70 degrees in late October sitting outside in Syracuse’s Hannover Square at Eden was outstanding with impeccable food and friendly service. Craft cocktails, fresh food perfectly prepared.
The place is pretty good and is definitely worth a visit but I didn't find it all that amazing given the reputation. Our appetizers (butternut squash ravioli) were good but only luke warm. Our mains (grilled bok choy and strip steak) were hit and miss. The steak was cooked nicely and the dish made sense in composition. The bok choy was disappointing. I think the issue is that this place is built around open fire cooking, was founded on animal proteins, and has not really yet succeeded in welcoming vegetarians. If the philosophy is stripped down rustic food, why add soy sauce jelly? That aside, if you're leaning into asian flavor profiles there (bok choy and soy), why then add pureed butternut squash? The dish just didn't really make sense together. Finally the apple crisp was a bit disappointing. Again, I think the concept didn't quite work. I get that it was supposed to be rustic but it was so overloaded with herbs (did I taste lavender?) it was a bit like chewing on potpourri. All that said, I'm not trying to be totally negative. The concept is good and the execution on the basics (like cooking a steak) is great. I just think it could be tightened up a bit so the details are right.

We love dining at Eden. It is a dining experience that is truly special. The food and drinks are crafted from local sources, and deliciously wielded by Chef. It is always a fantastic evening spent at Eden.
This place was absolutely amazing. The service was wonderful and the food was out of this world. We received an amuse-bouche and a small green salad with our meals. The server also let my husband try a high end rye whisky on the house. When our meal was finished we were surprised with two large glasses of champagne for our anniversary. Looking forward to heading back to this place whenever we get a chance!

Everything about Eden was amazing! We loved that all the food and the bar were sourced locally/regionally. It was a great way to experience all the tastiness the Syracuse area has to offer. The food was thoughtful, the drinks were delicious, and the service was tremendously friendly. I am still talking about how amazing the tomatoes in my panzanella were!
Impeccable service. Chef adjusted seasoning of one dish as needed for special diet. Unique and delicious seasonal drink choices- n/a and alcoholic. Birthday celebration- was perfect! And felt very safe dining inside. Can’t recommend enough- stellar experience!

Eden is heaven on earth! I have been a few times and I have never been disappointed. This night I brought two friends who had never been before and it was such a joy to watch them enjoy t as much as I. One friend is gluten-free and they made changes to meet her dietary necessity.
The chef, Rich Strub, had made a delicious tomato sauce to accompany the sweet corn ravioli with its kale & goat cheese. The sauce on its own is outstanding, but as the goat cheese mixed with the sauce, it was so silky and took on a whole new flavour. It was so satisfying. For dessert they served grilled nectarines over a honey-covered puffed rice with Chantilly cream. I'm not sure what herb was used, but this was a very refined dessert.
From the friendly and professional service throughout from James and Brian to the incredible food profiles coming from the kitchen, Eden is THE place to visit again and again and again.

Birthday dinner. Lovely dinner outside. We had the entire menu and it was all great. Would be a very limited menu for very picky or narrow diners- but for us it was fabulous. Was fun to eat in the middle of downtown on a quiet city park ambiance!

Sculpted food that tells a story of the ingredients. Cooked perfectly and flavors are well thought out. Service was good, but we waited 45 minutes before we ordered. Might be due to COVID, but still.
The cocktail was tasty, though it could have used a bit more bourbon. The wine Tokai (or Tokay) was good after some of the hard chill dissipated. The entree, hangar steak, was quite good. Eden is a good restaurant...unique to this town.
This was a lovely evening in every way. Fantastic service, amazing food. Just scrumptious. Can't wait to go back.

One of the best finds in Syracuse - a real hidden gem that instantly became a new favorite! Farm to table never looked or tasted so good and I highly recommend giving Eden a try. Indoors or outdoors you are sure to have a memorable experience!
We sat inside on a beautiful evening. All precautions were taken by patrons and staff to maintain safety. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, providing recommendations for drinks and entrees. Food was delicious, with just the right portions and all flavors blending well together. Drinks were fabulous! Love the farm to table concept and use of local products.

The atmosphere is relaxing while still being upbeat. Very visually pleasing inside and the smell of the wood-fired grill is incredible. The freshness and the flavors of the food are perfect. One of if not the best meal I've ever had in Syracuse as a life-long resident. This was my first time and I will make it a regular experience going forward.

We had an excellent dinner at Eden in Syracuse with dishes made with farm-to-table ingredients. The chicken with baba ghanoush was excellent as was the pasta dish. We will definitely come back!

Everything was great, and the food was quite delicious! We enjoy supporting local restaurants that get their ingredients from farms all over NYS, and this restaurant is raising the bar on the term “farm to table.” Plus the cocktails were spot on too!
