Five and Ten

Our favorite special place to eat every time we visit the area. Food, service and atmosphere are the best in Athens.

We can here for our anniversary and we couldn't have made a BETTER CHOICE!!

Food: exquisite. The flavor profiles were so well thought through. Every dish had gorgeous presentation too. Major compliments to Chef Hugh and team.

Atmosphere: We ate outside and it was great. They brought a heater to the side of our table to make sure we were comfortable too. Social distancing is respected and they provide masks should you have forgotten yours. Lovely romantic spot.

Service: 12/10. We shared that we happened to be there for our anniversary and they comped 2 glasses of champagne for us.

Enjoyed a delicious meal with friends on the spacious porch with warm heaters keeping us cozy in the 55 degree weather. We will definitely return.

Table was between the bar and a door to the outside dining area. Constant traffic with door opening a lot on a cold night.

Sublime and sensational all at once . We discovered a wine on their superb wine list that is divine... a very well curated list ( kudos to S. Grubbs ) It's always a pleasure to dine here with such attention to detail in every regard . Looking forward to next excuse to explore their world .

Everything is fantastic. Drinks are delicious(best bartender!!), service went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The new heaters outside are amazing. We went for Ramen night and as always they knock it out of the park.

This is our second visit to this restaurant. We decided to give it a second chance as we were disappointed the first time we went. Sub standard service and food lacks flavor. The waiter was not polished or knowledgeable of the menu or wine list. Not worth the price. Definitely not fine dining.

This was my second experience at the 5 and 10 and I came with three friends. We had a wonderful experience in every way. The food was outstanding and unique and the staff was exceptional. I was very impressed with the level of knowledge of each staff member concerning the food that was served. Our two favorite dishes were the pheasant and the lamb. It was hard to put into words all the flavors that were in those dishes ,and the cabbage that came with my pork chop was my favorite part of the meal.

Ramen night was a treat. Broth was less than previous visits. But a satisfying meal. Wait staff graciously brought my wife a side of bread.

Everything we ate was creative, beautifully prepared, and above all delicious. We thought that the appetizers would be the stars of the show but then we got our entrees. It was like trying to pick your favorite child. Even something as ordinarily humble as cornbread was amazing. Table service was fantastic. Great experience all the way around.

Always a great meal and a beautiful experience. We dined on the porch and it was extremely comfortable even though it was a rainy night in late Fall. There were heaters to add warmth, and a roll down shade to protect diners from the elements. It is thoughtful touches like this that create a safe, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere so everyone can enjoy Five & Ten’s fabulous food!

My husband and I went for our 7 year wedding anniversary. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is romantic and classic. The food was fantastic, and worth every penny. I can’t wait till our next visit.

My family went to five and 10 before Georgia MSU game. We felt safe and taken care of throughout the entire dinner. Fantastic meal!

Wasn't overwhelmed with menu choices nor with what we ordered. Would try again but would try other restaurants before going back here.

Five and Ten is an Athens treasure! I had my fall go to: the pasta bolognese. Made with fresh papardalle, & expertly cooked bolognese, basil, and Parmesan. This paired wonderfully with a recommended Nebbiolo, and my book :) The Spinach Salad was good, but I think there are better starters. And the sweet potato pie with merengue and ice cream was a wonderfully crafted dessert. I’ll be back when I can!

Taking COVID seriously while providing outstanding service and delicious food. I could sit on that front porch for hours.

Everything is wonderful. The pork chop was well seasoned and cooked just right. The outside seating with stand heaters was perfection and the fires in the pit made it just above great. The wine was a good addition. Nothing but praise for this cozy spot.

I had the kanbuchi and the sweet potatoes! Omg! It melted in my mouth. It was exquisite!

These are difficult times for restaurants. Five and Ten did a commendable job adjusting by having nicely spaced outdoor tables and staff cognizant of the necessary behavior. There was a mussel appetizer with a court bouillion touched up with tarragon that was quite good. And the zucca ravioli appetizer was also excellent. The pork chop with peppers was a nice touch with a sweetness alongside almost paprika-like pepper flavor complimenting the pork well. The king salmon was nicely done. Cocktails were excellent and the wines by the glass went well with the food. A class act all-around

Wonderful dinner. We tried the Japanese fish. A little dry and the cornbread was too. However, overall excellent dinner. The portions and presentations were excellent. Pimento cheese app was excellent. Our waiter did an amazing job. We loved the Pear cocktail.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff was outstanding, and the food amazing. Chef Acheson was there and very personable. Highly recommend.
