Hostess very abrupt and not very welcoming. Don’t be late!

This is a beautiful inn. We were seated in the lower level bar area, candlelight, fireplace, very quiet and well spaced. The bartender was our server and he was very nice. Ordered the ribeye and the vegetable dish, and beet salad. Food was absolutely delicious! Loved every minute here.

Always the loveliest! Thank you so much for a beautiful evening, as usual!

We love coming here a couple of times a season. A Real Treat!

Wonderful place!

Lovely classic farmhouse with comfortable but sophisticated ambience and attentive service. Food was presented beautifully and truly delicious. Good wine selection and knowledgeable staff. So glad we ventured out on cold and snowy night, to dine by a fireplace in this rustic retreat.

I am all about customer service and food. This restaurant exceeded our expectations. The food was to die for and the service was excellent. This is a go to restaurant when in Stowe and I am certain that it is the best!

The food was delicious- a fall driven menu with upscale comfort food - and really, the best meal we had in Stowe amongst many great meals. The restaurant is so cozy and beautifully decorated. Our waitress was friendly and gave great service.
However the manager/host was rude- we went on Halloween which is also my boyfriend’s birthday and were dressed up, received such a pretentious response, and were told our reservation was showing up as cancelled. I tried to show him my app with the confirmed reservation, but he didn’t even pretend to look, and said he could see what they could do. He quickly had our table switched out of the main dining room, I assume to hide us from the majority of guests.
Again, it was Halloween. We came from NYC with its share of pretentious restaurants, and even they welcome holiday celebrations... I think the manager needs to live a little and the restaurant should assimilate to the Stowe vibe we so enjoyed everywhere else.

The food was amazing. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Stowe. The atmosphere was nice, very cozy and sexy. However my boyfriend and I were seated at a couch and coffee table in the center of the room. While it was near a fireplace and very romantic, it was challenging to eat sitting this way. We also had 8:30 reservations and didn’t know that the kitchen stopped taking orders at 9 so we felt a bit rushed. But otherwise everything was wonderful! Get the venison tartare!!

I'm still thinking about the duck fat potatoes from my meal a few nights ago! The whole meal was fantastic from our fries brussels sprouts appetizer to our entrees (duck and ribeye) to the chocolate tart for dessert. My Manhattan was fabulous, the atmosphere and service were divine, and the prosecco to celebrate our anniversary was a lovely touch. One of the best meals we've ever had!

Always a great meal! The bar area, specifically, is our absolute favorite nook of the place so thrilled we could reserve it this past weekend. Our waiter, who's name escapes me at the moment, is really approachable and knowledgeable. We will be back soon!

My wife and I ate at Edson Hill on our honeymoon in Stowe. It’s a very cool place, very intimate atmosphere, and the food was incredible.

This was our first time and it won't be our last. Food was out of this world and the ambiance was wonderful. It would be a great place to celebrate a special occasion!

Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in the world! The experience starts as you enter the gates of Edson Hill. We’ve dined here many times and have had a branded experience every single time. The decor is impeccable and nuanced. The menu is creative and comforting. 5 star experience every time!

We started out with a couple of salads. I had a grilled radicchio salad that was flawlessly put together and my wife had the kale salad which was equally well done. The fried Brussel sprouts were amazing. I had a perfectly cooked beef tenderloin with duck fat potatoes. The beef, sauce and potatoes blended together perfectly. If I hadn’t loaded up on the sprouts and two local IPAs from the Alchemist and Hillside Farms I would have ordered a second entree. My wife’s halibut was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The forbidden rice that it was served over had more of a savory chutney consistency than rice. Every detail was flawlessly executed. You feel like you’re in an episode of Newhart. Top 5 meal of all time.

Great place. Went twice in a row because we loved it so much!! Pork Shank and Lamb Borganion were phenomenal.

The food and ambiance was excellent. The service was attentive and professional, and the tavern was a great spot to enjoy a cocktail or an entire meal. Will definitely be bringing friends again.

Beautiful setting. Food was expertly prepared. Good selection. Service could have been more professional. Quite a lag between courses. These are minor quibbles.

We discovered this gem last year and always make a point to go while we are in town. It’s an hour trip when the notch is closed, but well worth the drive. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. We love the managers, Peter and Robin! You won’t be disappointed with this experience. The bar downstairs is cozy and they have great cocktails as well!
