Farmers Fishers Bakers
toppings: Bananas Foster, Strawberry Sauce, or Maple Syrup
After waiting way too long to be seated in a half empty patio, I guess they tried to compensate with 3 staff members asking if we needed anything so often that we could barely eat let alone have a conversation. Especially when you have to reach for your mask every time it happens. I also was not thrilled with the Jambalaya or the carrot cupcake and my mixed drinks were light on the alcohol, though the crab Louie salad was good as were our sushi appetizers. And then they forgot to credit the OpenTable rewards card I had even though I tried to give it to them (they remembered the 4% PPE upcharge though). And this was after another Farmers restaurant messed up a carryout order I had to go through Amex to correct. Dining out in a pandemic is a rare treat so it was disappointing to not be able to exhale and relax over the meal.
Maybe the strain of operating in a pandemic is getting hard on restaurants (I ate with a small group at a different OpenTable restaurant last week and 2 got sick from the same dish). So unfortunately it might be time to take a break from eating out even at our most visited restaurant group (sad face emoji here).
We enjoyed the poke salad, calamari and crab and artichoke dip. The host who served us was fantastic. This was our third time there for lunch!
It was a good place to eat. We had outdoor seating, so it was a bit noisy due to helicopters and dog barking. The place was a bit crowded, so we had to wait a bit long. There was no hand sanitizer on the table. We ordered crab and artichoke dip, seafood jambalaya, and chioppino. All foods tasted great, but my black tea tasted TOOOOOOOO STRONG..... ugh.
Very nice place. I love it. Got a dinner with my family and we were happy with service and food.
Great service and delicious food in a delightful outdoor setting!
The food was absolutely amazing! We got scampi, calamari pizza, and crab dip. All to die for!!!!!
Thank you, Erykah for sharing your review with our team! It is much appreciated and we hope to have you back for another delicious meal soon. :) -Amy
I did not expect a brunch buffet. Overall, the service was attentive yet the food quality was not up to par.
Thank you, Michael for sharing your review with us. It took nearly 20 minutes to get hot coffees during our brunch and we had to ask for silverware and bread plates for our table after food had arrived. Additionally, when we got up to the brunch buffet, they were out of eggs, barely had any carved meats, and it was clear they did not prepare enough food. Disappointing as this is known as one of the better restaurants in the area.
My husband and I had a wonderful time. The cosmopolitan drinks we ordered was very good, we had a second right away. The appetizer option were great. We ordered the mussles with white wine and artichoke with crab dip. Also, the mini burgers was delish. The crab cakes entree was scramptious. The only reason I didn't give a five star is because all the bread was only white no wheat or even sourdough. I was surprised since it's Farmer fishers and Baked. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this restaurant. More particularly for a date night.
I was terribly disappointed with my dining experience, the food was descent but overall very overrated, However our Waitress Sarah was great.
great vibe and great food! I would recommend going when in the area!
We were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation time, and the gentleman who showed us to our table graciously allowed us to choose another table with a view. Our server was welcoming and efficient, the food was brought in a timely manner, and overall, we were very pleased.
The food was horrible no flavor and not enough portion sizes.
Oh no! I am very sorry to read this, and appreciate the chance to follow up- we would love to know what was ordered & look to correct this. That said, I will send you a DM with my email address to hopefully connect. -Amy
A friend’s birthday. Everything was pretty good. Food was served incredibly fast and was tasty. Our server was very polite and engaging. She knew her stuff as well.
It was a good brunch. It felt understaffed. But I would go back to try it again.
This restaurant had a brunch menu that includes many favorites at a steal of a value
Amazing as always! Happy hour is a great deal, food is always delicious.
Such delicious food and drinks.
Our server Chris was on the ball! We had 3 tables and he was fantastic! He did have help and that gentleman was great too. I just didn’t get his name. Lovely view in the patio.
Mimosas were on point. Our food was delicious. Breakfast tacos were scrumptious. Our only suggestion is that the chicken and waffles should come with one more piece of chicken, to make it a better value for a hungry man-guest. And the Benny songs with a runny egg. Not overdone.
Glad we chose Farmers Fishers Bakers for our family breakfast.
The Brussels sprout salad was excellent. The dressing was 5 star
DC has many choices that have great food and service. Farmers just doesn’t compete. The services is good, but the food just doesn’t make the cut. I’d look elsewhere unless your a tourist who wants to sit by the water.
Bummer! We are so so sorry the food failed to impress, and nothing ordered was up to par. :( We appreciate you letting us know, and our Culinary Team will take this into account for any improvements we can make to better the overall quality of dishes we serve. We really hope to have you back for another try and please call us at 202-298-8783 for any reservation help needed. -Amy
Fantastic service and even better food. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a seafood type of menu along with some basics like burgers and steaks. The appetizers also were amazing and they had a large variety of them.
I have been looking forward to a meal here for months. I knew exactly what I was ordering before arriving. I specifically ordered fries - double fried - they came out single - I had to request a re-do- server said it was because they are hand cut. I said no... new batch came out clearly done right- frustrating that the server didn’t believe me the first time, and didn’t catch it. The spicy tuna roll was covered in spicy powder that ruined the roll. It was like the container spilled on the roll. The Chesapeake roll- we asked. We were told it is a California roll with leeks. It had a mayonnaise base (not aioli) and lettuce inside- and it was not a California roll at all. Sadly, it tasted like tuna salad. It was horrible. Then the Brussels salad. I have gotten this before. It is my favorite. This was all Romaine, some apples, and outside leaves of Brussels- nothing substantial- and very little blue cheese dressing. It was very disappointing. Given my server’s attitude from the fries- I let it all go. I didn’t want to be that person. She only stopped by once to refill my daughters $4.50 Arnold Palmer- while out mouth was on fire due to the tuna roll situation and there was no one else to be found to assist. Finally we ordered a chocolate strawberries for dessert- one was not ripe. At $2.50 /each I expect at least ripe strawberries. It’s just a lack of detail and overall care in ingredient quality.
Sadly I will never return to FFB. I loved the brand and this restaurant, but there seems to be a decline in food quality, service, and attention to detail. (Brunch foods cold and hard, mistakes in ordering, etc). I am bummed. I was so excited to come back here.
Food and beverage very slow
We made a reservation for the brunch but we got there and found out the brunch had ended. The menu doesn't describe the food very well so when the entrees came they were unacceptable. One entrée came with the wrong side. My fries were cold. The beef sandwich was supposed to be prime rib but looked like shredded beef of some kind. The sliders had stuff mixed into the burger and so it couldn't be eaten that either.
Hi Disappointed: Thank you for sharing this with us, and I am so sorry this experience missed the mark! :( I feel badly for the miscommunication surrounding our brunch times and the unacceptable entrees served. That said, I would love the chance to follow up and do my best to turn this around. I will send you a DM with my email address. -Amy
High energy place. Wait staff was less attentive than they should have been.
We had a wonderful dinner. Food was outstanding - especially the pimento cheddar biscuits and salmon. Server could have checked on our drink refills better. Only complaint is that the women's restroom chair rail around room needed cleaned - covered in dust.
Excellent service and social distancing. The clementine cocktail was amazing, not too sweet and perfectly alcoholic! Ask for Carlos as your server- he was attentive but not overbearing, and brought us everything we needed. We made an outdoor reservation and everything went smoothly. We had the shrimp fry and lemon herb brick chicken. Both were delicious, except for the coleslaw in the shrimp fry that was boring and tasteless. But that was the only downside!
