Outstanding service and food. We look forward to going back and experiencing the seasonally changing menus. Our server, Brian, was kind and knowledgeable. We will definitely look forward to dining here again
Fantastic food, cocktails, and staff. Small restaurant keeps it intimate. Open wood fired kitchen makes it a unique in Syracuse. Can’t wait to go back again!
Found out about Eden kind of by chance and decided to try it. So glad we did. Impressed with the food as well as the service. Sat at the bar. Bartender attentive but not overbearing. We order drinks, and he was very accommodating to the fact we were talking and didn’t order food for awhile. Once we did the food was unique and outstanding. Had a few small plates. Was a decent amount of food. Will be back!
Where do I start? We had an early dinner here and everything was top notch. We were greeted promptly, hung up our coats and seated promptly. Without going into detail everything we had was wonderful. Warm beet salad, cast iron roasted chicken, flank steak, and rice pudding with frozen orange and caramel popcorn was the order of the night for us. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor.
The ambiance was great. As soon as you walk in the smells from the wood fired grill invite you to sit and dine. Our waiter, Brian was great! He did a great job presenting the menu, making sure we had everything we wanted and just being enjoyable to be around. Actually all the staff we interacted with were wonderful. Pricing is not cheap but was worth everything we paid. We walked out after having a nice leisurely meal feeling refreshed and relaxed. Looking forward to our next visit.
Our dinner was excellent and our waiter James was great. We enjoyed some nice wines, we had three appetizers; scallops, salmon and beef carpaccio, all were excellent. Our entrees included the short ribs, the salmon and the flank steak. All were very good and everyone enjoyed the meal. Its my 4th time there and we'll definitely be back!!
First time at fairly new place. Food was inventive and delicious. More like NYC fare than typical offerings in CNY. Server was friendly, helpful and attentive. Ambience is OK but a bit ordinary commercial. Hope they are a success. Nice addition to the local options. Likely to return.
Fantastic new American cuisine cooked entirely in a wood fired kitchen! The kitchen is totally open at the end of the restaurant so you can see the chefs work their magic. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Just a wonderful experience! I’m so happy to have places like this is Syracuse!
Everything about Eden was amazing. Food was so good, service was outstanding. Definitely going back! 5 stars!!!
the Flank Steak that we had was tough and inedible.
My principal complaint about Eden is that the portion sizes are too large. It’s also delicious, so I wind up over-eating every time.
Food is good. tried oysters, octopus, beet salad, all were good. Main we took the special shanks and rabbit again well made.
Our server was very nice however i had to ask him for specials and he did not mention oysters which were not on the menu. Oysters were delicious so that would have been a loss.
. A little pricy for cny. Bring your own wine unless you like NY wines.
Eden was a mixed bag. One of our appetizers was amazing (the scallops). The other appetizer was okay (duck rillettes). In that one, the potatoes were cold, leaving us wondering if they were supposed to be that way. The duck was flavorless. One entrée was iffy--the monk fish. The fish was tough! The flavors did not meld well, and tough fish??? Hmmm.. The other entrée was also unsatisfactory. It was porchetta, which appeared quite ugly on the plate. Big slabs of pork, rather than the coiled dish we were expecting. It was tough and tasted like raw meat. (It needed a steak knife, but the restaurant does not have any.) We are not opposed to cooking pork so that it is pink, tender, and juicy, but the flavor here was not that. We ordered two different cheese plates for dessert, and they were excellent (a cheddar and a blue). The service was attentive and energetic. The cocktails were delicious, but skimpy. For $15, I'd like a full-sized drink. The visible kitchen staff seemed unkempt and we observed them eating and drinking. Didn't leave a good impression. We really wanted to love Eden. Not sure if/when we will return.
Food, service and atmosphere was excellent. Such a personal feel to this restaurant. Can't say enough good things. A must for anyone who is looking for good food, service and atmosphere
Catching dinner before a show. Excellent service and very sensitive to our time constraints.
Beautiful presentation and delicious food!
Everything from A to Z was exceptional. The meal was superb. The service was phenomenal. The ambiance was sublime. Thank you for everything.
Fortunate to be able to dine in the finest restaurants in NYC, Washington, Chicago, Boston , Florida etc. Eden is a gem in Syracuse. Truly a great dinning experience. From the original cocktail menu to the well thought out farm to table menu it’s by far the top restaurant in the greater Syracuse area. Hopeful that Eden has a long and successful road ahead.
Out for a Valentine's dinner with my wife we were seated at the same table as another couple. There was a pillow on the bench side to separate us. I personally do not prefer this type of seating, however if you're a four top the seating experience would be significantly better.
For the starters we had duck prosciutto and the warm beet salad. The duck seemed as though it was cured for a short period of time presenting a sort of wet texture, while some pieces where very tough. Unfortunately the range of textures makes me think something isn't quite right with the process. We also ordered the warm beet salad, an absolute treat. I love the classic combination of beets with goat cheese, and all of the ingredients seemed very fresh.
For the entrees I would recommend sticking with a basic menu item like steak or chicken, when ordering monk fish it was served overcooked and had a fairly fishy smell. We had dinner on a Saturday so I could have stayed away from the fish, though I wanted to see how it was prepared. Next time I'll order the fish on a Thursday. The flank steak was prepared perfectly and a much better choice in my opinion. The basics are done well here.
For the cost of a meal here I would recommend heading out to the Brewster Inn in Cazenovia or heading to a tried and true spot in Syracuse. I'm glad to see a restaurant with a different point of view and I appreciate that. I'd love to give it another try, when it's a party of four of course.
Great food, quaint & intimate spot. Would definitely go again!
Food is delicious and people who work there are great.
Our 2nd time there and definitely not our last. Our server James was awesome again! He had great recommendations. The home made carrot dressing was soooo good. We both got the short ribs and they were fantastic! We can't wait to go back
We always have such a great time at Eden. The wood fire smells amazing from outside the building and it’s so fun to watch the food being cooked. The menu is very creative and always changing slightly in great ways. For example: they always have a steak listed, but the sauces or cut may vary (all have been delicious.) Everything we have tried since they opened has been consistently good. This is a place that pays attention to detail. From their complimentary salad with house made dressing, to the sides that come with your entrees. Love that the carrots and potatoes that come with my steak are something I would even order on their own. Very over mushy restaurant broccoli and flavorless, gloopy mashed potato. You will not find that here. This is where you find attention to each piece of every plate. Go make your reservation or walk in and sit at the bar and have a great cocktail. You will be happy you went.
Service and food were excellent. The waiter couldn’t have been more helpful as we asked questions about the night’s menu. Everything was delicious. And he paced the meal beautifully, allowing us time to relax with cocktails a visit a bit before we ordered. I can’t wait to return.
We had a wonderful dinner at eden. The atmosphere is very cool. It’s a small restaurant with only 7 or 8 tables. Our server was experienced and it showed. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Overall a wonderful experience.
All was done with care. The waiter was very attentive. All courses were excellent. Nice touch to serve us Champaine as an anniversary gift. The quarters are a little tight and at first the music sounded too loud but we mentioned it and they must have changed the playlist to a softer tone.
Food was superb and the ambiance was great. Will be back.
Food was perfect! Waiter was great - love James! Ambiance was very good - I just didn’t like the chairs - but I am picky! The chef stopped at our table to check on us - love Rich! Will definitely return!
The dishes were all outstanding, interesting and different from what other restaurants in Syracuse area are doing. The meal was done and served with style AND friendliness, not stuffiness. Music was at a volume to complement the dinner while allowing conversation among the three of us. Expensive? Yes, and well worth it in every detail.
Love the service and food. My go to place when in Syracuse for fine dinning.
Love this place every time! Food is delicious and well executed, staff friendly, cocktail creative and delicious. Will go often.
We had a fun evening at Eden last week. It was fun to watch our food being cooked at the open fires. I had the fland steak chimmichuri. Delicious. The wait staff was attentive but not "in your face". We plan on coming back with friends soon. Recommend making reservations.
A lively and energetic farm to table. Craft cocktails, amazing small plates and wonderful service. I would definitely recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and we had a great waiter. Beet salad is fantastic. I had an amazing tortellini, which was lemony and delicious. Drinks were great too!
Lovely atmosphere....delicious food.👨🏼🍳
Craft cocktail menu seemed to have something for everyone.🍹🥃🥂
Was a bit chilly in the lower dining area.❄️
Looking forward to the next visit here.🤗
Seemed to be an all male staff....just sayin.
A refreshing experience with farm to table, local mission. 🥰
Eden tries to use only local produce and products that go from farm to table. Interestingly there was a fish on the menu from Mayorca, Spain. I have a big issue with only offering NYS wines and spirits. I love red wine and New York wines can not compete with wines from California, Oregon, and Washington. We tried samples of 5 red wines and 1 white wine and gave up on wine and ordered cocktails and craft beer. I dare say the Bourbon, as well, can not compete with that of Kentucky and Tennessee. My octopus appetizer was fine but a bit on the cool side. The sausage special was interesting but again served on the cool side. Not what I had expected, especially from the reviews. We were also placed at a table where, as with the food, it was a bit cool and drafty. Definitely a letdown. I would try the restaurant again but not with only NYS wines and spirits. Perhaps the owners should consider a BYOB night.
Wonderful service and food! The atmosphere was delightful.
Food was amazing. Best in Syracuse. Service was great as well.
The Flank Steak and Smashed Potatoes were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Service was excellent and the restaurant was busy. Would eat here again just not often. 2 people, no appetizers and 1 drink each totaled to over $100.
This was our first experience here and we'll certainly be back. The service was great, environment was impeccable, and the food was top notch.
The ambiance is modern open and friendly. The menu is diverse, and focused on local sourcing and intelligent interesting combinations. The execution is meticulous, flawless and mouth-watering delicious. There is no better restaurant in the Syracuse area.
