Flame and Smith
Great place to celebrate a special occasion. Higher end. Nice relaxing meal.
I felt this place was over-hyped. The food doesn’t live up to its price tag. My boyfriend’s burger and potatoes were both dry and my burger was unseasoned.
Ordered from the chef's menu. All of the selected dishes from the chef where outstanding. From the porterhouse steak to the chicken liver pate, all were well presented, flavourful and satisfying. Service was excellent, never had to ask for water it was always filled up. Always smiling from the table staff and the chef visited our table. He explained what the dish was and gave some background. The taste of the food was enhanced by the wood-fired grill which gives the restaurant a fragrant appeal.
I highly recommend Flame and Smith and will be back in the near future.
Delicious food and awesome service!
Flame and Smith is our go-to in The County. The ambiance is amazing as is the staff....thankfully NOT dressed in ‘morgue black’ like so many places these days. Menu is quite close to from soup to nuts and all of it outstanding : as easy as a cheese burger all the way to Asian-infused delicacies. Their baked smashed potato’s beat fries hands down and oysters are shucked at the bar between anecdotes and cocktails...such an easy pace.
On Route got it right.....best new restaurant - country wide.
Consistently delicious and creative menus. Love the ambiance and the service.
We had an amazing dining experience, we opted for the Flame & Smith family style menu experience and it was absolutely delicious, great portions & flavourful dishes. Highly recommend if you are hungry & want to try various options.
Great staff! Book a reservation through Open Table.
Love, love, love Flame & Smith every time I visit! From the very friendly staff greeting and seating you at the door, to the incredibly knowledgeable wait staff who very courteously help me navigate the menu to accomodate my dairy & egg allergies, to the amazing chefs that prepare each item with such care and dedication, I really can't stop telling people they NEED to visit while in the county. I'm an ex-pat of the county, and nearly always stop in here when I'm back. Thank you again for a wonderful evening and exceptional meal.
The venue is a great location and very charming inside.
Bread basket was great and we enjoyed the wine but the $48 steaks were thin and mine was over cooked.
A little too much gristle. Was slightly disappointed.
We were nervous that being Valentines Day we would be rushed but we never felt hurried. We ordered several appies and all agreed that the liver on crackling was our favourite. Our entrees were varied but delicious as well. If we had one complaint it was the temperature in the restaurant. My chair leaned into the washroom hallway and apparently the outdoor exit so every time that door was opened a burst of cold air came through. I solved it by putting on my coat but everyone’s feet were quite cold. Other than that I think we’ve found our new favourite dining experience and will definitely be back.
We ordered the chef's table (multiple surprise courses) and it was one of THE BEST meals we have ever experienced!! And we kinda think we are foodies ... I know I am critical when I go out for a nice meal ... we were WOWED! Can't wait to go back.
Outstanding in every respect.
Thank you for an incredible evening..
Flame & Smith is always good. While it can be pricy, the quality and creativity for the food is outstanding
My husband and I had a fantastic date night. We chose to do the chef's choice menu and it was worth every penny. There was so much food and it was brought out in a relaxed way. Our meal felt like such a treat and an experience. We felt taken care of and not rushed.
Outstanding food and service. A small problem with my beer was quickly fixed without question. One of the customers was a little childish and disruptive to the rest of the customers, but we were able to ignore him. The staff didn't seem interested in asking him to quiet down.
Between the two of us, we ordered 6 items on the menu. All were prefect (except the soup was lukewarm...but so tasty I did not send it back.) A cod dish replaced the normal Arctic Char; and it may be the most outstanding treatment of cod I have ever encountered. The chef should consider making this cod dish a regular item on the menu.
Loved the restaurant, loved the concept. Food was great. For the most part service was amazing. There is one server who is too charmless to be working in service, I think. But will definitely be coming back and bringing friends and family.
This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. I checked out the website and I made a reso. My partner and I arrived with had high expectation, unfortunately they were not met.
-The draft beer that I ordered had crud/goop floating in it. I sent it back and asked for a can of lager or pilsner - and the server brought me a red ale.
-After we had been seated and had received our drinks we were asked to move tables to accommodate a reso, we obliged (but we were also a reso- unimpressed).
-Bread basket and duck were mediocre.
-mushroom salad was delicious
-parmesan potatoes with ailo were scrumptious
Next time I'm in PEC for a wine tour I'm skipping Flame and Smith and eating dinner at The Drake.
I had the cod over chowder with squid ink cracker crumble. It was delicious! I loved being able to smell the fire during dinner
Very good overall.
Every single detail of our visit was fantastic - from the food, to the service, to the ambience. Will definitely be returning!
Great staff, atmosphere and excellent food. We had the Chef’s menu, which gave us a sampling of several menu options (and was a lot of food). Will definitely return.
Fabulous food - liver pate was excellent! Only suggestion we would have is that some of the wine pairings were a bit too cool. We will certainly return and recommend this restaurant to friends!
One of the best meals my mom and I have had in a while, and we eat very well. The service was excellent, and every single thing we ordered was amazing! We will definitely go back.
First time there and we were fortunate to have Chef and owner Hidde serve us personally! He tailored a tasting/paring menu which was awesome. I would highly recommend Flame & Smith to anyone.
We had the chef’s table and it was delicious from start to finish! Special thanks to the Chef for accommodating allergies while creating an amazing meal for both of us. And thank you Cam for being so welcoming and helping pick exactly the right wine!
Totally met our expectations. Will definitely go again.
Absolutely phenomenal, inventive food, cozy and intimate setting, kind and wonderful service! Highly recommend to anyone visiting the county!
Wonderful as always. Beautifully prepared food. Creative menu. Professional staff. Lovely guitarist.
Vraiment une belle ambiance un bon souper superbe endroit
We went for my 65th birthday, amazing! Loved it! Cannot wait to go again!
Always a great experience at Flame + Smith. We snapped up a last minute reservation for a Countylicious dinner and enjoyed a wonderful meal! As a frequent visitor to Bali, I was thrilled to try their version of Gado-Gado. Well done! If you haven’t been to Flame + Smith, you really must. Their eclectic and cozy modern rustic vibe is so comfortable, and drinks by the wood stove = divine on a chilly PEC winter’s eve. The food is always a delight - prepared to perfection; and the staff are friendly and attentive.
We went to Countylicious on the Corkage evening (bring a County wine and $10 corkage fee goes to charity).
Mushroom salad had a delicious vinaigrette and was quite large. Beef satay was excellent quality meat with a beautiful peanut sauce. The duck cassoulet with andouille and pork belly was a great cold weather dish - all the elements worked so well together.
Service was fantastic: from our server, Angela, to the other staff on the floor, they all worked seamlessly together.
A really wonderful experience!
Good place in the county. Would give a second try for sure, but one of our mains, the fish, was over cooked and one of the desserts was not particularly flavourful. Everything else was amazing.
I have been trying to get to Flame and Smith since it opened. It was worth the wait! The menu was outstanding and the space is gorgeous. We tried the Countylicious menu and it was delicious.
This is a very charming restaurant. The food is beautiful and delicious. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I have visited twice and both times have left very happy and satisfied. Their seafood is very fresh and tasty. I also had meat heavy and vegetarian dishes, all wonderful. There is definitely something for everyone. It is very obvious they take pride in their food, ambiance and service.
Being a chef myself, the food was simply amazing and delicious. i wish i could eat the chicken liver mousse and the tuna for the rest of my life. It was one of our best meal since a while. Thank you and keep doing it right!
The food was incredible, just wish there were some more local wines. But I did love the wine list for having adventurous wines and a beautiful range. The foie on the crackling was divine we got another order.
Our first experience was very memorable. Didn't know what to order so we did the chef's menu instead. There were a lot of food and was very delicious. Will come back when we're in the area again.
An absolutely amazing meal and we felt so welcome all evening!
