East Troy Brewery
This restaurant is charming and fun. We meet here because it is halfway between Grafton and Rockford, to connect with our daughter and son-in-law. So it is important to us that the restaurant we choose is good. We were treated like kings! Granted, is was Sunday evening and they were not that busy. But to give credit where credit is due, we had a great experience. To cap it off, after dinner we sat in front of their fireplace on overstuffed leather couches and played a couple rounds of cards around their game table. Excellent experience.
Great looking restaurant. We sat in the bar and where fine with the loud noise level. Service was good but the food was disappointing. I had really boring duck confit tacos... lacked seasoning. My date had the fish fry. Expensive for fish fry but it was fried snapper. He liked the fish but not the Asian slaw. Again, lacked seasoning. We may come back for a beer but not for the food.
I only had 2 complaints:
1. I ordered my burger medium and it came medium rare. It had a very nice seer on the outside but the bottom bun was bloody and the inside of the burger was very pink. It tasted good but I like my meat cooked more.
2. The duck wings were a little too salty.
The waitress, Mandy, was friendly and very helpful and nice.
Overall it was good and we would go again.
Great time as always!!!
We want East Troy Brewery to Succeed!! Great atmosphere, layout and ambiance - wonderful beer, wine and cocktail selection!!! However, food is overstated (Waygu? hamburger - tasted like HS lunchroom), Cobb Salad (unimaginative and not flavorful) and hummus (no flavor, as well as the accompanying Beer Cheese). The Good News is that all these issues are fixable and hopefully part of the Growing Pains encountered in any new endeavor.
Good Luck - we will be back!
First home visit in this establishment and very happy with the choice to go here. Food was excellent with a great selection of housemate beer. Also an extensive list of bourbon and scotch. I would recommend highly.
Great drinks, beer, and atmosphere!
Small portions for the price. 2 Scallops, no salad, no soup for $20. Not enough to fill you up.
As a brewery the beers we tried were 1st rate. I enjoyed the Bankrupt WIT and thought it rich and unique in flavoring. My wife, not a real beer drinker, took to the Chocolate Stout. My daughter seemed to be doing quite well enjoying the Amber.
We also found the food to be hearty and delicious. I would recommend the Pork Belly BLT while my wife and daughter each had the pizzas. They could have easily shared a pizza and had enough to eat but it was fun to try a couple different varieties.
I can definitely see us returning to East Troy Brewery as there is a few more beers and menu items I would love to sample.
Consistently excellent. It’s also getting easier to get a table exactly when you want it, though I’d still recommend making a reservation. Without question my favorite place in the area.
We did not have a very good table - the food was excellent as well as the service.
Fun place to have a casual dinner.Food and service were great. The venue is first class!
Way too expensive, food was only so-so and extremely loud. You had to shout to talk to the people at your own table. Waitress was good though.
Thought fish fry was ok, but a little overpriced compared to other establishments.
Beer was great. Food was very good. Service was excellent
Service was a little slow, food was great, but music volume was a little too loud.
The salmon was delicious! Presentation was outstanding and the service was great, we felt like we were her only customers.
Everything was very good. Server (Renae) was great. Appetizers (pretzels) were hot and very good. 7 people in our group. variety of meals ordered. All were excellent, salad, pizza's, burgers.
It was very busy and the noise level was a little loud but the food and service were very good.
Second visit. Wait staff was better. Food was great! I love the character of the building. Noise level is high, distracting at times. Spike
Maybe it was just the night but very slow service! Food was good but not enough serving size for the price!! Disappointed
Food was excellent, as well as the service. Love ordering coffee and it comes in a copper French Press! It was Sat. night, a bit noisy for us....we will come back on a weekday lunch. Really respect the decorating and keeping much of the bank in plain sight.
We’ve been there twice and both times we good. Beer was excellent food was great. Service is getting better every time. Only negative is the menu needs to grow
The food was very disappointing as the beer. The manager was trying to make it right for us which we were appreciative of, but I would not recommend this establishment nor will we return.
Service was really slow. Food good, but pricey. Place looks great.
Food was great!! This is a new restaurant and was very busy. I think they are still working out the service side of the business as it seemed like our waitress had too many tables and it took a long time to get drinks and refills.
Cool new Brew Pub in a restored Bank Building with vault and old bank décor preserved. Ordered a beer and pizza for lunch and both were very good. Service was friendly and excellent. I think they may need to tweak menu as it seemed a little to high end for the East Troy area. I would return again.
It was very, very good. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. I do believe that next time we will be more specific as to request a table not by the bar. It was crowded and a very high noise level. Otherwise, it was fantastic and under budget again. We will be back. Thank you. So very glad to see that it was very busy and such a good waitstaff.
Love, love, love ET Brewery! The food, atmosphere and drinks are amazing!
Easily the best meal I've ever had. Some of the cocktails are hit or miss. (The Beekeeper isn't a great name for what the drink is.) Great beers, huge whiskey/bourbon list, outstanding wine pairing with my meal. I can't say enough about the overall quality of service and food. This is the restaurant equivalent of a big fish in a small pond.
My fiancé and I decided to try out the brewery for Valentine’s Day. And little did we know it’s not really a place where my 1 1/2 wanted to be so we had to take our food to go and couldn’t not sit and dine in. But when we got home with our food which was literally a 2 min drive, our food was very cold. I would hope that wouldn’t be how they serve it in the restaurant but I was very disappointed. We will try the place out again and dine in. Hopefully we get warm food next time.
Bison Ribs over polenta were fantastic! Our salads were really good, too, and not overly dressed. It was our second visit and both were really good. We will be back again.
Great atmosphre, great menu and food. Something different for the area. A tad noisy. Could use some sound panels in the space to absorb the noise. Love the look and feel. Will definitely be back.
Friendly place with excellent food and service. The only down side is it is crowded on the weekends and tables are somewhat cramped together in the bar area.
The brewpub was great! The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the beer was great, and the interior of the place was really cool (used to be a bank). Would definitely recommend!
Our first time at East Troy Brewery. We will definitely go back. Good was excellent. Decor was wonderful. Wait staff was young and inexperienced, that should improve with time. Overall very pleased.
4th visit. Local & really want to love this new gem in the Heart of ET. Fantastic home brews / great bourbon choices. Margherita & ETB flatbreads are great. Worth the drive but NOT FOR A FISHFRY. The 4pc Fri Fish Fry special for $25 was overpriced & under impressive. Hope they fix this...
Great place loads of history and great food .The couple that was with us really enjoyed the evening said they would come back and tell there friends about it
We had a wonderful experience Saturday evening! We reserved on line. We parked on the street and they do have a parking lot. Food and service was exceptional (it was very busy!) it was a bit noisy, but they are investigating their options! Interesting decor, keeping the bank and brewery theme! Check out their vault and penny floor! They were sold out of our 1st choice craft beer! I guess we will have to go back soon! I have already made reservations to bring a group of friends for lunch and looking forward to dining outside this summer!
