Flor y Solera, a lively new Spanish tapas bar in the heart of the Los Angeles Arts District, opens March 2023. The regionally-inspired concept is helmed by Catalan-born Chef Mònica Angelats and Beverage Director Francine Diamond-Ferdinandi, who created Flor y Solera as a celebration of the vast culinary splendors and distinct nuances of Spain’s 17 regions.

The menu features tapas that take diners on a sumptuous journey throughout the country’s bountiful seas, verdant mountain countryside and sun-kissed coasts with vibrant flavors and dishes rarely seen outside of Spain.

Complementing Chef Angelats’ refined, yet approachable cuisine is an exceptional beverage program anchored by the restaurant’s Sherry Bar – a nod to the restaurant’s namesake – where a selection of the Andalusian fortified wine is offered by the glass, flight or with a special tapas pairings.

Service was a bit slow, and the food was good but I was a little underwhelmed. Some dishes were bland, and some were heavily salted. Have high hopes for this place so willing to give it another chance.

It is great to have an excellent Spanish Tapas restaurant in DTLA. The food was very tasty and the service was perfect. Dishes were served at a pace so that we could enjoy them , yet not have to wait for the next course. The restaurant is new and very very nicely decorated. We will be back.

We were here for a special occasion and the staff went above and beyond. We weren't rushed at all, our food came out in waves, and they were very attentive while still giving us plenty of space to socialize. This is a true tapas place, plan to order several dishes. All the food was great, highlights for us were the seabass and the yellowtail. Their wine list was also very fun, a great selection of Spanish reds you won't find most other local options. We will definitely be back.

Birthday dinner. Very courteous and attentive staff. Ordered two tapas and two entrees, coupled with two cocktails. The tapas (patatas bravas and chicken croquettes) came out rather fast and quite divine tasting. As for the entrees, we ordered the rabbit along with the squid ink paella. Heavenly in taste and plating. Flor y Solera holds a special place in my taste buds for its authenticity to Spanish gastronomy. What a treat!

Great personal service from staff, especially from Francine, the Sommelier. Her pairing of wine to complement our food is always of the first order; hats off to Francine! The space itself is well laid out, and well deserves the term "warehouse chic". The noise level allows for conversation, even when the music is on, and the patrons are engaged in lively conversation. As usual, a very buoyant evening had by all.

This is a real Spanish place with real Spanish food and I know this because I'm from Spain and have been living in LA for the last 8 years. Most of the time, if not all when you go to a Spanish restaurant the food doesn't taste like it should; this is not the case, in Flor y Solera everything tastes like back home and in some cases even better. Monica, the chef, is a top-notch professional who makes one of the most delicious menus I tried outside Spain. The waiters are nice, dedicated, and happy ( something very important if you want to spend a wonderful evening ) and all the staff around seems happy and loving what they do, the place is beautiful, and super clean with the music right at the perfect volume. This is by far the best Spanish restaurant in the LA area. If you want to spend a wonderful evening and taste the best food, make your reservation at Flor y Solera. Gracias Monica y a los amigos de Flor y Solera por una noche maravillosa, sois los mejores!!!

Pros: Delicious food and drinks, great service, lovely ambiance. Cons: Half the tapas menu contains anchovies, gross. And like all tapas, the cost adds up, so it ends up being quite expensive.

We stumbled into Flor Y Solera when originally looking for somewhere to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We had no idea what to expect, and we were so pleasantly surprised by this neighborhood gem. The food was excellent, as was the service. We had sangria and wine and ended our meal with churros. I'd highly recommend this place!!

I saw mixed reviews, either high or low, so I was curious as to how the experience would unfold - I am definitely on team high note! We had the garlic shrimp, mussels, Ensalada agridulce, Fideus rossejats amb cloïsses - all great tasting and fresh. Familiar but unique. Server was helpful and sweet, wine was delicious as well. The decor of the restaurant was beautiful, rich colors combined with muted colors. Music was nice. Everything was really lovely.

A neighborhood restaurant that we can walk to. Early dinner with family. Very friendly atmosphere, even when my 2 1/2 year old grandson spilled my glass of wine, creating the need for a quick cleanup. Food progression to the table was announced and orderly. Wine pouring was attentive throughout the dinner. We’ll be back!

4/21/23 My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. Staff surprised us with congratulatory recognition and sweet conversation. We got engaged in Spain, so having tapas on our anniversary is extra special to us. We also brought our own wine, which was aired and set at our table for a reasonable corcage fee. We came in hungry and tried MANY dishes! We enjoyed every bit of our experience. Our waitress, Francesca, was extra thoughtful and helped make it even more beautiful. Thank you!

Tortilla needs lots of improvement. Calamari was good. But even for small bites it was too small. Patatas bravas was yummy. Churros were good,but was expecting more of a Spanish style sugar churro. They missed the mark in capturing an authentic tapas experience. Sad

First time here. What a great experience. For a pretty new restaurant (I believe open about a month), they are performing very well. Service was great! Be sure to start with a cocktail. Spanish gin tonic highly recommended. Food was paced well. Just about every dish was stellar. Don't miss the meatballs, chicken croquettes, or the calamari. Calamari was perhaps the best I've ever had; tender, lightly breaded, not greasy in the least. And, as always, Francine who also runs their sister restaurant Brera next door, is always happy to help with wine choices and anything else you might need. Can't wait to return!

If there is a better restaurant in Downtown LA, I am not aware of it. Memorable dining at every level. First class service and every dish is superb. Our second visit did not disappoint.
