I love this place. Great for kids if you go early. Outdoor dining on picnic tables and lots of outdoor games to keep the kiddos occupied while you sip your Aperol Spritz. It’s a Godsend. Great vibe and setting. Very friendly staff. New chef and amazing food. The prices could be a little lower. Afterwards it turns into a scene. It’s a place for everyone.
It’s unfortunate to have to leave any negative review during such tough times for restaurants, but with so many businesses making an honest effort to deliver a proper menu at the same prices as before, Ruschmeyer’s blatant price gouging and cheapening of
Super crazy expensive- I couldn’t get over it. Active audience in Montauk I guess
very expensive for the quantity and quality. good for large, young groups who are happy to be overcharged but want a sceney environment
outdoors: no space heaters, poor service, hardly any light to see food . inside very large rec room style. no atmosphere poor attention from staff. food very average.
on a warm night and earlier with light and music might be fun
Average food and very noisy. People were smoking next to us and the stuff didn’t do anything about it.
Had been to Ruschmeyer's many times over the years and was disappointed with the overall experience. The menu was not available online so was unaware of pricing (OK glass of wine $20+, OK burger $30+) and service charge (23.5%)..
Most people sat at picnic tables outside but we chose indoor which had wooden tables and chairs. Music was more "club" than "fine dining." Staff was personable and did a very good job adhering to COVID measures (QR code for menu, temp check to enter).
Really disappointed in this place. Perhaps because we went after Labor Day it was such a poor experience. Service was beyond rushed; boxed up our meals before we were even finished. Very expensive for the quality. Will never return.
Arrived on time, seated immediately outdoors as planned. Sat at picnic table which was a bit uncomfortable. Service was ok, they seemed a bit scattered that evening, no one seemed specificity assigned to a section or table. Food was underwhelming and a bit pricey for what you get.
Food was insanely overpriced & underwhelming. Nice atmosphere.
Our dining experience at Ruschmeyer’s was disappointing. We were a party of nine. The food and cocktails were very expensive and for the most part subpar in quality. This is not a restaurant for families with young children. Found drug paraphernalia under our table and reported it to the waiter. Overall, Loud, Expensive and poor quality food and drink.
Steak was great. I eat at a lot of steakhouses and I really enjoyed this one. It was much different than a steakhouse steak but better in a way because it wasn't soaked in butter. Wait staff was great ambiance social distancing etc. great time and experience. Salad and tuna apps were great too.
Experience was terrible. The pasta was clearly from a box, the wine was super cheap but way over priced, and the chicken parm was $42 and it was very bad and didn’t even come with pasta. On top of that there were mosquitos everywhere so we basically just stuffed our faces and left as fast as possible. The waiter was nice enough and responsive, but other than that the whole experience couldn’t have been more disappointing.
Very nice outdoor atmosphere
The only reason to visit this restaurant is for the vibe and atmosphere. Very nice set up and good social distancing guidelines, but that is pretty much where the positives end. Calamari was bland, "homemade" pasta was inedible, and the cheese on the pizza congealed after the first bite. Drinks were fine but everything was overall overpriced for the quality.
We waited forever for our drinks and then food. They also tried to not let our 25 year old friend in because he didn't have his ID on him. Didn't realize we couldn't eat dinner unless we were 21. It was ridiculous.
One and done! Very over rated & over priced. We were seated in the back room - not the main dinning room. Was not happy. Room was very very dark, it was like eating in the storage room. Steak special was OK and service was good. Everything else was Eh! Not worth the $ or time! Regret using a night out on a weekend get away in Montauk for this place!
Made our date night. Massive shout out to our server Alex for getting us food right in the Knick of time! We will be back!
As per other reviews, the restaurant struggles with food quality and service and is therefore overpriced.
My girl friends and I visited Montauk for a few nights
Had such a great experience between the service and quality of food! Fun music and great ambiance. Will definitely return again. Our server was amazing although I forgot his name
best vibes ever!! and even better food! weekdays are more family friendly for sure.
Great outdoor atmosphere, perfect for social distancing.
Loved the ambiance the setup the food and our servers!!!
drunk people dancing on tables falling all over the place vaping throughout meal and screaming curse words. i had my kids and it was a birthday dinner . bouncer did his best but they should have gotten the boot. i ordered tuna app and it was served with stale lays (like) potato chips . i’ve had plenty of great experiences here but this wasn’t one of them. my server was extremely nice and did her best.
Incredibly disappointed to see the recent changes in Ruschmeyers. This used to be one of my favorite places for dinner and drinks due to the amazing menu and incredible atmosphere. There is clearly new management due to the revised menu with all the crowd favorites removed. The waitress didn't even know what the iconic Ruschmeyers drink was...no longer on the menu. I had a bland rigatoni with a meat sauce that definitely came out of a can. My boyfriend had the baked ziti - which was not baked, had no meat (like the menu stated) and was a bowl of bland penne. Overall so incredibly disappointed. Will not be returning.
Great time!
Too expensive!!!!
We were very excited to go to Ruschmeyer’s again as we loved this restaurant last summer. The menu has changed since then, which was disappointing as we had our heart set on the dishes from the last time. The ambience was nice at first but turned out to be very buggy. It’s hard to enjoy your meal when you’re dodging bugs. The service was fantastic. Our waitress was very friendly and sympathetic. The wine was very overpriced compared to the same bottles elsewhere in Montauk.
Insufficient outdoor lighting. Food was good but ridiculously over-priced. $18 for a mediocre glass of wine. They included a 24% Pre-tax service charge in bill without mentioning it and still add space for tip. Service was fine, food was slow to come out. We would not return.
Prices are ridiculous
We had such a great time! Service, aesthetic, music, and food were all incredible.
Over priced ... limited menu.... one and done for me. Food was average at best. Feels like fun venue for drinks and socializing, but not a destination for good food.
Love it so cute!!!!
The service was poor and food was totally overpriced for the portions and quality. Our server was not friendly and mixed up part of our order. When my husband politely mentioned it to the waiter he said “no I didn’t I wrote it down”. To top it all off they automatically include a 23.5% tip! You’re better off finding another restaurant in Montauk.
It was a nice spot for outdoor dining, but was expensive for what it was.
Beautiful atmosphere and the service was impeccable. Food was good, just way over priced for what you receive.
great service, our waiter was George. He was super friendly. Had a delicious brunch. steak and eggs were delicious, pancakes were delicious. A little empty during our visit, but the bottomless champagne and food were great.
Great - loved it!
Bora and Milos were the BEST waiters.
I don’t usually leave reviews but this dinner required it—we were prepared for a higher bill for a nice dinner out but this missed the mark. Service was terrible..my husband ordered a drink w blue cheese olives, the waitress told us we were mistaken, we pointed out that it was on the menu then she ultimately came back and said they were out of those for today. Entire dinner was 35 minutes...w apps!! And then the waitress was missing when we were ready to pay. Food was basic..not nearly worth the prices and the atmosphere is not worth the big increase in price. Montauk is expensive but find somewhere else to eat...not worth it. PS- 18% gratuity is included!
