   We ordered 4 small plates and shared. Kinda like Tapas. We started with a Gruner Veltliner Blend white wine which complimented the dishes we chose. We then ordered Oysters on the Half Shell from the Virginia Shore-perfect. You gotta try the Beets 3 ways. The Scallops were great too! Harrison is an awesome chef who knows how’s to combine his ingredients for the palate. We finished with the Chocolate Lava Cake with Hazelnuts! We will def go back! Thank you for a wonderful evening out on the town.

   Delicious food and great service. The restaurant couldn’t help the noise resulting from a nearby lively baby. However, in spite of that annoyance, we had a lovely time enjoying delicious food with good friends. We shall be back!

   Our waitress, Kimberly was very kind and inviting. The chef, Harrison Littel, stopped by our table twice to check on us. The food was hot, delicious and healthy. The hostess, Jennifer, was very friendly as we exited the restaurant. We will definitely be back! 😀

    Absolutely wonderful experience. Went on a Tuesday to celebrate a large milestone for a family member. We brought a 4 year old & weren't sure how he was going to be received, as some nice restaurants regard children as an imposition. This was not the experience whatsoever. From the moment we walked in, they treated him like a prince, from making special lemonade with lots of maraschino cherries, making special chicken nuggets for him, to the chef personally delivering his ice cream at the end. It was so refreshing for the WHOLE family to be treated as equally important guests. The food was exceptional, although a little slow to come out. Creative pairings you cannot find elsewhere in town. A much needed addition to our downtown. It does cost more than your average, casual dining experience, but is priced fairly for that level of dining experience. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

    We dined here for our daughter’s graduation. We had 3 littles with us and plus 5 adults. They sat us in a private room and treated us like royalty. Truly a wonderful experience. AND the food for so very good!

    4 teenagers where they all had water to drink and 2 girls got salads with chicken no one got dessert and the bill was over $200! The 2 boys got sides with their ribeyes however they were not told that it would be $12 more. They did get bread too so that added to the cost.

    Wonderful service. Despite the build up of “Chef does this … does that…Chef doesn’t like substitutions” - the dinner was very disappointing. Most of our table didn’t finish. My pork chop “Chef recommends medium” - Chef cooked well done. Brussels sprouts that were recommended were so air fried they were dusty. All said the service is what provided the passing grade. They were exceptional. Overall not good value. I’d recommend to go elsewhere.

    Outstanding restaurant and much needed in Winston Salem. Two of our party had fish entrees that were fantastic. Great portion. Two large trout filets. I had the pork shank special. Amazing. Tender with just the right spices and sides. Lastly was a filet cooked Pittsburgh rare which is usually not done right. It was perfect. Definitely will return.

    We had an excellent dinner there last night, the new menu items are amazing and we loved the chicken thighs. Julie was our server, who had previously been the server for some of our party and it was top service again. The chef came around to greet every table, and make sure their experience was premier. It’s such a great touch, as less restaurants give you this type of personal connection. We loved everything about the evening and will most definitely be back.

    Rebecca was fabulous! She knew all about the menu, answered all our questions, and frequently checked on us. We ate out on the patio and enjoyed having it all to ourselves. We couldn’t believe no one else wanted to eat outside because the weather was perfect.

    The restaurant is beautiful with floor to ceiling glass providing a great view for all tables. The service was professional and attentive. The menu was provisional for most appetites with varied offerings. The presentation of dishes was very good. The food was excellent. The one area that could be improved is the selection and pricing of wines. A better selection at lower price points would be a welcome complement to the menu. Some of the better wines on the list seem to be priced higher than one would expect. All things considered, the restaurant is good. I will be back to have a more casual meal as the description of the burger sounds great. For a fine dining evening with wine, bring your taste buds and a full wallet.

    Our first visit. Excellent new addition to the Winston-Salem food scene. Nice combination of a contemporary design and great food. The Executive Chef has done a great job combining some classic steakhouse entrees with lighter fare. All of our dishes were cooked to perfection. Great bar that occupies one full side of restaurant, with open views to the outside on the other three sides. We are already planning our next visit.

    Everything was great-from the service to the food to the ambience! Will, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable. I had the salmon, my husband had the pork chop and we shared the brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious! I would highly recommend Downtown Grille and we will be back! Next time we will get the bread service as we love Bobby Boy Bakeshop and that is where they get their bread from.

    The menu selection was varied, comprehensive and interesting. Food quality was excellent and presentation was sophisticated. Plating was solid and portions were appropriate for the price. Ambiance was very nice and the noise level was acceptable. Service was exceptional. Example, my wife omitted a portion of her entree and the chef came out of the kitchen to make sure she understood the substitution and to ensure the new option was acceptable. This is service at its best and was refreshing in Winston Salem. Two small suggestions: it would have been good to feature the scallop more prominently in the crudo since it was hidden beneath the delicious, gazpacho-like sauce. Also, a touch heavy handed with the salt in the entrees. Nevertheless, the overall experience places Downtown Grill among the best restaurants in Winston-Salem and it is great have this option for dates, parties and business dinners!

    We really enjoyed our first time dining. The steaks were good and the Plow Plate appetizer did not disappoint. The real star of the show was the Truffle Frites! Don’t miss them. Amazing with the steak. Nice wine list, as well.

    Really expensive for the quality of the food. I know they are newly opened. There are other less expensive places in WS with much better steaks
