Fishing With Dynamite
So good! Amazing and passionate staff - over the top culinary creations. Don’t miss it ! And a super friendly chef.. destined for continued success. Try the craft cocktails!
Food is amazing - it’s small and claustrophobic, but worth it :).
Was absolutely incredible.
One of the best meals I have ever had.
Great raw platter and steams king crab!
Quality of service and food was excellent
Great small spot in Manhattan Beach. Everything on the menu was great. From the fries and mayo to the ceviche to the rice. Great bartender and cocktails too. Will definitely be back!
Good place ! Great location. When we were there, it was very busy. So service was slow. But, the bartender /waiter was awesome. He explained which oysters there were and the sauces. Just an excellent place. Oh, and the hostess was great too.
You will not find this menu at many restaurants. Really caters to the shellfish / seafood lover. The variety is great without sacrificing quality. Oyster fans will find it hard to say there is a better place than this. The raw scallops are great as well. people talk about having the best clam chowder but I've never seen it prepared this fresh and tasteful. Great food and great value all around.
Love seafood! Fishing with dynamite serves up the best! Oysters , amazing, scallops, sensational. Excellent wine and I’m in heaven. Have mother but good words about this restaurant. Highly recommend!
THE place to eat in Manhattan Beach. Get whatever the server recommends
What a meal! Kenneth the bartender took great care of us and his oyster recommendations were spot on. #BrineBomb
The hamachi is always a must and we loved the Spot Prawns, which are a seasonal treat.
The service is always outstanding! The food is simply delicious. One of Our favorite restaurant in MB!
Great spot. Will be back
Fresh seafood with nice flavors and very interesting souces
The food here is really quite exceptional. Great rahbar offerings and a lot of other inventive seafood and different types of entrées. Great service, limited but quality wine list. My biggest problem is the playlist, for somewhere so nice and so hard to get into, you would think the music would match the quality Of the place. Stone Temple pilots,
Frequent visitors to this restaurant, and our last experience was completely out of character. Shrimp was rubbery, scallops were not as fresh as usual, and the drinks (Tom
Joads) were completely watered down (literally with water). Hoping it was a one-time bad experience.
This was our first time (reservations are difficult to get there--and now I know why!). The food was absolutely fantastic. Even the nutty "I've gotta be gluten free" folks were dipping that amazing bread into the sauce from the fish dish and sopping up every drop. Fresh fish platter was fantastic! And our server was excellent. We will DEFINITELY be back!
This was our second visit after a truly magical first visit 1 1/2 years ago. While the food was just as great — I dream about those Peruvian scallops — a few things could have been better. The music was pretty loud, which given the size of the restaurant, seemed off. And the tables could have been a bit more spaced, so that we didn’t have to hear every word of our 2 neighbors conversations.
Amazing food. Love it! Had to wait a long time even with a reservation but they were very gracious and offered us a few appetizers while we waited.
If you like oysters, go to FWD. Worth the wait! Stop by, put your name in, and walk around lovely Manhattan Beach until they have a seat. You must! AMAZING.
Consistently a great dining experience!
The most amazing food!!!
As usual, counter sat in front of the poor dudes shucking all the oysters. Justin, the barkeep, took care of us mighty fine as we splurged on the Queen Mary shellfish platter, gem salad, squash rolls, fish&chips, bigeye tuna tartar, and a Thai-curry sweet potatoes dish. All washed down with Tito’s Vodka. At $95, the Queen Mary is still a great deal and perfect for two. Everything including the Key Lime pie and Banana Pudding were fantastic and I claim this cramped, noisy joint “Das Best Beach Scene Seafood Boot!”
We really liked this place and enjoyed everything about our early reservation. We seated on time and enjoyed a great sunset view. Our service was spectacular and really added a lot to our experience. The food didn’t disappoint either. We had oysters (a must); a crab cake (my hubs said it was the best he ever had); the sweet potato dish (that was dynamic and the highlight of the meal for me): grilled prawns (which were cut in half and served in the shell); the mixed greens (this dish was a perfect pallet cleanser); and the finale was thE key lime pie (wowowowow)! I would highly recommend this for a great date night on the town!
Consistently good food, service, and a great vibe. I never hesitate to return to FWD!
Love this spot! Girlfriend and I came here last weekend and decided no better place than here to come for Valentines. Will be back very soon
Heading out to vacation and celebrating with friends. Love this place! Best food and service ever.
Wonderful selection of fresh seafood. Great menu. Hamachi was great. Loved the Key Lime Pie
The oysters that we ordered were not well chilled
Everything was amazing as usual!
Amazing customer service. I don’t write reviews often, but this establishment more than deserves it. They took care of all of my dietary restrictions but made they didn’t draw unnecessary attention to me in front of the party I was with. The food was spectacular - the food setting was impeccable and the food quality was excellent. All made to perfection and tasted all fresh.
Superb, superb. Clearly one of the more surprising dining experiences I’ve had in LA in some time. This is a very small seafood house, resembling many favorites from Back East, but full-on Manhattan Beach. Fresh uni lobes from Santa Barbara served on ice, extraordinary scallops on the half shell, Hama Hama oysters with 3 different accents (though none were needed). Fun, beachy place, great staff. Yum yum.
Great place with excellent service. Space was a little tight but food made up for it.
The food at this place is for sure amazing. Everything was really well cooked and tasted delicious. What you should be aware of is that its more a tapas style of eating so you would order several dishes and share them. I found it extremely overpriced since one tapas was between 25-50 dollar. At least if you want to eat seafood. Its a great place with great food but the prices are really too high.
Continues to be one of the restaurants in Manhattan Beach! Seafood is fresh as ever!
Surprisingly comfortable easy space with delicious food and real people. Delightful experience😊
Pretty loud, slow service, cute decor - bit pricey for experience but not bad!
Our server was absolutely awesome!
The food was amazing, everything we ordered was interesting and delicious! The service was just as great, they really took care of us without being overwhelming.
The atmosphere is of a small neighborhood eatery, not pretentious, just great good, great service and a quant atmosphere.
