Service was fantastic
We 2 couples shared the day's special-black sea bass. It was perfectly grilled, and we all found it delicious! The food was all excellent, from the appetizers-fried thin slices of zucchini and eggplant, to the dips, and the side dishes.
Wonderful meal at a quiet, roomy table downstairs.
We were so happy to enjoy a fresh, Greek meal with lovely wine in an atmosphere with professional service throughout.
We can’t wait to return and we will bring our friends.
Consistently amazing! Best restaurant on the UWS!
I use to love this place but went 2 Fridays in a row and the service was terrible. Food is great. Maybe sit at the bar.
Signed up on OpenTable to have dinner on February 14. We had no idea that the only meal offered was a fixed price for $85. We decided to stay and have dinner. Food was fair. Presentation of the food was fair. Waiter was just fair. Disappointing.
Always good. enjoyed Fava and shallot spread...fish was excellent...Monday night the wine was 50% off!
Food was good, we had 3 grandchildren with us, aged 10 and 12 and they had a great time. The only problem was a language issue with the busboy who didn’t understand any English and we found that rather annoying.
I am also wondering if I was given the open table points since there was no email saying so.
It was a nice meal. The portion sizes were smaller than expected but the sangria was great
I went to restaurant week wirh my parents for brunch. Very delicious, super cute place. Would recommend to anyone who were to ask
Beautiful atmosphere, great food and terrific client care.
We love Elea and the food is amazing. However the service on this particular evening was awful. Our waiter was friendly but seemed like he forgot about us the whole meal. Our wine arrived ten minutes after the food and they didn’t refill our glasses. We were finished for a while and they didn’t clear our food. They forgot one of the teas at the end of the night. Seemed strange bc there were a ton of busy looking service people but no one was focused.
Lovely! A really nice meal with great service
Attractive setting and inviting atmosphere; service was prompt and friendly. Appetizers inventive and flavorful but main course ( fish ) was soggy and bland.
Ask for the downstairs room if you prefer a more formal setting. Upstairs has a large bar for a social drink, casual dining and also tables if you like a lively atmosphere.
My favorite go to on the upper west side. Highly recommend!
Great neighborhood spot for upscale Greek food.
Nicely prepared and fresh fish dishes. Service was attentive but overly rehearsed. Seating is sardine-like in upstairs dining room and not terribly pleasant. Staff can barely slide in-between tables to serve and clear plates. A few less tables would make for a far more inviting and pleasant experience. Overall, decent food for the neighborhood but overpriced for the experience.
Wonderful. Accommodating and good menu. Food was fresh and elegantly presented
Everything was Outstanding!!! From the hostess, bartender, servers and great good, it was all outstanding. I’ll be back here again and again. Can highly recommend Elea.
Delicious Greek food!
Perfection on UWS
Prefer to be upstairs next time. Good food and fun environment
Consistently excellent food and service and a fabulous lychee martini.
We went for lunch and it was restaurant week so there was a special. I ordered the chicken souflaki which came on pita and with fries and tzatsiki sauce on the side. Unfortunately there was hardly any chicken, very tiny pieces, on the 2 brochettes I received so the main serving was of pita and fries. Tasted good but if I wanted a carb meal I would have ordered a carb main dish! Have been to this restaurant a fair amount since it opened, live in the ‘hood and this makes me wary of going back though I love the ambience. Hope they will rectify this issue!
The appetizers and mains we had were delicious, but the desserts just OK. The staff is very pleasant. They even have a coat check, which deserves a bonus star.
Elea is now my favorite restaurant in Manhattan ! Tonight was my third visit in 5 weeks. I love everything about Elea ! The food is so delicious and the menu choices are unusual and creative and always perfectly prepared and seasoned. My favorites are the cauliflower fritters which I have never had but are one of the best dishes I have ever had, the tavern style lamb chops and for dessert the creamy, pistachio seasoned ekmek. I have introduced Elea to 3 friends all of whom enjoyed it as much as I do !
We love the freshness of the food. The service is exceptional. We have eaten here many times. It never disappoints!
We've come 4x now and noticed a few constants: 1) energy always high and buzz great, 2) food - especially zucchini chips, fried cheese and all the white fish - is top-notch, 3) interesting (all Greek) wines with nice pours, and 4) even with a reservation, you inevitably wait for at least 20 minutes. So before going every time, my wife and I have to decide whether 1, 2 & 3 are good enough to have to put up with 4.
Elea is a very good, not brilliant, neighborhood Greek restaurant. We are very lucky to have them on the UWS. The ingredients do not overwhelm, as they do, say at Milos, but Milos costs twice what Elea does. The food is solid. My one complaint is that the servers should stop UpSelling us. If we want more to eat, we will order more. Their UpSelling is very annoying and makes me pause when I think to reserve.
In every way, dining at Elea is wonderful. We are SO lucky that it has made its home on the Upper west Side.
Dishes were prepared to perfection! Our servers allowed us the time we needed to make our decisions. Each dish was delicious! I would highly recommend Elea!
Great food, lovely service.
Excellent service delicious food. We will be back!
Truthfully, I haven’t invested enough time towards reviewing my dining experiences. But Elea was so good — so good that I was inspired to write a review.
What was good? The location is super cool: a bar situated in one quadrant of the main dining area, small but cozy tables fill the remaining floor space, candles and some dim lighting paint the white wood backdrop, and there’s also overflow seating in a basement level.
Also, we visited Elea on a Monday night when the restaurant offers 50% off wine. Unheard of given the beautiful selection they offer. The salad and the dip selection we had were both fresh and clean, and at this point the table was packed when you account for the warm loaf of bread and extra pita that arrived. For our mains we had the octopus and lamb chops, respectively, which were unsurprisingly great.
The only oddity here was the number of glasses / dishes that broke during our few hours dining. The staff is super responsive when it comes to clean-ups, but the frequency has to be tied to either the size of the tables or to the stoppers on the bottom of the chairs (super strong, I pushed my seat out while leaning on the table, nothing moved). This isn’t a problem at all, just comical.
Great food, great experience, highly recommend
We've been here several times and the food seems to get better and better. The service is very friendly and helpful, although not always super efficient. The only meaningful minus is that it can get blisteringly hot in the downstairs dining room. They desperately need better HVAC.
Appetizers are wonderful, service very good menu great. Our main courses were flavorless. Very disappointed
They surprised us with a birthday dessert which was very nice
I really like the place and would come back for lunch snd appetizers
The food is always terrific and as well as the service
The restaurant was empty at six and got quite full later. Our table in the back was warm, tables near the stairs were cooler, most of the seats are downstairs. Food was good but I was disappointed in the feta appetizer which I've had better prepared elsewhere.
