Earls Kitchen + Bar - Guildford
The service was good, although the Bacon Cheddar burger lacked in flavour and the Buffalo Cauliflower we had wasn’t as good as other locations we’ve been to.
Service was poor seeing that we waited a very long time before a waitress would see if we needed anything.
Waiter made us feel rushed and pressured.
Menu on table did not even work or load on phone.
It was nice, reception to server the service and food was good 👍
Always a great place for a tasty and healthy meal. My wife and I have been going to Earl's Restaurant for a long time and we are never disappointed.
Great food, very nice atmposphere. The menu was not that extensive but all the plates reflected all the major preferences.
Food was below usual standards. The happy hour brunch prices are very reasonable but sadly the quality reflected the lower price. The meals were served barely warm and also tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while as all the items on my plate were dry, especially the potatoes, which were inedible to me. The food items seemed like they were prepared in advance and just reheated last minute for serving. The poached eggs were totally dry but I definitely was not going to be sending them back and risk a long wait. The fried chicken looked overcooked and refried like the potatoes.
I was with two young children and they didn’t seem to notice and luckily they enjoyed the experience but I was very disappointed in my meal. The service was warm and friendly but extremely slow. Overall, below average food, slooooooow service even though we were only one of a few tables when we first arrived. The kids enjoyed it so it wasn’t a total flop and they loved their drinks and dessert!
The individual that served us was very friendly, welcoming and on point with his efficient service. We enjoyed his company! Thank you
The waitress must have been inexperienced! She forgot our appetizers and brought our food then said ‘ oh do u still want them’? We said yes and she never offered to put them on the house so we asked the manager and she gave us a gift certificate.... the waitress rarely came back to offer us drinks , nice girl but poorly trained, food was excellent, place is looking run down though, need some maintenance or remodeling.... would go back though cause the food is good , fresh and tasty!
When I reserved table on line, it did not mention only for 2hrs.
However when we were served the table in restaurant, host told us it is only 2hrs.
It is not fair. If so, you should note before confirm reservation.
Excellent service from the moment we walked in the door the hostess was pleasant and attentive. Our server was very friendly. Service was excellent.
Absolutely no social distancing practices in place - had 6 different servers, would have been nice to have one consistent server so there would have been no mistakes made.
Happy Hour is always the best value. Highballs for $4, can't go wrong with that. Chicken Street Tacos for $6, is always my go-to. Service was little off this time around.
Very happy with the service, food and drinks. Happy hour prices have appeared to have increased but that's to be expected considering the times.
Friendly staff, good food!
We visited at happy hour and my family enjoyed the food.
Great, good service
I waited for 20 minutes and there was no one to come and greet me. Did not even offer me water and then came back to ask me if I wanted anything after the time was over to order drinks.
The service was great. No problems there. The food was super disappointing however. I could have made a better dish at home. I would not recommend or go back to this place because first and foremost a restaurant has to have good food.
was really busy, maybe take more precautions for covid
It was so loud I had to yell to be heard and my throat was sore after. Not going to come back anytime soon during COVID.
The service was slow and the restaurant was very noisy
I understand that busy is good for business but I personally don’t like the amount of noise because there are a lot of people. The company may want to consider the capacity of people in the restaurant since there is a pandemic going on. Food and drinks we’re good overall.
I haven't been to Earl's in probably 10 or more years as it's always been very expensive for little food. However, my date wanted to go. He had steak and lobster and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the waitress got my order wrong and then I had to wait for the correct dish while my dinner companion was almost finished his meal. When I received my correct dish, it was extremely salty. I complained about that to her and she blamed it on the fact that prawns are salty. Actually, prawns are not salty and need to be seasoned, but not the whole jar of salt. This was the new Thai Prawn Curry Bowl. Only four prawns as well. Not worth $22 in my opinion and the choice of vegetables was absurd for a Thai dish. Who puts carrots and celery in a red curry? I've had butter chicken at these kind of restaurants and they are pretty good but this Thai curry dish was absolutely terrible. I ate it regardless because I was now starving. In my previous experiences, at other restaurants, if there was a problem with your dish (mistake and then prepared badly), the manager would come over to ask about it and suggest something else or take it off the bill. She didn't even talk to the manager and just said she'd let the kitchen know about the salt. Not impressed at all and I won't be going back to Earl's again.
Had issues with the food taking more time than normal to come out. My wife had ordered the Santa fe chicken salad with no tortilla chips but it arrived with it. We sent it back to have it fixed and when the salad came back it was just leaves and chicken, nothing else
Was served by many different people as if we didn’t have anyone specific looking after our table. Long waits between seeing anyone while could see many servers talking together at kitchen. They were nice when they came but not organized.
The happy hour was great with lots of offerings at a fair price.
Special note sent with the reservation was not acknowledged..... my sister's birthday.
One item ordered was requested to be non-spicy, came to the table spicy. Sent back. Manager arrived to confirm. Replacement sent had no taste. Tuna was just cut and placed on the plate without any sauce... even soya sauce would have worked.
The area we were sitting overlooked the kitchen pass. Lot of chatting, talking and laughter from the area with no regard for noice level generating into the dining room.
I usually enjoy Earl’s but tonight was a disaster. First, we had reservations on open table but were seated awkwardly in a tight space close to the exit.
Second the server or kitchen did not process the orders correctly so appy’s came late with meals. The appy that arrived early was cold - shrimp gyoza. Caesar did not seem fresh. My Kung pao chicken has no chicken and was soaking in an oily sauce. My daughters margarita was soggy. And on and on.
My wife complained to the manager for which our drinks were comped. But at this point it didn’t really matter or make amends for a terrible experience.
I hope this was a one off but I’m never going back to the Guildford Earls again and may not get the courage to go back to Earls for awhile.
My wife has contacted head office as well.
Been coming to the Guildford Earls for as long as I can remember but this would have to be the worst experience yet. The service was super slow. It was just me and a friend and spent a total of 3 hrs there because we had to wait for our server, utensils, food for too long. There were fruit flies swarming above our table, one fell in my friends water. Not sure if she took sips of it as we realized there was something in her glass towards the end. We both got the blackened chicken burger and both our chicken was under done on the inside and over done on the outside, we just ate around it as it would have taken too long for the server to come and get our food redone. Have always had a good time at Earls but this one time really put a sour taste. Will be avoiding this location for a while.
All was great except a screaming child that would not stop. Not the restaurant’s fault, on the parents.
Covid measures in place so felt safe , sat outside so quiet - always find music too loud not really relaxing after a long working week ! Overall good
The outdoor patio seats were comfortable and well distanced from others. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our steaks were sightly overdone than requested but everything tasted good and the red sangria is so delicious!
don’t bring cutlery for more than 10 minutes (while food sitting on table - we cannot even eat it)
My wife on her third bite found a bug in her food, waitress took her plate away to be remade. Manager came to table and apologized for the situation. Our friend paid with out us checking the bill, we looked later to see they still charged for my wife’s plate, disappointed as my wife lost her appetite and only could eat a few bites of her new plate.
Went for happy hour - everything was great! Sat on the patio not a huge fan of the chairs would have loved a booth but of course space permitting. Drinks never stayed empty too long and our waitress was super great and observant. One of the better Earls locations I’ve been too
Was a great meal. Waitress was good. Only issue was the water craft. Kept spilling everywhere when you tried pouring.
I ordered the salmon zen bowl and there was way less salmon and avacado than there was last time I visited (about a month ago). However the service was very good.
