the Mick for years. The food and service is always good. They have great menu options and comfort food.
We arrived early at 5 pm, first guests seated. I ordered the "special" filet mignon, cooked medium rare. I was congratulated that I had ordered the last serving of the special (we were the first guests to order). Huh?
The steak arrived 20 minutes later and it was well, well, well, well done. I objected and the promptly agreed to redo the order (wasn't it the last serving of the special?). Huh?
The redone steak arrived a few minutes later and it didn't even look like a filet mignon, it looked more like a top sirloin. I cut into it and it was at least medium if not medium well. I objected again and they took the poorly cooked steak away and didn't offer to take another order. They "graciously" agreed to remove the charge from my bill (as if I'm going to pay for food I didn't eat).
DON'T EAT HERE!
We requested outside dining but the heater on the outside patio was not working so we were seated in a large tent area in a special dining venue for parties. We we very happy to be seated in this area because the temperature outside was only 40 degrees. I think most people decided not to request outside dining because of the low temperature. The dining area we ate in was very large and had an opening in the tent area to allow fresh air from the outside to enter the tent. The food was good on the most part and the waiter Tom was excellent. The manager came out to check that everything was fine. We will positively come back during the winter months.
Such a great place for brunch! Will be going back again soon!
The food was perfectly portioned and very delicious. It was a nice quite and enjoyable meal for a date, time with friends or Anniversary celebration.
We had an amazing date night. Our server was incredible. During the whole visit we felt very safe and the whole restaurant was taking covid precautions. The food was piping hot and one of the best meals we’ve had in a very long time. Highly recommend!
I was very disappointed..you shouldn't advertise the mick if it's gone! everything that looked good on the menu is gone.....then the waitress started taking care a large party and for got about us!!aweful!
I apologize we are currently changing our marketing to just The Delaney House, but it takes time. The Mick and Grill have the same menu which is a hybrid of the two menus. We still have the casual and formal dining areas available. I am sorry you did not enjoy your experience here. If you would like to reach out to me offline we can discuss and hopefully make it up to you. Peter Rosskothen-Owner 413-532-1800 ext 102
Great food although music in the Mick is a bit loud. Our server, Bonnie was wonderful
We had delicious meals and appetizers were really good.
To expensive..40$ meal per person..way over priced.
Thank you for your honest feedback. I would like some more detail on your review of service and ambience. For the price we do expect top notch service. Please call me to discuss further. Peter Rosskothen-Owner 413-532-1800 ext. 102
Ate at the Delany Grill. The food was delicious and my wife's Eggplant Parm was enormous. The service was very very good. Our waitress was attentive and did not rush us at all.
Awesome dinner! Very good service! Kevin was spot on. Great to get out during this covid nonsense.
The place is very dated and the food was mediocre at best. The risotto was clumpy and dry. The sea scallops were tough. The restauaraunt feels like a large banquet hall from the 1990s and not particularly appealing.
On the bright side the service was excellent and the waiter was superb.
Glad you had great service, sad you didn't like your food. We would love for you to give us another shot. Please call me to discuss! Peter Rosskothen-Owner 413-532-1800 ext. 102
The food and service is usually very good at the Delaney House. The Friday night that we went was busier than the last time we went so the service was slower than we expected.
For the past three years we have been setting up a Anniversary get together with our 2 daughters and their husband s, to celebrate their anniversary because they are both in the month of October. This year I was disappointed with the arrangement. The table was to small for six people and a couple of the meals were no satisfactory. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
So sorry you were disappointed. We would love some more feedback on the meals you did not enjoy. Please reach out to me so we can make it right. Peter Rosskothen-Owner 413-532-1800 ext. 102
Wasn’t a fan of the food .
Can you call me and give me more specifics on what you did not like? We can only improve by hearing the bad. I am sorry you did not enjoy your experience with us. Peter Rosskothen-Owner 413-532-1800 ext.102
Started off with the Coconut Shrimp and they were amazing and a nice portion size. Next was the chop chop salad which was huge - so fresh and so many flavors it was truly delicious. Main course was the Gorgonzola Steak that was absolutely delicious. Cooked just right and served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Never have any room left to try a dessert but I's certain they are just as wonderful as this meal!
We had a great time at your restaurant on Wednesday. We loved dining in the library (my favorite room) at your restaurant. This was the first time we went inside to dine since the pandemic has struck. We were very impressed with the locations of the tables. The tables were set up perfect. We felt very safe at you restaurant. We had a wonderful time as we were celebrating my husband's birthday. Thank you for a great dining experience. Marian Callahan
The service food and ambiance were great. Will definitely come back again. The only thing we did not care for were the mojitos and not much of a cocktail selection.
Food was good, but didn’t seem like anything special, especially considering the price. Drinks weren’t great. I have heard steak there is really good, so maybe that’s their speciality.
