Fionn MacCool's - Barrie

Our experience was fine, however we made the reservation 5 days in advance to ensure we had a table, received the confirmation text the day before, and showed up only to be told that there were no reservations being taken and that there was no table for us. We had to wait an extra 30-40 minutes to sit (which was not the location's fault, the system never should have allowed me to make a reservation that wasn't going to be valid). The staff was very apologetic and accommodating, gave us the first available table and even gave us a $50 gift card for the trouble. I was disappointed in OpenTable, not at all with Fionn's. We have been to this location many times since it opened and it is one of our favourites. Highly recommend the restaurant, but call ahead for the wait times to make sure they're not at capacity before you arrive. Definitely worth the wait if you have to, though. The food is great, and any time we have had any sort of issue they address is and make things right as quickly as possible (appetizer was cold once, they gave us a brand new one and took it off the bill as well with many apologies) The restaurant is always clean, especially the restrooms, even when we have been there at peak times.

Very average! Skip the dessert. The French onion soup and Jamison honey garlic bites we’re good. Just for your information, the Jamison honey garlic bites are made with dark meat. The mini Yorkies were dry they could’ve used more gravy. For the mini quesadillas, they add chicken without asking us if we wanted it. It was an extra charge. The service was fine.

The food was not good at all. I was very disappointed. I don't go out often and it didn't even taste good that I wanted to eat it. For a pregnant lady who likes to eat it was pretty bad. The Guiness Steak and Mushroom Bowl... Never knew it could taste like that. We were celebrating my pregnancy and I came home and cooked for us after spending $70 and tipping the waitress. Not only that but I provided this feedback already and got no reply.

We had dinner on the patio on Friday night. The wait staff were incredibly friendly and energetic. The food was delicious. Only 2 complaints; more umbrellas needed and the traffic noise was a bit much, although that is no fault of Fionn MacCool’s

We have been waiting for the chance to get back to Fionn's since the lockdown. Have always loved this location, even when there have been issues with our food it was always addressed in an immediate and completely satisfactory way. I can't say enough about this place. The staff are amazing, the food is delish (the Blarney Burger is legit the best burger I think I have ever had), and the patio (which we enjoyed for the first time this visit) is lovely.

Reasonable food quality and portion for the price. Ambiance was strip mall pub lite. Service was excellent.

I have always enjoyed Fionn MacCool's, usually for a drink and a snack after work. This time we made a lunch reservation. When we arrived the server told me there was no reservation, but there were lots of tables. I don't know if the app didn't work or she was misinformed. And she took quite some time to get us all our drinks. She then (initially) brought us the wrong food. She was still friendly and the food was good, but with it not very busy I expected much better service.

It’s not like the the other Fionn MacCools were you find them in a stand-alone building this one is just stuck in a crappy building in a plaza. Food was good and came quickly and was tasty. The only downfall was really the front house staff was nowhere to be seen so we waited a while for a seat for no reason as the place was empty and the server to sat us was less then friendly.

Food was good and our server was really good. We will be back.

The servers were trying their best, but it was extremely slow, and we had a hard stop to get to a concert that evening.
I was sick all night and had to take the following morning off work.

I was under the impression that
Fionn MacCools was an Irish pub, they had no Irish pub music playing, just modern music playing. Very disappointed. My husbands meal was delicious but they messed up my order and not worth the time to have them fix it but the waitress was awesome she took it back and the cook did a poor job covering up his mistake. When you get Irish music in there I might consider coming back.

Went on St Patrick’s eve. Their Irish fest menu was delicious - 3cheese ale appetizer and lamb burger.

Service was excellent. Appetizer was good. Fish was good. I requested a Chef Salad instead of French Fries with my Fish. I was disappointed in the Chef Salad as it was just a bowl of lettuce with dressing. There was nothing else for example tomato, onion, cucumber, etc.
Rest of meal was great and my friends meal was good.

I have been to Fionns before and loved it but Disappointing this visit this location:

1st long wait
2nd waited till I ordered steak to tell me they were all out of which I would have appreciated knowing as soon as I was seated
3rd it was our first anniversary dinner and they didn’t even acknowledge

Great location, great atmosphere and the best nachos I've had at any restaurant ever! Will certainly be back!

First time there. Good food. Prices decent. Moderate noise level. Service was great til we got our food than didn't see much of our server. Had to ask another server for assistance. Overall liked the place. Would go back.

Table was ready with my reservation which was nice - it was quite busy but the server was very slow and inattentive- has to send back my soup and never got a replacement choice as she had offered - wings were very dry over cooked - cauliflower wings though were delicious and my son loved his poutine. Was late seeing a movie so didn’t take time to speak to a manager as it was very busy and didn’t feel it would be worth it

Live music was great

We enjoy the consistently good quality and great service we get at this restaurant. We have our favourite meals and really enjoy their menu.

Pop was flat and tasted terrible. Crowd pleaser app was very good. The rest of the food was just ok. Zach was our server and he was amazing !
