Elia features Mediterranean inspired cuisine, in contemporary atmosphere. Elia - a stunning new Modern Mediterranean restaurant - is now open in the heart of Wicker Park.
Elia (Greek for “olive tree”) pulls inspiration from Greece, Italy, France, Spain, and other Mediterranean countries and translates those flavors and techniques into Elia’s soups, salads, spreads, small plates, mains, sides, and desserts.
Beverage-wise, Elia boasts 12 handcrafted specialty cocktails, 24 wines sourced from around the world available by the bottle and glass, 10 craft draft beers,100+ spirits spirits, and non-alcoholic offerings as well.
Elia features 90 interior seats - including a glassed-in private dining room that doubles as the restaurant’s wine cellar - along with 60 seats on the restaurant’s sidewalk patio.
Sprawling imported Mediterranean wall murals of golds, blacks, and off-whites; original imported artwork; and mid-century modern lighting round out the restaurant’s stunning interior.

    Very nice ambience. We’ll decorated and looks like a nice upper scale restaurant. We went on Sunday of Labor Day. The restaurant was very slow, maybe 4 tables outside and three inside, out of at least 40 table capacity at minimum, it took 25 min for our drinks to be delivered. Beet quinoa salad came with a Champaign vinaigrette but in reality tasted like it was just tossed in olive oil. We were a table of 4 and two of us order the lamp chips. The two plates were completely imbalance. One plates was served with for mini and very thin chops while the second plate had for larger thick chips. What food expediter looks at those plates in the pass going to the same table and thinks it’s fine to send. At the very minimum rearrangement two of the chops across the plates. I can’t even excuse them for being busy. It was a very slow night for them.

    The service was extremely slow and inattentive. Once we did receive the food we ordered it was lackluster and under seasoned. I was really excited to try this restaurant but unfortunately won’t be back anytime soon.

    Unfortunately this was just awful from the start. Server didn't understand my drink order Vodka on the rocks. It came 3 times vodka with soda.... really and the forth time it was barely an ounce pour ..... we left it's a shame didn't stay for dinner and restaurant was empty at 7;00 pm

    We went there for a date night. The food was terrible. The hummus was delivered with tortilla chips that came out of a bag. The chicken wings tasted like someone just put sweet baby rays bbq sauce on them. The salad was bland and tomatoes were mushy. The interior is beautiful though. So sad, I had high hopes.

    Food quality was disappointing. Table bread was stale, dips served with old tortilla chips, the dessert tasted like refrigerator. The muscles were tiny and drenched in a cream sauce. The service was very slow for a nearly empty restaurant The restaurant interior was beautiful and in a great location. The atmosphere was dull as it was rather empty inside on a Wednesday night. The music was excessively loud to make up for the lack of customers

    The best! We had incredible food and the service was the best I’ve ever had! They were attentive and our server, Denise, was fantastic and made our celebration lunch even more special. Thank you so so much for a memorable experience!

    Had high hopes for this restaurant based on its menu and location. However, we left a bit disappointed. The drinks were good, but the food was very average at best. The beet hummus was good, but the bread and pita were clearly store bought and had a stale/freezer burnt quality. The zucchini fritters were the best food item we ordered. The marbled potatoes were fine, but nothing too extraordinary. The pasta was covered in a cream sauce that was very bland and underseasoned. It also had a freezer burnt quality. Additionally, there was a lot outdoor seating available, but a dog was still allowed to sit indoors which I found interesting. I don’t think we will be coming back unless the quality of the food improves.

    I went last night and fined on the patio- Elia was a fantastic dining experience! Ozlem was our server and was very attentive and great explaining the menu. The drinks were delicious!! The entire staff are very friendly and very accommodating. If you're looking for great food and relaxed (and fun!) ambiance, I highly recommend Elia. There was a bachelorette party and birthday and they lean into celebrating their guests.

    Fantastic new place on Division! We had short rib and risotto as main dishes. Short rib was fall off the bone tender, risotto was cooked perfectly and great flavoring. Will definitely be returning!

    Elia was great - our service was great. We ordered the Atom dip, the shrimp, the burrata salad, and more. Everything was awesome except the shrimp - a little too fishy for us - we only had one bite. Service was excellent and we'll probably go back to try more items on the menu.

    Food was decent, service was poor. We asked twice to sit out outside when a larger table was available and they never moved us outside. Among all the options on Division this doesn’t stand out.

    The vibe here was super cool but unfortunately the food wasn’t as good. The mussels were fishy, the watermelon in the burrata salad was mealy and the hummus was just bland. Cocktails were tasty!

    This is a new version of an older restaurant in the same setting by the same owners. They upgraded the setting and the menu and it shows. The restaurant is an open setting which is visually appealing but does contribute to the place being loud. The food was excellent. The grape leaves were very good and the main courses that we had were all excellent - branzino, salmon, and chicken. Nicely cooked and the couscous on the branzino very tasty. The celery root had a bit too much vinegar for my taste but my dinner mates enjoyed it. Especially amazing were the baklava with homemade ice cream on the side. Very original and delicious. The only mar on the evening was the loud music which we asked them to turn down which they did and then turned up again. Made it tough to have a conversation. Next time we'll eat outside.

    Overall, pretty disappointing. Highlights were the Horiataki salad and crispy dumplings. The Aubergne (smoked bell pepper dip) came with 4 miniature pieces of pita— scarcely enough for one person, let alone 4. It also had celery and carrot sticks that tasted old, not fresh. The Branzino entree was barely 2 ounces of fish for $34 (!). It was mostly couscous piled on top to hide the skimpy portion. I asked who got the other half of my fish! Pasta dishes were meh. You could get better at Noodles. Calamari were good, but no better than what you can find almost anywhere. Octopus was very fishy tasting. Cavernous dining room looks good but has extremely poor acoustics — the din made it almost impossible to talk and the place was only a third full. Service was very pleasant, but that didn’t save the day. There are many far superior Mediterranean options in Chicago like Aba and Ema. Try those instead.

    I just love coming to Elia Restaurant. Always fast and great service, good food, and great drinks as well. The prices are reasonable for the deliciousness of the foods. Portions and presentarion of the foods are well-sized. I recommend.

    Ozlem was our server and she was AMAZING! this place just opened so service was a tad slow but she was so considerate and helpful. Drinks were amazing. Food was standard mediterranean, nothing special but a nice impromptu meal.

    The failures at Elia seemed like the problems of a new restaurant. This place has potential, but we wont be back for quite some time. Really disappointed with our mojitos and 3 out of the 4 dishes we ordered. The fourth, which we liked, had different ingredients than was described on the menu.

    We came to eat in Elia with couple of my friends and we enjoyed everything so much we came again. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food is delicious. We had the main dishes and I loved the lamb. Everything was so good.

    I was excited to go to Elia for a long time and I am glad I came. Firstly the restaurant itself was really beautiful. I got dozens of pictures here just because of that. Food was delicious and served to us quickly. Would definitely recommend.

    The ambience and service was great! However, the food was 50/50 for me. Some of the meals were good and some were subpar. The grape leaves were severely underdone, the rice was hard/raw. I really hope they figure that out because I’d love to see this place be a success!

    Food was fantastic. They were definitely overwhelmed due to a festival happening on Division that drove a lot of traffic into the restaurant, and they were unable to give us the outdoor table we reserved. It took 20 minutes after getting seated just to get water. However, the waitress was apologetic and offered us several plates of bread as well as a free wine tasting. Overall, the food was amazing, and I would definitely go back. The only permanent downside is that it gets LOUD in there and hard to hear the wait staff and the people at your table because it's an open space with no sound absorption anywhere. Some rugs or acoustic panels on the ceiling would do wonders to make it a less yell-y environment.

    We were very excited to celebrate with friends at this restaurant, but unfortunately the service was terrible and the food was mediocre. It took 20+ minutes to receive our drinks and we sat there for about 1.5 hours before anyone came to take our order. While we understand this is a new restaurant, we still expect good service and people who know how to take care of their guests.

    Dining outdoors was lovely. The food was excellent. I wouldn’t recommend the cocktail I had as it wasn’t very flavorful or boozy. Look at your bill carefully. We were charged twice for a $16 cheese plate and when we brought it to the waiter’s attention, he tried to fix it, but said the system was double charging for it and they couldn’t remove the charge. He did take $16 off as a discount on the bill, but I wonder how many other people have been double charged without realizing it.
