The service was great the ambiance was excellent but the food was a bit too bland for me it wasn’t seasoned at all.
Alex was terrible. His interaction with ppl of color is completely different than his interaction with ppl who are of no color. He ran out after us in the parking lot as we walked to the car yelling that we didn’t pay for our food and accused us of taking the booklet, claiming he triple checked the table and the booklet was not there. We walked back into the restaurant with him to prove we paid and the booklet with the money was there the entire time. He didn’t even have the decency apologize. We asked for the manager and he never got him. We will not be returning
I am kind of surprised at the negative reviews here- this was our first visit to Double Cut and while the first round of drinks we had at the bar while waiting for our table were rather flat, everything else was first-rate. Our server was wondefully attentive and very personable. The oysters appetizer was excellent though oddly served without seafood forks- this was fine because they were expently shucked and perfect for "slurping", with the brine preserved. The hanging bacon was a most interesting steakhouse treat and the porterhouse was excellent, along with the sauces. Top it off with a Beringer Founders Reserve Cabernet and a table by the fire to boot and what's not to love? Well done, Double Cut! (and I don't mean our perfectly medium-rare steak!)
A very nice experience. Our waitress Elena did an excellent job!
Food was 100% not worth the price, you’re better off going to a chain restaurant. The lobster mac n cheese tasted spoiled, thankfully that got taken off the bill. It was still a pricy bill for mediocre food. Do not recommend the seafood at all.
Server was wonderful. Steak was a little tough and not truly medium rare—more like medium. Overall, the food was good and it was an enjoyable vacation dinner spot.
Food and drinks were delicious! Servers were extremely polite and helpful.
Family of 7 served FAR below grade steak quality. All steaks were brought out and served cold. MONTEZUMA’ S Revenge almost immediately after leaving. Reported to resort Food & Beverage manager!!! Restaurant was overbooked and service was poor! Never ever, ever will I revisit this restaurant!
The service was good the apps were good the drinks were good but the steak at 48.00 for a 14 oz. ribeye was the worst I ever had small tough thin a bad experience for a place that is supposed to specialize in steaks. The waiter and manager did not make it right I did give them a chance.
Service was great. Food was warm at best for the price
Service was excellent and servers were extremely accommodating. It was a lovely atmosphere.
One of my favorite places in PA ! Highly recommend !
2nd time coming in and lived our server and all food was delicious! Definitely worth it!
Our server was absolutely amazing. Elen was polite and her service was awesome! The food was absolutely delicious and I wish there was another one of these restaurants closer to my home. I would absolutely eat there often .
Un ambinte agradable un buen servicio tienen me encanto para una noche con tu pareja. La comida muy rica. Volveria otra ves.
It was a beautiful restaurant. appetizers were great but all in all it was not worth the price.
Good food, beautiful atmosphere, delightful staff, and quality service
Food was excellent, service very good. Ambiance not great, restaurant in a kids resort so their were a lot of loud kids and babies crying etc.... it was fine for us but def not romantic.
It took an hour after ordering to get our food which is outrageous. The ahi tuna was and bbq chicken was delicious, but the eight dollar kids meal cheeseburger was over cooked and undersized. It was like 2inches in diameter. For eight dollars, I would expect a good sized burger for a growing boy.
They forgot to bring out our drinks, and only brought us a loaf of bread once even though they knew we were waiting for an hour with four kids, including a 2 year old. For the cost of the place, the service was terrible and I will never eat here again.
I would recommend this place. Good service, food and vibe.
We ordered medium-rare steak, it was well done. We ordered cream corn, it didn't arrive with food, had to remind wait staff - when it finally arrived it was cold. Kids pasta did not have any flavor, they did not eat it. The wait staff barely attended to us and when they did, it was poor service - constantly forgetting items.
I made a reservation for our Anniversary and I put a note on my reservation that I wanted to surprise my wife with a candle if possible on our dessert and we didnt get it. Maybe they dont offer that I understand. But no one even greet us or atleast make our evening special. Our waiter was very pushy to sell a bottle of champagne or wine. He keeps pushing it so my wife had enough and just order it so our waiter could stop. The waiter forgot alot of stuff that we ordered. Blue cheese on our steak, water for our table, marinara for our calamari etc. The waiter just keeps apologizing when he forget something. We finish our dinner and we saw our bill that the steaks have a wrong amount on the menu and on our bill. My steak says $64 on the menu but we got charged $71 and my wifes steak is the same but I forgot how much. We told our waiter but he said its the managers fault and we got the old menu. On top of that they put AUTOMATIC 20% GRATUITY on our bill. We dont mind giving them a gratuity but I think they dont deserve an automatic 20% for their service specially we spend $300 for 2. Will never go back
We visit the Poconos every year and no matter where we stay, always have to dine t Double Cut Steakhouse before we return home. It is definitely the best restaurant in all of the Pocono area. Bruce was our server and made the night special with his kindness, menu recommendations, his whipping up a mustard sauce from scratch for my wife to enjoy with her shrimp cocktail, and making our granddaughter feel special on her birthday. Thanks for a great evening and see you next year.
The food was exquisite! I will definitely be back. I was celebrating my birthday. Everyone was very attentive and made me feel special.
The food was great… the drink list or wine list was never presented to us or the specials explained… we never had silverware at the table until we asked when the main course came.. and our water /ice glasses were never replenished… I would’ve spent a lot more money had the server explained more things to us or sold us on anything… If it wasn’t for the service.. would’ve been a solid 4.5 star experience
Food was delicious. One of the more memorable meals out of the last 12 times there. Amber C was on target with service and was very attentive to our needs.
Started off with sea scallops and hanging bacon. Then an 8 once filet with baked potato.
Food was delicious, from the hanging bacon to the Alaskan king crab, my meal was awesome. We had a table of 7 , with opportunity to sample other meals, I would give this place a big thumbs up. Service was awesome.
Meal came out cold and after everyone else at table had their meals. Overpriced for what you get. They sneak the 20% tip on your bill without your knowledge so that they hope you give them more. If service was good, then a tip wouldn’t be a problem. I guess that this is another one of those post covid tricks to get more money out of the patron. (Kinda like the BS of a change shortage).
This was a horrible experience. Beautiful place but service and food were sub par for the prices. Waitress never checked to see if we needed refills, food came out cold and missing condiments and no utensils. When we asked for the condiments they never came and had to ask again. 20% gratuity automatic so the wait staff have no incentive to get you what you need. Sad that such a big resort has what is touted as an upscale restaurant that misses the mark. Going off the resort for dinner for the rest of our stay.
This is not a steak house. But it demands steak house prices. The meats taste like grocery store choice cuts $, 9.99 /lb ribeye tops. But you pay $60+ for 14 oz from this place.
We waited an hour and a half for our food. The food was not worth the high price. I understand during these “trying” times low staff could be a possible issue but under different circumstances the food was still not worth the price or the wait
We specifically said in our reservation that we had a birthday celebration and the restaurant did not acknowledge it at all! What is the point of open table asking if we’re celebrating anything specific? I even put in my reservation my daughter’s name and age she’s turning so that they know to look for the youngest person at the table. Like what was the point?? Besides that, the steak wasn’t even seasoned not even salt and pepper and the soup was cold. I’ve been to double cut a few times before but this time was disappointing!!!
Excellent food and service great overall experience
My daughter and I enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. We would definitely come back. Alex was a great waiter.
We had a wonderful time. The service was top notch & the food was delicious.
Based on the prices that are on par with Tri-State area steak houses, we had high expectations that were sorely not met in terms of the flavoring of the food.
The presentation was lovely and almost everything lacked taste with exception of the filet mignon. The sides were lukewarm.
One positive -- our server, Alena, was pleasant and attentive.
4 adults and 2 toddlers = $340 including gratuity. Not worth it.
The food was good but expensive. Took a long time to be served after placing our order, we were there for over 2 hours. Kids were falling asleep at the table.
Service was very SLOW. The food poor the Bone-in Ribeye Steak was not tender at all and not flavorful. It was very very pricey for non quality food.
Side dishes weren’t well seasoned nor good presentation . There was a child running around and knocking over bar stool and staff never approached the couple with the child - even for safety concerns. Very distracting. It cheapened the experience
