herbs & creamy polenta
arrabbiata, basil, parmigiano reggiano
Absolutely delicious food with a beautiful seating area no matter where you are in the restaurant!
Okay, so we are in Phase 1, I get it, but being in the absolute back of the house with a restaurant full of open tables was a little insulting. Most tables had been removed to conform to occupancy requirements. But to be the only two people against the wall in an otherwise vacant part of the restaurant was off putting and odd. It made an uncomfortable evening meal all the more uncomfortable.
So no bottles of chianti. None. Not one. Five are listed on the menu. None.
Our favorite appetizer--the charred kale--wasn't charred. It was burned. Pretty ruined.
The soup was scrumptious. Pizzas were okay.
And it's not cool being told to use the restroom facilities upstairs by the waitstaff only to be questioned and challenged by the Homeland Security folks at the top of the first escalator landing. He "permitted" me to go to the next level and use the restroom but directed any further trips to facilities to those on the first floor near the valet entrance. Okay, cool. But when that was tried, same Guantanamo inquisition by same folks (whoever they are) mid-way down. They didn't really want to hear the explanation. Perhaps a little better coordination between hotel, the restaurant the the occupying forces in the weeks to come. This isn't Katrina, the city doesn't lay in ruin vulnerable to Saturday looters disguised as diners. It's a pandemic. It's serious. We all have to make concessions, but folks, get a grip.
The restaurant has always been a favorite and we have been trying hard to support all our regular places before and into Phase 1. But I'm going to have a hard time convincing my spouse to return based on Saturday night's experience.
Sorry Dominica, you tried, not mightily, and you failed. Not much of an effort shown on the relaunch.
Wonderful fun and great and friendly service. Best Italian dining in New Orleans.
Really enjoyed and appreciated our waiter’s attention and advice
Excellent, the food is perfect. Great decoration and service. The only issue was that I ordered strawberries chocolate gelato and Ingot vanilla chocolate. But it was delicious.
Server was Corey (sp?) and he was the best! Great pizza and great service!
We were in New Orleans returning home from a 7 day cruise. It was my wife's birthday and she loves Italian. We both moved South from the NE, about 35 years ago and this is the first time in all those years that we enjoyed REAL Italian in the South. We return to our birthplaces and enjoy it, but S of the Mason Dixon Line it's few and far between. It was a fun time, maybe the COVID 19 kept people away so it was quieter than normal, but we give it the highest score possible. Plus, their homemade Limoncello was FABULOUS.
Loud and cramped. Our server was not particularly attentive or helpful. My wife’s pasta dish (black squid ink pasta) was, admittedly, incredibly impressive. It was flavorful and rich and delightful. I had the muffuletta pizza, though, which was a huge miss. The crust was first-rate, but it did not come together well. If you do go, expect okay service and stick to ordering from the pastas.
The service was not very good and the food was just meh. The best thing was the Brussels sprouts dish. The pizza was nothing to write home about and the meatballs and polenta were bland. Really disappointed in the overall experience.
We really enjoyed this restaurant. Great experience.
When we walked in they had about 15 to 20 tables empty but were told they had to get our table ready! WTH! I had reservations not a walk in off the street. Our waitress seemed in another world had to keep repeating request. Additional plates, extra dressing just to name a few.
The service and food were amazing! I will definitely return in the near future!
Wonderful food. Great service.
This is a nice place to eat after a show or the symphony. It is right across the street from the Orpheum. It has a nice atmosphere and the food is pretty good. But the service was way off this night. The waiter forgot to order my husbands meal. The soup that I ordered consisted of 2 ounces. The pizza was good.
My Italian husband couldn't get over how delicious his pasta was at Domenica. Everything was delicious in a fun, lively atmosphere. The drinks were yummy too.
Had an outstanding meal at Domenica on Saturday evening. We had the special: a 60day dry-aged bone-in ribeye. Probably the best steak I've ever eaten. We started with the roaster cauliflower, which was spicier and more flavorful than I remembered from our last visit. We also had the arancini, which was excellent. Our server was fabulous: just the right mix of attentive, funny and familiar. Completely elevated the overall experience. Highly recommend!
Gabriell (our waitress) was amazing! Very tentative and patient! Just when I realized I needed something she was right there! The food was amazing! The lighting and seating were also perfect. Would recommend ! Especially between 2-6 😉
Amazing food and great service!!! Perfection all around!!!
Have been to Domenica several times and have always enjoyed the experience. I was disappointed by the service and food this time. Poor service. Food was not as good as it has been in the past. Every meal we ordered was just not as good as it was in the past. Not sure if I’ll be back.
Service was wonderful and so was our food! Never a disappointment and our go to spot before attending events at the Saengar.
Love the vibe and the food! Exceptional service. Domenica is always a favorite of ours when we are in NOLA!
Great dinner before walking to the Saenger for a show.
The Food was excellent. Our server Todd was nothing short of phenomenal! As the owner of a retail store, I believe service and knowledge are key. However, Todd takes it one step further...he loves what he does. That’s a win-win for both the customer and the restaurant!
This was my first time, and it was more than fabulous. Came for their fresh seafood pasta, left full and content.
It was great!
It has been a few years since I've dined at Dom's but just as it was back then held true Saturday night...absolutely delish!! One of my favorite restaurants of all time. The roasted cauliflower and Brussel sprouts were so damn good! I don't know what they do with that Feta whip but that alone is worth the price of admission. Our waiter, Cory, was awesome. Very friendly, knowledgeable and had us engaging in a game with another table! It was a lot of fun. Can't wait to go back!!
Our entrees arrived before our salads and the wait staff actually tried to leave them at the table. When we refused and they were taken back to the kitchen, the lasagna was obviously put back in an oven. It was blackened around the edges the second time it arrived. My oysters were overcooked as well. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed.
Great place!!! Thanks incredible food, service, and value!
We accidentally rolled in for the happy hour and the deals were great. We were hungover after Mardi Gras and our waitress was awesome (I wish I knew her name to give her credit). The pizza and pasta were delicious. My friend asked for her order to be specially made and they were able to accommodate it without a problem.
This should be a great Italian restaurant. Instead it seems to be serving dishes on the cheap (without a cheap price). The octopus starter I ordered turned out to be a tasty fennel and orange/kumquat salad, but only 3 small pieces of octopus. The king cake dessert was only middling in quality. My husband, however, liked his pizza. The chef is better than what we are getting on the table.
Kudos to the service and kitchen staff for keeping things flowing smoothly despite the fact that it was 6:00pm on Mardi Gras and the place was overflowing with costumers (me included) ending the day and evening ball goers starting theirs. The food and drink were excellent as always!
Our waiter was outstanding! We were there from 3:00-4:30. Our waiter was off at 4:00 pm, can’t remember his name, date was 2/25/20. The food was outstanding!
Overall, not dissppointed
Great! Everything was perfect!
