FARO - Oak Bay Beach Hotel

Great at off peak times.
Wine list was surprisingly good but could be expanded for depth. Would like to see some back vintages ideally.

Wonderful experience from start to finish! My new favourite place to dine!

Good food, small wine list with quality selections. We had great service from Michael(?) our most recent visit. He was very knowledgable and paid attention to the details. I love the new addition in the lounge area.

A fabulous meal in a lovely restaurant. The sparkling wine was 'fresh' out of a new bottle and the pizza excellent. Our server was excellent too.

An amazing evening - Nolan served us and was engaging, funny, and attentive, all while not being intrusive. The food was amazing. A very special occasion. We would highly recommend FARO and will be back for seconds!

Excellent appetizers and very tasty pizza. Sitting in the enclosed patio was also lovely. Prices are a little on the high side, but likely in keeping with the location. Great experience overall

Faro is the best thing that happened to the Victoria restaurant scene this year. The food is absolutely outstanding, the large, open space makes you feel safe during this pandemic, and the service is second to none. All this at a regular pub tab! And if you can manage a table outside, bonus. The patio at the Beach Hotel is so nicely laid out, every time I walk by I want to stop for coffee.

As a local, I appreciate the Food, the Ambience, the Ease of Parking, and the Service.
It is a great place for a light, delicious meal with a friend or Max 2 Others (Covid Time) in a safe , tranquil, well-ventilated space.

We had heard great things about Faro. Unfortunately our meal left us less than impressed. One of the pizzas was tasteless. Both were soggy crust on the bottom. Serving staff were pleasant. Restaurant was clean.

We tried 5 dishes, my girlfriend and I sharing each!
They were all amazing, delicious and nicely presented!
The room was delightful and our waiter most enjoyable, which can make all the difference!

I love the room with the kitchen and bar - it feels warm and cosy and vibrant. I don't know why they seat people in the "hallway" But the ambience of the kitchen dining room is terrific
The service was friendly and efficient.
Salad was good not memorable but good.
The pizza was good - although there was artichoke on it that wasn't listed on the menu which I didn't like.

WOW. We really enjoyed our dining experience in Faro Lane. Amazing food, beautiful venue. It was just dinner for 2 to celebrate a birthday but it was wonderful.

Atmosphere was Astonishing, Pizza was Perfect, Dessert was Delicious & The Apple Cider Margarita was A-M-A-Zing. They even have a cucumber slice in the water to make you feel extra special!

Our server was excellent and friendly, could not have asked for better staff.

We had a lovely evening with a casual upscale dinner and drinks. Our server Nolan was attentive and pleasant. Thank you for making our week!!

Lovely, twinkly ambience in The Lane of the OBB Hotel, with a garden terrace feel. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. We had the funghi and roasted tomato pizzas. Both were quite good, not excellent. The ricotta was a touch dry and the crust, while chewy, lacked that resistance that defines a truly excellent woodfired pizza crust. Decent wine list; quality (Sazerac) cocktail; beer list rather ho-hum. A solid B+ overall; we would return when in the neighbourhood or staying at the hotel.

The waiter, Michael, was spectacular.

Pizza was delicious and service was excellent. Sat in Faro Lane and it was so beautiful and made you feel like the outside was inside. Can’t wait to go back!

Loved the food there and our server was amazing too. My only complaint is that the portion size was a bit small for the appetizers.0

"Up Town" pizza. Not the usual. Really good. Pricey.

One of my only times in a restaurant during the pandemic and my first time to Faro. Delicious food, great service and ambience and I felt really comfortable being there. Thank you, Faro!

It was our first visit and we will definitely be back! Ambrosia was our server and she was awesome! She is one of the reasons we will bring others to dine with us. Also, the carpaccio was one of the best I've had, and I love carpaccio :)

Have been here several times. Found the food quality has been compromised ; at those prices I expect a higher quality after several visits.
Service was the worst it has ever been. The waiter constantly interrupted our conversation , I think he needed to go back to waiter school. It was very annoying to be interrupted to that level. Having worked in this industry I expect a more mature server to be aware of protocols.

Yes, I would recommend it - if you are looking for a low-key place to dine on pizza and salad. I think the pizzas are exceptional. Friendly place. A little on the expensive side for wine - would be nice to have a lower-priced house wine available. How about a happy hour?

Delicious pizza, fabulous cocktails and the great service Oak Bay Beach Hotel is known for.

Relaxed lunch. Service was very nice, though the server disappeared for a relatively long time after we got our meal. We were in the "annex" and there was no staff in sight for quite a while.
