   We finally decided to give them a try and boy were we impressed! We shared an Italian salad and a pizza with caramelized onions, sausage and gouda....it was delicious. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. We will be back!

   Being born and raised in Detroit, I grew up eating Detroit pizza. When I took a bite of this GF pizza, I was immediately transported to Northwestern Hwy, to the home of the first Detroit pizza. Emmy Squared is so so authentic and delicious! It was such a treat to eat something that was so tasty and nostalgic!!! Amazing food!

   Service was AWFUL. After 20 minutes we flagged down a server who said he wasn’t our server but would take our order. We ordered right then. Only 2 of the 3 food items we ordered came, only 1 of 3 drinks came and it was wrong! Food is amazing but not worth the terrible service. Go to Shaw instead!!

   We went for a late lunch on a Monday. The staff was lovely. Both our hostess and server were warm and welcoming. We were excited that Emmy has locations in DC after having gone to the Williamsburg and WV Emily location a lot over the years. Unfortunately the food was not the same and really disappointing. The marinated cucumbers were overly dressed and inedible. Our server kindly took them back and we heard whoever was in the kitchen yell about it being sent back. Classic. Salad was watery and mediocre (ate it anyways bc we were hungry and had already sent the cucumbers back). The burger was over cooked and buns had gotten soggy and barely held shape. The only comparable item was the pizza. Thankfully, that was good.

   Booked and went for reservation. Host tells us that they are not accepting reservations and the system is not working. When in reality, they did not want to seat anymore people.

   Not great. The waiter messed up our order and then the kitchen forgot to re-fire it and everyone at the table had eaten their entire meal before I got mine. I was still charged for the pizza and the receipt had the wrong order on it. The pizza is delicious, the staff are unorganized but friendly. This place has potential but doesn’t seem like everything runs smoothly. Also really confused about why the waiter did not bring us our drinks until after our appetizers had arrived. Also the waiter said the manager would stop by and he or she never did. I don’t think I’d ever come back which is a shame because the pizza is pretty good for DC.

    The pizza was delicious, but the service left little to be desired. If you cant handle multiple tables, you shouldn't be a server. It was super awkward after our server fought for a 10 top table in front of us, and then forgot that he had other tables. The first time in my life that I did not leave at least a 20% tip.

    Had dinner with a friend and as always the food is great. Love their standard pie with pepperoni. A nice deep dish square pie. Drinks are also awesome and location is great.

    Not welcoming! When seated at 8:20, told immediately the restaurant closed at 9:00. Had to wait to order, all agreed it was stressful! Took forever to get cocktails. The vibe was not good, servers seemed unhappy. Not the same experience as their other location which is fun and a well oiled machine. Food was great though, we had to eat fast!

    The pizza was very good. The service was super hit and miss. Some was pretty terrible (our waitress forgot our drinks and an appetizer and didn't check on us for ages- we had to clear our own dishes out of the way when new food came, etc.) and some was above and beyond (Chef Matt went out of his way to make sure our order was fixed and we got everything we needed). The food was really good but the bizarre service kind of left a bad taste in our mouth.

    Lovely food, but HUGE pizzas. We were encouraged to get a starter by the server, as the pizzas may have taken a while, but we were almost too full when they arrived to finish the pizzas. Go there hungry and don’t get a starter

    We love Emmy Squared and have always had great experiences at the Old Town and Shaw locations. Unfortunately, the service received at the Navy Yard location wasn’t up to the same standards. When we arrived we weren’t greeted and it seems the staff working the day we dined wasn’t happy to be there. It was my husbands birthday and the food was great but would recommend the other locations over this one.

    Casual dining before walking over to Nationals Park. HUGE portions! We couldn’t decide on which toppings we wanted so we got 4 pies, and they all came home with us (minus a slice or two) Detroit style is quite filling so plan accordingly. The restaurant was busy, not crowded, and the service was timely and attentive on a Saturday dinner shift Overall 4.5 stars

    Pizza took a long time to arrive at the table (40 min?) even though there were only a few other groups there when we were there. Our server only came by like 4 times over maybe an hour and a half, and we had to ask another person who worked there for water refill and extra napkins. This was especially weird as the restaurant was pretty empty and there were like 10 people on the restaurant staff just hanging out at the bar or by the front. We did have like 4 different people come by to serve our table or ask how everything was, which was nice but a little unusual as well. I would have preferred a single, more attentive waiter.

    Went here before a large concert. The restaurant was crowded and dealing with a large amount of people trying to eat before the show. The staff was amazing in managing the madness. The server smartly warned us the kitchen was backed up, but when the food came out it was tasty and we will definitely be back sometime soon. The staff deserves a standing ovation for their work ethic!

    The food was fine but the service was absolutely terrible. It took more than 30 minutes to get one pitcher of sangria and one margarita, and we had to walk up to the bar to ask for it after asking two different servers about our order. Not worth the trouble or the money.

    The pizza was great so no complaints there. The chicken crunchers weren’t that good though. One cup was dirty and one drink had black stuff floating, but the servers were gracious about swapping them out. They told us that one pizza was enough for 2 people but we ended up needing to buy two.

    Unfortunately after a few good experiences, this weekend my wife and I stopped in for a quick bite and had an awful experience. From the moment we walked up it was horrendous. The host’s clothes were falling off and she acted as if we woke her up. Then she sat us, we asked for a different table and she was upset that we asked for a table that needed to be set. No server come to us and after 15 mins I asked someone for help. The manager took our order, salad came out quick and was great, but the rest of our food (apps) didn’t come out after 30 mins. After asking someone about our food, it came out immediately. But quickly we realized it had been sitting in the kitchen, because it was cold. Then my wife looked down on the floor and noticed a mouse trap with dropping all over the floor. Sorry it’s going to be hard to ever go back.

    Detroit style pizza is just delicious and Emmy's Squared was tasty. The pies are not as large as SideDoor, but still filling. My tequila cocktail was a bit bland, and the trout dip had way too much cream, and not enough tangy trout flavor. But, you come to Emmy's Squared for the pizza. Would still recommend the airy Navy Yard location.

    When I walked in I spoke to the hostess who was very nice, but our conversation got completely cut off by another worker who had a question for the hostess. I was alarmed by how rudely the other worker butted in and interrupted our conversation within second of me arriving to Emmy Squared. We had two servers, one who sat us and got us started with apps and drink, and another who took over for the rest of our dining experience. The service from the second server was terrible. He was very very nice, but only came to us once to drop off the food. I had to get up from the table TWICE to ask the bartender if we could order drinks. Our server also left a drink sitting at the bar that I had to get up and get for my friend. Overall the food was good, but the service was unfortunately so bad that I don’t see myself coming back.

    I have been to Emmy at least 6 times and the service has always been horrible. Last night we waited 30 minutes before anyone came over to the table. We had to ask for water. The server forgot our drinks twice and one person did not receive their food until 30 minutes after everyone else. Their response? We gave it to someone else. No apology or anything. Like I said, the food is good. The staff are horrible.
