Doc B’s Restaurant + Bar - River North

Worst experience ever.
I booked a reservation on open table originally had an 845 reservation, which I don’t even know why they had that as an option because they close at 9pm. Anyways, so I called to see if they had anything earlier and they did have a 7:30 available so I thought us coming earlier we would be in and out before 9 WRONG! Me and my party of 4, didn’t get seated until around 8:10pm. Our server took too long to bring us the check, forgot to bring us our a1 sauce, forgot to bring us fries, and we had to ask two workers to find our server for us because we couldn’t find him ourselves. ALSO THE WORST PART OF IT ALL, it was literally freezing inside the restaurant we might as well ate outside. the only good thing about this mask was it was keeping my face warm. My nose was red and runny throughout the whole time. At the end of the night, the server had an attitude and told us to stay warm sarcastically when he saw all of us shaking and freezing to death. Never will I come here back again.

When I made my reservation on open table I chose standard (meaning inside) table. When I arrive they were only allowed to used the tables by the window and they had to have the windows open. They had 1 tiny little space heater that did nothing. They didn’t even have a heated lamp. Needless to say it was freezing in there. They should definitely inform people how there set up is before they waste time coming to their establishment in river north

We went w our 2 kids and had to sit by the open window. Everyone else was a good distance from the window and a group of women were given a heater while we were freezing. I understand the circumstances but they could have cared less that they sat us there w babies and didn’t make any accommodations.

This is one of my go to restaurants. The food is always good, and the service is exceptional. The selection of food is perfect, there are delicious salads, I usually have the grilled chicken salad, the Wok Out bowls are always good too. The artichoke appetizer is a must!

Very good food

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everyone was wearing masks and they were social distancing which made me feel very comfortable. And the food was DELICIOUS!

I recently went to Doc's and my experience wasn't entirely the best. We arrived and were only able to be seated at the high tables near a large closed window. Soon after we ordered, they opened the window, allowing 30 degree air into the restaurant. We ended up moving tables and it ended up being even colder, making our food get cold quickly. We ate quickly because it was so cold. The food and server was great however. As we went to pay for our food, they said they didn't accept cash, which was not communicated to us prior to seating. Would probably only go for takeout if I ever decide to return.

Birthday the staff was nice and polite the environment was quiet the restaurant was nice and clean

I am sure Covid makes running a restaurant a real challenge. That being said, food and drinks were tasty. Maybe need to work on cleanliness of seating area. Overall, a nice time and super friendly staff. Would definitely go back.

Regular of Doc B's and love it. Food is always outstanding and great wine selection. Used to be my regular happy hour spot pre-covid. Popped in the other day because the HH specials were such a good deal and found out they removed their specials. Bummer but understandable.

Lunch and service was both great! It was our first time in a restaurant since Covid and I felt they really took precautions to keep everyone safe.

The hostess was more than kind to seat us in a table that felt right for us with social distancing- and the food was fantastic!

Such a disappointment. I've been to the other location and raved when I told friends about it. I couldn't wait to take my kid and have a similar experience. Not even close. Staff felt unengaged, felt like a good pick up joint and not a restaurant. Staff was accommodating by making my kid a grilled cheese - I would not recommend bringing Kids as the menu has very few options for them. Not sure what it was but it was not what I expected.

I'd be willing to give the other location another go but not this location.

Fantastic meal and atmosphere

Excellent original cocktails and entrees. Quiet ambiance, excellent service, Brandon was available and our dinner was wonderful.

Sat outside at one of only two tables. Very comfortable. Inside wouldn’t be bad either as it is very open and they have the large windows open in good weather. Service was good. Everyone was masked up and all tables thoroughly cleaned.
Food was great. Had Ahi Tuna salad that was outstanding. Had shrimp salad with avocado dressing and it was excellent. At least 5 large cold shrimp in the salad and the dressing was very tasty.
Would definitely go back.

I go there for the Number 1 Tuna salad, it NEVER disappoints.

Great food, friendly knowledgeable staff! We dined outside due to pandemic preference. Outdoor seating is very limited but we got lucky with an open table.

My husband and I love this place! They are one of the only restaurants in Chicago, that consistently provides great food and amazing service! Even during the pandemic, they are exceptional! My husband loves the spicy margaritas! I tried the strawberry margarita and it was good. Any chicken dish is amazing and so fresh. I tried the chicken kabob for the first time last night and it did not disappoint! Their fish sandwich they offered before the pandemic was one of the best! Hopefully, they bring it back. Thank you guys for never lacking in quality!

Great food, bit expensive

I love Doc B’s. It’s my go to lunch spot or a Friday night late dinner and cocktail. It’s affordable and the food is healthy enough for my food/dietary restrictions.

Best tuna salad!

Overall I had a fair enough experience for a last minute set up. I've eaten from this business in particular on a number of occasions, but only carry out. After my dine in visit yesterday afternoon I think I'll just stick to carry out. Great food, great service but I do feel like the dine in experience was a bit lack luster.

Food was amazing. Our first round of drinks was a little slow but besides that this place was perfect. Ahi Tuna Salad is to die for. And spend the extra $5 and get the homemade Oreo ice cream.

I came to Doc’s with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday, and the food was amazing! The restaurant had a really nice feel to it, and the windows were wide open so it made us feel very near outside. Would definitely recommend!

Gregory was a great, attentive server. Food was great, atmosphere was fine (COVID 19 spacing). Visited twice in two days.

Best Server, Great Drinks, lots of noise!

Our waiter Richard was excellent. We had a great experience and I will return soon.
