Great dining experience. Friendly and professional staff and OUTSTANDING FOOD!
The escargot were good, but the sauce was disappointing, it was missing something, maybe more garlic. The steak au poiure was tender and cooked as requested, but the sauce was not very good unfortunately. We loved the scallops, and the grilled mexican prawns. The beet salad was delicious and we finished off the meal with a tasty souffle. We will go back.
This wonderful place remains on our top 10 list and brings back memories of dinners in France!! May they live long and prosper (surely the crowd Saturday night is a great sign!)
Met friends here for dinner at their suggestion. The restaurant is a favorite of theirs, and we can see why. It is a cozy neighborhood restaurant/bistro on Adams Avenue, serving French food. The beet salad with goat cheese and walnuts was delicious and artfully presented; the goat cheese was in a nest of fine noodles, on top of the beets/frisee, with pesto dots and the crumbled walnuts on the side. The mushroom raviolis were SO special, matched anything I had in Paris. The guys had Coquille St. Jacques, and the scallops were perfectly cooked. We will definitely be returning!
I recommend it to many friends the same evening, wonderful location, romantic setting and excellent french cuisine.
Came for my birthday. Everything was spectacular! The bartender, Missy, was so friendly and helpful. Plus, she makes a mean martini. And don’t get me started about the food! The charcuterie board was delightful (that pate!), the coq au vin had the most decadent sauce and the chicken just melts off the bone, and the dark chocolate mousse made me weep. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to go and well worth it. I will be returning!!
Love this place!! Expensive but it was worth it!!!!
Great food exquisitely presented. Good wine list with great wine-by-the glass availability. Wonderful vibe!
Thank you John!
Lovely, as always. The food is wonderful, the service is excellent and always welcoming. It's great to be able to stay and chat without feeling rushed to leave.
Thank You Yolanda! We greatly appreciate your review.
Food, Service and presentation were all excellent. Good choices for cocktails or wine by the glass. Wine bottle prices seemed high. Otherwise great overall experience.
Everything was great. Craft cocktails, Great service,
Great food. Background music was not too loud.
My new favorite.
This is my third time here and everything has been absolutely wonderful and delicious. The bread you get at the beginning goes perfect with the escargot sauce. I reccomend saving some and using it as mop bread after you've finished the course. Open Table made it easy to book a table on the same day for a busy night. I will be coming back in the future, once again!
Thank you so much ! We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Loved the ambiance and the servers, definitely makes you feel welcome. Food was beyond delicious. We are coming back soon
Thank you Alejandra!
We made our reservations online about an hour and a half before, showed up and were seated right away. The service, food, everything was great. We are definitely coming back.
Thank you Carlos!
I spent my first day off in weeks having lunch by myself and reading a book here. The food was absolutely amazing and the owner is very sweet. The staff were very attentive and gave great recommendations. Overall the best part was the ambiance. The music selection is great and at the perfect volume. Every table had a family but the noise level stayed low. It made my entire experience perfect and I can’t wait to go back.
Thank you Miranda! We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.
In San Diego for Mother's Day. We headed out to this AMAZING French Restaurant! From the best bread ever made to the Cauliflower Veloute then mussels and quail... The best meal I've had in the last year. Now to the service; from the welcome, to our server (ask for Emily), everything was friendly, yet unobtrusive!! This is definitely a place I will recommend to all my San Diego friends! THANK YOU.
Thank you Karyn!
Love this place! Amazing French cuisine and friendly staff. Mushroom ravioli is to die for!
Great food and service. Our table ordered the prawns, quail and duck and all dishes were fabulous. We had the wrong date on our reservation but they kindly accommodated us.
The meal was delicious and the service was excellent. It was Paris without jet lag.
Love the place
Thank you !
Food here had way too much sodium
Thank you for your review. We are sorry you feel like our food had too much sodium. As we always say we wish you had said something to us while you were here so we could have remade your dish to your liking. Our goal is to make us have a great time and make sure you leave Et Voilà! French bistro totally satisfied.
Excekkebt service, and wonderful dinner. We shall be returning. J
First time there and it was not only delicious but lovely restaurant..we will definitely be back!
This was the most romantic restaurant we have ever dined at and they added special touches to make our anniversary amazing.
Thank you so much! We are looking forward to see you again soon.
The food was outstanding. We had the duck and the halibut and both were delicious. The onion soup was fantastic and the lemon soufflé sublime. My only criticism is the wine list. It is filled with overpriced mediocre wines. One could easily put together a better list shopping online at K&L wines. With so much outstanding wine available in the world it is disappointing to see a great restaurant like this offer wines whose quality doesn’t match the wonderful food.
We came here a couple of years ago for Easter Brunch, so my review is partially based on that experience vs. this year's experience. Before, I had the quiche, which was the best quiche I'd ever had! Unfortunately, they don't have the quiche anymore. So, we ordered eggs Benedict, which was not quite as lemony as I would have liked, though the roasted potatoes were outstanding. Before, we got a little chocolate Easter bunny as a parting gift, which we did not get this time. So, another tiny disappointment.
Overall, a good restaurant though and well worth checking out.
Thank you Janet for you review, we are happy you decided to come back this year for our Easter brunch. We apologize we didn't point out the large Easter basket with all kind of chocolates we had on the bar for our guests. Looking forward to see you soon.
I think they could improve service a lot
We had a gift certificate for Et Voila. So glad we finally used it! Everything was good; the food , service, wine suggestion, atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to others!
Evey time we dine there it’s absolutely amazing! Food is always delicious no matter what we try. The service is wonderful. We love to go there when we are in San Diego
Always good to go back to Et Voilà.
This is just an excellent place to meet a friend for brunch. Everything is wonderful.
Simply great. Parking was a bear but they have a valet service. This is our new favorite
Authentic French eatery. Excellent service, great "small neighborhood place. Food is top shelf.
We took friends there for a birthday celebration. As always everything was great. We had the ribeye, duck, fish and onion soup. If they offer a SOUFFLÉ DU JOUR for dessert, get it, it is the best I have ever had. We got three desserts the MOUSSE AU CHOCOLAT NOIR and the PROFITEROLES which we shared. Our friends are already planning on introducing their friends to this great restaurant
Having lived in SD for 14 years, this is the best dining I've had. Next best meal to being in France.
whiskey used to come with awesome block of ice. ordered usual whiskey and it was on crushed ice. have never been served whiskey on crushed ice. then told i needed to specifically ask for the round solid ice. oh well, then food was different from initial order 6 months ago. something is changing and not for the better. waitress was excellent. just felt like something was missing.
As always everything was perfection. This is my go to French restaurant in San Diego. The ravioli is amazing and duck confit was perfect.
Loved this restaurant! Very French, with authentic French dishes and lots of French wines. We had quail and lamb, with a red Burgundy, and it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time! Service was excellent too. And they don't have concrete floors, so it's not loud.
One little disappointment. Had a great bottle of red wine in a Chardonnay glass. That was all they had. Food was great
This would be a great place for happy hour; however, they don’t tell you that happy hour is only at the bar until you’re seated, and by then it could be another 30 minute wait. The bar area seemed to have a good ambiance with a little bit of a louder crowd and better bang for your buck based off the menu prices.
We sat at a regular table towards the back of the restaurant that was much quieter and probably better for families or a romantic date. The table for two was tiny and therefore they said they could only bring us one appetizer at a time. Maybe seat us at a bigger table next time? There were plenty available. The service was a little slow, but I will say the food was delicious. We had the mushroom ravioli, the mussels, and the fromage (all appetizers). The ravioli only came with 3 small ones, and the fromage wasn’t very generous with the actual cheese- we basically feel that both were overpriced. On the other hand, the mussels were a steal! The bucket was actually filled to the top, which was a pleasant surprise, and the broth was to die for.
Would I recommend it? Yes, because the food was phenomenally delicious. However, for the price, you could find an equally satisfying French bistro elsewhere. We ended up paying $120 for 3 apps and a couple of cocktails.
