El Burrito Mercado Restaurant - St. Paul

Very fun place. The night we were there they had live musicians. Very fun. Food was good. Give yourself time to wander around in the market after dinner.

Our server was great; very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was authentic. Enjoyed the Mariachi Band!

Being from Texas it was unusual to ask for tacos and be told on a Saturday that they only had chicken tacos. No fajita beef for the burrito only shredded beef. The margarita tasted like ice with a drop of liquor so it was sent back. Other than that it was decent.

It’s a great atmosphere and yes it’s noisy once the mariachi starts playing and singing but it’s fun. Great server! Food. Was. Bad. Ugh. I’m mad because I love the place. Chips had no flavor. Salsa was not good. My burrito was ok. Sigh. I’ll go again.

The staff was great. They were very patient with my aunt and uncle who didn’t really know Mexican food. They let me order something from the lunch menu even though it was dinner. And the even brought me a piece of cake for my birthday.

Lunch buffet always has many good choices. The food is warm and refreshed as needed. Salsa de aguacate and the jalapeño sauce are amazing.

They were short staffed to handle the number of guests. We needed to get up to locate our waiter who was washing dishes.

Great service and tasty authentic food

We had a walk through the market, finding Mexican foods, spices, bakery and pottery/crafts that brought back great memories, then we were seated in the bar/dining room for dinner. We started with fresh margaritas and chips with 2 salsas and fresh guacamole: really good. Our dinners were fine, too (burritos with choice of filling and carne asada sopes. We also enjoyed desserts (flan and tres leches chocolate cake): delicious! Just as we were about to leave, a band started playing and they were great. It was such a pleasure to go back to Burrito Mercado again! (I'm reserving "outstanding" for the most terrific food I've ever eaten).

chips and salsa should be no charge as it is in most other mexican restaurants.....too far a drive to be nickeled and dimed over an appitizer

Hi! I only gave service four stars because they were super busy. We were very pleased with the whole experience - ambiance, food, service, etc. We will likely become regulars.

The staff was fantastic. Food was delicious. Free chips and salsa would have pushed my rating up a notch. Most Mexican restaurants will give those free, but it was added to our $130 bill.

Excellent service and meals. I had steak fajitas and they were excellent my colleagues the tacos. Great value, service, and ambiance. Definitely coming back

Each person at our table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Fantastic food! The patio is spacious and comfortable. Felipe is an excellent server. We will definitely go back soon.

I haven't been to El Burrito Mercado since they added the sitdown restaurant. We'll be back often. I found the server a bit hard to understand at times, and lacking in polish, but he was pleasant and efficient. Food was fantastic! Nicely decorated too, and the bar looked attractive.

Our first time dining there, we enjoyed the traditional Mexican food and margaritas at an early dinner.

Great authentic Mexican food. And delicious margaritas also. You can enjoy a sitdown dining service or a cafeteria-style deli. It is also attached to an authentic Mexican market or you can buy ingredients for your own Mexican cooking. Very interesting and very fun experience.p

I had an amazing time with friends! The food was tasty, the cocktails strong and the music was perfect. I will be back!

I have been to El Burrito Mercado several times however the group I was there with on March 13th hadn't been. They all LOVED the food and was very happy to have to introduced to this great spot. They will return as will I ...

Great place to bring a group. Most of us chose the buffet. And there were menu options for the vegetarians in the group. I love food that's hot but doesn't burn the mouth.

We have been to this restaurant many times. The Mexican food is very good and is one of the restaurants we go to for extremely authentic food. We will definitely be back again.
