   This place is very cute, with a great vibe and aesthetic. The food is tasty with traditional Peruvian dishes. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meal, we all had chaufa-related dishes. Service was attentive. The prices are on the higher side of mid-range, but I enjoyed my meal and experience and would return again. This place would be great for date night, girls night, and celebrating a special occasion.

    Food was good but my lomo saltado was a little overcooked. Everything had cilantro and not everybody loves it. Service was very good.

    It was great, we had the octopus, mixed ceviche and seafood rise and everything was delicious! We celebrated my sister’s birthday and they came with a candle and two glasses of champagne! That was very nice and we truly appreciate it.

    It’s no secret that El Secreto is one of the best little restaurants in metro DC. Guests are welcomed and pampered from the front door to goodbyes. Service is cheerful, wait staff helpful, food excellent (though I’ve stuck to small plates).

    What an amazing experience it was to dine at this fine restaurant. The food quality was outstanding and the restaurant staff were beyond attentive. I’m truly grateful that we chose El Secreto de Rosita to celebrate a special moment together. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the DC area.

    Great ambiance; pisco sours were on point (I'm Peruvian!). The anticuchos, grilled pulpo, pescado a lo macho were delicious, and their respective sauces highlighted the Peruvian 'secret' ingredients. Since we had theater tickets, the friendly service and staff were very accommodating to our needs. I recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to return!

    The restaurant was well decorated; the food was delicious and the service was attentive. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the scallops which were delicious and steered us away from the non-gluten free foods. The bar was busy so our drinks took too long but that's my only critique.

    Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Greeted with a complimentary glass of bubbly! Split a few appetizers and a ceviche. Delicious pisco drinks (particularly the Chicha morada)

    We absolutely will be back! We celebrated my husband’s birthday here with a small group of friends. The staff were kind and accommodating when i realized i had accidentally booked the wrong night. The restaurant is beautiful. The ambiance was cozy and happy. The service was impeccable abd we loved the vibe. The drinks were ridiculously delicious and we couldn’t stop ordering. Food was delish. I can’t wait to go back.

    The drinks were good and the portion size was great, but service was slow and I was disappointed that we were tucked into a small separate room and couldn’t fully experience the ambiance of the main dining room because I was really looking forward to that when I was finally able to secure a reservation. The food was good but I’m not sure it was worth the price or the trouble.

    Food was amazing, the arroz con mariscos is to die for. The only issue I had was that the appetizer came out with the entrees, and the drinks took a while to get to our table, although the server did brought some champagne to make up for it.

    We were sat right away - and the waitress immediately provided a craft of water and brought us the menu. We ordered drinks and a appetizer (ceviche) both were good. Main courses were extremely carb heavy with no substitute at all— so that was a let down. I had the seafood dish that was served over a massive amount of black rice. The portions of seafood to rice was about 1/5 seafood to rice— and that is me being generous. We did have an opportunity to meet the owner on our way out — and that was a nice touch. Supposedly he’s never in DC —

    My sister was craving Peruvian food. It was a sister date with my 18 month old son. He is teething so we wanted soft food items for him. We requested a side of plantains and French fries. We were told by the chef, they couldn’t accommodate our request for plantains because the restaurant doesn’t operate in this manner. It was brutally cold outside to leave so we decided to push through. We ordered our food; requested the rib eye well done because of preference and nursing reasons (regardless it’s my choice on the temp). When the food was brought out, it was medium rare and both dishes had to be returned. We arrived upon opening and clearly the restaurant was not ready for service. We were the only table being served and despite the lack of tables, the service left much to desire.

    Terrible food. Rice had clearly been cooked several hours earlier or even a day earlier. Fish was overcooked. Ceviche was doused in lime so no other flavor came through. Quantities were a joke. They couldn't have given me a smaller piece of carrot cake if they tried.
