My friends and I visited Donnelly's on a Thursday night for drinks and appetizers in the dining room. The service, food and view were all very good. Our only complaint is the noise level. Although only about half the tables were filled, the noise was extremely loud. The four of us were seated at a small table by the window and had to shout to one another to be heard. I would probably not go back for that reason.
Boom boom shrimp was perfectly Fried very pleased
Gravy on the mashed potatoes was excellent over all great dinning experience
I really appreciate having Happy Hour prices in the dining room. Service was great even though she had several tables. The menu selection is quite good.
The noise level inside is just too high. Fine for the bar but too much for casual dining.
We had great service and the food and view is amazing! Will definitely be going back!
Great local restaurant with a delicious menu. Beautiful location.
Portions are smaller each time I come but food is cooked well and view is so relaxing.
Our server was a wonderful young lady who was positive, helpful and made our meal experience much more enjoyable. The restaurant should make a better effort to keep the tables well wiped down, and should ask that those sitting inside refrain from opening the un-screened windows. Dealing with flies around your food in an indoor setting was a detriment to what was good food and good service.
Terrible experience , very loud . Spoke to manager about our concerns and her response to us was “ it is what it is”
Attractively redone, good location on the water. My food was good, but they very overcooked the burger that was ordered medium that my friend ordered. Server was attentive and friendly.
We were celebrating our 58th wedding annaversry. The food was delicious, the serice great and the view of the water and the ducks was most enjoyable.
Donnellys is a nice upgrade from the recent Deep Creek restaurant...Food and menu are very similar...It was half price wine night...but the bottle they brought out was neither the one we ordered nor listed on the menu...Both our meals were excellent...Was surprised that bread was an additional charge
We love this place. Love sitting on the outside patio and the river view while drinking and eating. Often go for lunch when in the Annapolis area, and have taken friends for dinner, too. Nothing fancy, but a fun and solid place. LOVE the fried green tomato and fish bites starter! The bang bang shrimp are great, too! Lots of people get crabs.
Definitely worth a try!
Very nice family dinner. Seafood was nice and fresh and very well cooked. Menu choices are generally light and flavorful. Hushpuppies are a winner.
Ambience and menu were terrific. We will be visiting Donnelly's again
Got seated quickly but then waited in excess of 10 minutes for our waitress to take our drink order. Well by then we knew what we wanted. The prices were on the higher end and the food is mediocre at best. The atmosphere is ok and the noise level is almost unbearable. I felt like I had to shout in order to have a conversation. It was my wife’s birthday and oh boy is it memorable. I say that because I won’t be returning unless it’s warmer out and I can sit outside. If you like loud places and mediocre food then this place is for you.
The portions were a little lacking. The vegetables were like rubber. But service and ambiance was good. It’s very disheartening to see wait staff standing around talking to themselves and not paying attention to customers.
The new decor is awesome. We have never had a bad meal here!!
the food tasted great but was only lukewarm and i thought a little pricey
Very nice Thanksgiving buffet1 While Donnelly's is primarily a seafood restaurant, they did a superb job with the Thanksgiving buffet. The turkey, stuffing, and other traditional staples were delicious. As a seafood fan, I really enjoyed the mini-crabcakes, crab soup oysters, mussels, and steamed shrimp. The service was also impressive. This was my wife and my first Thanksgiving dinner away from family, so we were very apprehensive. Thank you Donnelly's for making it such a nice Thanksgiving Day!
Great food and a nice atmosphere! We enjoyed our dinner. I had the Magothy River Club and it was delicious.
We enjoyed our dinner. Requested a window table and were accommodated. The restaurant is under new ownership with a slightly different menu. Will continue to enjoy this restaurant when we are in the area.
Awesome location and food offerings. We enjoyed oysters, crab cakes, burgers, and a great kid menu.
Gorgeous renovation of the Deep Creek Restaurant & Marina, especially the lovely outdoor deck and even tables on the pier. Wonderful waterfront eats! Love the crab stuffed avocado, salmon filet, crab cakes and haddock Veracruz for nice dinners - totally enjoy the nachos, calamari, crab dip (YUM!) and great cocktails for a light eat and/or happy hour. Wonderful place for a great water view/vibe and relaxing with good food. The staff is always positive, upbeat and exceptional, too - great group of people!
The “Tuna Polk Bowl” was excellent. Fresh tuna pieces, cucumber, seaweed and light dressing. Originally supposed to be raw tuna; I asked the server if I could have it lightly cooked. The Chef brought a sample to our table to make sure it was to my taste. Perfect! Wonderful service and “ foodie worthy.”
Love the water view. Great food and service but extremely loud. Very hard to talk to your dinner guests. Next time will plan to dine on their patio.
This restaurant has had its ups and downs over the years. The new ownership did spruce up the place which was getting run down. But they took out all the possible sound absorbing materials. It was too noisy for us to have a conversation. The food was good but they have fewer selections than they used to have.
This was the first time we've been back with new chef/management. Was glad to see that they've updated the menu with some more innovative choices, but kept favorites like the cream of crab soup. Service has also improved. The dining room has been updated somewhat to have a cleaner, more modern aesthetic. They have such a great view, and have added more outdoor dining. Will be back.
We had the misfortune of being sat next to a very large and loud group, so it was hard to have a decent conversation. Fortunately, they ate fast and the dining room quieted down!
The new owners are slowly getting this place turned around. New outdoor seating is a big plus. Now it's time to focus on taking the kitchen to the next level.
Fathers Day brunch was delicious!!
Enjoyed great service along with great food! I wish it wasn’t so loud... it was Friday night, they could turn down background music... the view of marina and water is fabulous! The outdoor seating looked quite inviting - will try that next time!!
Great food. Beautiful waterfront view. Friendly service. We've been coming here for 16 years and have never been disappointed.
Deep Creek was a great find for us. We were expecting the typical bar food menu and were pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of the food. Our waiter (wish I could remember his name) was outstanding - very attentive and helpful as we made our selections. They are opening an outdoor bar soon and we look forward to going back.
Nice location, good food, excellent service. However, the restaurant was so noisy that we finally terminated our meal and went outside in order to be able to have a conversation. The noise level was the highest I have ever experienced in a restaurant. Don't know if it's like this every night but, if it is, I can't recommend Deep Creek.
The server disappeared at one point, leaving us sitting with empty drinks. Fish came to the table *barely* cooked. The manager did comp the meal for raw fish, but overall the experience was not one that would make you want to return. Not impressed with the new ownership.
This is always a good to favorite restaurant for our family. Good food and great atmosphere. Love this place!
We found this restaurant on Open Table after an Orioles game. It is located on the water and has a great view. We opted for some comfort food... I had a big greasy patty melt with 2 kinds of cheese and Russian dressing on grilled sourdough...it was good. We started with an over cooked order of potato skins with cheese and bacon bits... also good. My wife enjoyed her similar carb load.
The place has a good local vibe. The service was great....
LOVE the renovations! And the food was updated too. Just a better presentation all around than our visit just two years ago, which was good then, but this was much much better. Nice flavor to crab soup, caesar salad used fresh, crisp, green leafy romaine lettuce but a bit over dressed and lacked croutons, battered cod was perfectly light and fresh beautiful fish inside, crab imperial is loaded with crab meat, the odd combination of sprouts, carrots and onion as vegetable of the day was remarkably good - I may try to replicate that at home, kids menu is good quality -- but I wish they had fish as an option, side-winder fries are humble looking but extremely tasty. I'd love to see some grilled shrimp and scallops added on to their menu to diversify the seafood options. House wines are are good, we enjoyed a nice refreshing Reisling and supple Pinot Noir. Service is good and friendly. Servers should, though, taste all menu items to be able to describe the menu items when asked. Everyone in our party aged 5 - 80 were satisfied with meals, the view is spectacular, and again, kudos on the renovation. What a great improvement!
We arrived about an hour early and did not get seated until our reservation time. The ambiance was nice- newly renovated. Friendly staff and good service at the bar and at the table. We were hoping for the filet and crab cake, but they ran out of the filet. Food was very good. Did not disappoint
The food was excellent and the service was great. The waterfront view is wonderful.
