The food arrived fast and it was yummy along with how the ambiance was nice. To be completely honest, the part that fell short was the service. Our server came up and didn’t greet herself but asked if we were ready to order. Couple minutes later, she came back and took our order. Our drink was ran from another server and that took a bit of time already. When our food came, our server never came back to check up on us. She appeared to be disengaged and not really interested in working. I understand everyone can have their off days but majority of our time there, she was on her phone or talking to other staff members. I don’t typically make reviews but the service fell short and in a sense butchered our experience at dovetail. She was nice but if she was busy, I understand not being able to attend each table but this was on a slow Monday night.

Unfortunately, the food didn’t really stand out. The tomato stracciatella salad wasn’t as flavorful as I was hoping for, and the sirloin steak was mediocre at best, especially considering there are much better options in Vancouver at a similar price point. The broccolini and fries were decent, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, I probably wouldn’t go back. Vancouver has too many great restaurants to choose from.
