Fogo de Chao - Washington DC
Imported prosciutto, calabrese salami, toscana salami, parma ham leg (prosciutto de parma from parma, italy) and spanish chorizo.
Gigante Bean Salad
Service was not to good. They forgot our food, we had to remind the staff that only half of our food came. Also the pricing is not in line with the overall value. This has the price of a 5 star with the service and the value of a 2 star.
My husband and best friend’s wedding anniversary
Great experience celebrated my retirement from the Army. Genevieve was the absolute best and such a professional.
Wonderful dining experience.
Again an amazing g meal with great service by Maeve and James!!! They always make the experience one of the best in dc. We can’t wait to come back
What a delightful lunch. My guest raved about the salad bar offerings &
how attentive the Entire staff is. I’m returning next Monday with 4 people from Virginia who’ve never been to FOGO. Hear they will soon open more
locations in Virginia! Yeaaahhh
I had dinner for a birthday celebration.
Get your protein on here. Plus a wonderful salad buffet to go along with some of the best Brazilian steak cuts around. My fovorite is the garlic steak but you can't go wrong with any of them. The Filet comes out thick and tender and you get the perfect temperature right at your table. Awesome meat selections! The sides are served family style, and includes cheesy bread, mashed potatoes, polenta slices and fried bananas (for cleansing the palette between steak cuts). Did I mention the "Full Experience" is the way to go? Do it, you won't be sorry. Just bring your hunger, and you'll enjoy never-ending food. We love Fogo de Chao and come here for all of our special occasions. To go along with the excellent food, the staff is wonderful and always quick and helpful. Fatima is my favorite person there. The restaurant is a little on the pricey side especially if you order cocktails, but being in the middle of DC I think it is right in line. Speaking of cocktails, we always order the Caipirinha, the national drink of Brazil. So tasty and refreshing - basically its the Brazilian Mojito. Anyway, its a great value restaurant for us and we're willing to spend the $45+ per person when we go. Great date-night for a hungry couple, but also very family and group friendly in an upscale lively environment. Also, fyi, valet is quick and easy out front for $10.
The wait to be seated was minimal. It was excellent to have a valet to not have to spend too much time finding parking. The service was excellent. The staff was very knowledgeable in providing information as first-timers at this location. Overall excellent! Would highly recommend it!
Outstanding food. Literally, everything was delicious!!
I chose this restaurant for my boyfriend’s birthday! The restaurant was beautiful & we were able to be seated away from the major tables which I liked! The service was prompt & food delicious. I would highly recommend for a birthday dinner, anniversary, date night or intimate catch up with friends if you want to get dressed up!
Great place as always...make sure you don't eat before you come.
Everything was very good but it confusing as first yuu gmyy u.
It was nice I just wish if our table is going. To be in the very very back of the establishment they would put stuff i

Excellent experience ❤ The food was AMAZING; especially the bacon station....
We love FDC! Especially the DC location. This time we went to celebrate the end of summer swimming championships for my son. We enjoyed our brunch.
Fogo de Chao, OpenTable reports, is a leading Brazilian steakhouse. More honest advertising? A dressed up Golden Corral but with fewer steps. Literally.
Instead of being corralled through multiple buffet lines, at Fogo, one picks over a small variety of side dishes--all of them unremarkable and all of them chilling on ice for only the health-inspector-knows-how long. Then, the meat. Cows and chickens and pigs; chickens wrapped in pigs and cows wrapped in pigs; baby sheep and sea meats. Good luck guessing the natural form of whatever gets deposited on your plate. That is because the defining feature of Fogo is the barnyard conveyer-belt that snakes from the fire pits to the tables. Street vendors armed with skewers and dressed up as waiters sprint around, stopping just long enough to mumble a yes-or-no question at the table. No one knows exactly what they say. Everyone understands what they ask: would you like to consume?
And of course you want to consume! You came to consume! In fact, you will consume so much assorted animal muscle that you will experience a gastrointestinal distress best described as “the meat sweats.”
A guilty conscience or an aching gut, whichever arrives first, will protest. There is only so much the human circulatory system can take. At some point, all the fat and the salt and the cholesterol reach such a blood PSI that they threaten to burst your pipes and end the party early. To prevent this, to pause the meat marathon, and it really is just a pause because there is no stopping at Fogo other than to waddle away, one flips a coaster from red to green. The vendors will see. They will stay away a short while, then return. They know the dead meat must go somewhere.
During bulking season, football teams can appreciate this red-light/green-light routine. And the Fogo in DC, a few blocks from the trough of the Capitol, was packed Friday night. It will stay that way. After all, it is and always will be bulking season in America.
Your experiences with us should always be wonderful and leave you completely satisfied, so it's disappointing to read your opinion, Philip. We'd love to discuss your feedback offline, so we'll be sure to send you a direct message. Thank you.
It was an amazing experience. The service was excellent from the managers to cooks and servers.
The bad and the good; but in the end, go have fun!
Unreasonably long wait (over 30 minutes past our reservation time). The staff appeared flustered and overwhelmed. Even once finally seated, it was hard to find our server. For the price of the meal for thee ($225), those things should never happen.
Then, despite that, we had a great time!
The staff clearly relaxed as the rush came to a close, checking in on us often with smiles, kind works, and great service.
At the end of our meal, a manager came to talk, and she explained the difficulty staffing in this difficult time and a Tuesday crowd the likes of which they’d not seen in nearly two years. We really appreciated that outreach.
All told, it’s frankly inspiring to see a restaurant making profits and bringing people back to work. We also had so much fun enjoying the “Brazilian Experience” as the menu terms it.
My hat is off to their ability to pull through an unusually crowded Tuesday night. I am sure they can make adjustments as they start to boom again.
My recommendation: save up some money and go have fun.
Had to keep asking for the food to come around
Excellent!!! Maeve and James were fantastic and the food and entire experience was just phenomenal
It was our first time at this restaurant. We’ve been to other Brazilian restaurants. This by far was one of the best experiences with service! All the servers were attentive and great conversationalists. Very impressive staff. Our conversation with Javier and James stand out. Definitely will add to our list for special occasions and date night occasionally. The food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the carrot ginger soup, the polenta fries and the black pepper bacon. My husband had the “whole experience” and was satisfied with the offerings. I had the salad bar and don’t regret it.
Everything was absolutely great!!!! I haven’t been there in 13 years but it was just like it was 13 years ago, GREAT!!!
Great time..Great food....Great service.....Great time....I adviced them that this place was going to he a great dining experience and to bring their appetite. I don't know if they believed me....but now they do.
Excellent customer service as always.
Great meal! Great service! The grilled honey white cheddar was the best thing I’ve eaten in a while.
I was there with the student I mentor and another alumnus of my college (introducing the two of them). The food and the atmosphere was an excellent kick-off for their new friendship. Aside from the fact that college students tend to stay hungry, Fogo was able to allow me to return him to his apartment, stuffed to the gills.
We celebrated my mother's birthday, and everything was excellent, from the service to the food. Everything was exactly how I remembered before COVID.
My party of six grew to 11 and everyone was deftly accommodated, making for a very happy group of diners. We will return!
This is my third time at this FdC. The service was lacking this time unfortunately. But as always the food was great!!
We apologize for the lack of attentive service this time around, Jane, as our goal is to ensure our guests have everything they need. While we're glad you enjoyed your meal, we hope to welcome you back in the future for a 5-star experience. Thank you.
The Washington DC Fogo de Chao was a great place for my Anniversary celebration.
Great service & great selection of meats!
Really gone downhill. Waited 15 minutes between the time they brought any meat and the next server. Meat has no flavor. Super loud and crowded. Won’t eat there again.
We are sorry to hear of your recent visit. We never want to keep our guests waiting, as attentive service is our aim. We would love to make this up to you, so our team will be in touch via direct message shortly. Thank you.
Service was attentive. Food was excellent.
I went here thinking this was going to be a high quality meal. Unfortunately it’s a tourist trap in Penn Quarter. It’s an over priced buffet with white table cloths. It’s noisy, kids are running around, and they strangely enough one do three entrees.
I mean lets give it a break, if you want to eat loads of meat, for a high price, in a somewhat blaring environment…by all means. For the price, it misses out on all it’s refinements. Disappointed.
Disappointing our guests is never an option, and we are very sorry for not meeting your expectations. We strive to deliver wonderful fine dining experiences with delicious and quality cuts, and we hope to have another chance to impress you. We will be reaching out via direct message soon. Thank you.
The food overall amazing. Lots of waitresses but some of them didn’t serve as they supposed to do.
Yo penso q el arroz y frijoles estaba pasados ya,
