E'cco Bistro

The service was good though the staff were obviously busy, and the wine selection was great (though a bit overpriced at $99pp for the premium wines given the short pours), but the food really lacked flavour the night we were in - except the mushroom risotto which was great. Beautifully presented, but disappointing flavour-wise.

Overall it was a bit average - walked away feeling like it was overpriced for what it was. Which is a shame as we were really looking forward to coming, and were big fans of the old Ecco. Interestingly, I spoke to two other long time fans of Ecco who agreed that the food doesn’t have the punch it used to.

Fantastic food and service. The venue can be a bit noisy - looking at measures to soften surfaces to improve sound absorption would help. Very good experience nonetheless.

For me their Christmas menu (December set menu) seems old fashioned and not nearly to the usual standard I have come to expect from Ecco.

Your website shows that a festive set menu is "available", but does not state clearly that this is the only option, i.e. that there is no regular menu. That's a pretty major omission.

My only other issue is that the restaurant is really noisy, at least in the area we occupied. There could be some better noise dampers etc to try and reduce this.

Our meal was enjoyed by all and the atmosphere was perfect. The food is five start and we will be back to enjoy more of the delicious food they have to offer.

Perfect for a nice dinner.

Ecco was perfect for our Saturday night date night. We had the 5 course dego and the food was simply amazing, every course was on point. The ambiance was great,nice and private and could hear each other. Service was great. Finally the wine paired perfectly with my dishes. I didn’t get the full pairing but ended up ordering most on the list by the glass as they got better. Thanks team we will back.

Beautiful set menu - each course was carefully considered with a delicious combination of tastes. Great friendly service! Just lovely!

The food always fabulous but on the night were we there, a ‘new’ waiter was serving us and ther was issues with her level of service, eg leaked red on the table when pouring and didn’t wipe it from the table, didn’t place cutlery on the table and tossed the dessert spoon to the other side of table, bagged the plates down , when clearing was placing the cutlery on top and making loads of noise. Lent over the table to service courses rather than doing it from the side. She obviously doesn’t have the experience to work in one of the top restaurants in Brisbane. We felt this level of service was not conducive with the tempo of the restaurant and distracted us from a beautiful dinner. The one waiter was aware and then she took over the service towards the end of the night.
Minus the issue with the waiter it was a pleasant environment and we will be back in the future.

This was our third visit to the restaurant and as usual I was blown away by the amazing food, intimate setting and fabulous staff. I can't say enough good things about this place you must try it.

We sat in the corner behind the curtain and it was very comfortable. The shyer waitress was very nice and took time to explain the dishes, the other I assume more experienced one was a bit more rushed.

Beef was excellent, salmon was a little too salty for our palletes. Deserts were nice but I wondered if the cheese should be served on a dark plate and the cheesecake on a light plate.

Some of the plating was a little messy. E.g. Unknown liquid not wiped off

The food was an artistic balance of flavours and textures and totally divine. Our French server was warm and friendly. A must do restaurant for any Brisbanite wanting the wow factor experience.

E'cco Bistro has been a long time favourite of mine. The new set menus and pairing wines are amazing, the staff are so attentive and the ambience is perfect. Highly recommend.

We hadn't been to Ecco since their move, but it was great to see that the quality has stayed the same. The set priced menu for Friday lunch was good value - the food was generously proportioned and delicious as always. The only disappointment was that our first choice of a rose to accompany our fish was unavailable, and the wine we ended up with wasn't really suitable. Perusing the wine list on our phones is not an ideal way to see all the offerings.

I didn't realise that it was a degustation menu as some of the guests were adverse to some of the courses.
Nonethe less they tried very hard to compensate and replace some of those dishes.
