We had such a wonderful time for my birthday! The staff was very thoughtful and knowledgeable. Food was AMAZING.

Three of us girls decided to go with the tasting menu. We were glad we did! We had some amazing samples otherwise might have missed out. Our server was super and the place was close to the Biltmore where we came from. I would visit again when I'm back in Asheville.

I'm surprised I haven't been there any sooner. Somewhere I will be going more regularly!

Absolutely fantastic! I love the format of just sitting down and everything just comes to me. I get to experience food I might not otherwise have tried.

We brought out of town guests and we were able to visit with one another a lot more for not having our faces in menus trying to choose what to eat. I think we (and what I really mean is YOU) made a great impression on them. We talked about the food all weekend.

My husband and I frequent FC often but we both agree this last time was really special. The portions were just right and we were able to eat and enjoy all of the courses right to the very end.

Thank you for the amazing job you do to keep the tasting new and interesting, it makes us want to come again and again!

I had eaten there before and thought it was above board. This go round was compromised—rutabaga ravioli was bitter and tough to eat, soup was cold, pork was over cooked, and dessert was average. The olives were delicious and the wait staff very gracious however.

First visit. Incredible atmosphere and we really enjoyed most of our food. There were some outstanding items and the ambiance made our experience exceptional.

10/10 for atmosphere! Beautiful space, amazing location, and easy parking. The service started out fantastic and we were on cloud 9 about this “new” spot. Beer and wine is fantastic.

We did the 5 course tasting menu and we were shockingly disappointed in how bad the food was. No dish complimented the other, everything was incredibly salty (minus the ravioli and soup which barely had a flavor), and we were there for 2 1/2 hours. We waited over 30 minutes for the dessert portion and our waitress kept saying it was coming or in the window. Once we received it, it was three baby sliced pieces of samples that honestly weren't that great. It was as if you picked up a frozen dessert at the grocery store. There wasn’t one dish we would go back for.

Leaving this review because if you’re particular about what you spend your money on, especially during times of covid, I would NOT grab dinner here. But I do recommended enjoying the atmosphere over beverages.

Amazing place. Love the space and how it's been re-imagined into a restaurant. Food was awesome and service was fantastic. Highly recommend it.

Outdoor dining on a covered upper deck in winter. Cold, but a great option during COVID. Great flavors, excellent service, interesting wines.

We really enjoyed the tasting menu. The meat dishes were amazing! We would definitely do it again.

I love the vibe. I love the beer. The food is fine. What was disappointing was that the menus were incorrect. We were given “old menus” and when ordering the pork chop the waitress did not correct it. When the order came out as a triple pork platter the server brushed it off as “it’s just an old menu. Yeah this is different than the pork chop.” And this particular dish wasn’t any good and didn’t even get finished. For the money it was disappointing and the service recovery was poor.

The setting and service were outstanding but the food left much to be desired. The waitperson seemed surprised that we were locals and they obviously depend on the Biltmore to send guests their way. The chef tried to accommodate our vegan companion but the food was pretty much tasteless and undercooked, even the non vegan choices we made. They did do a great job of COVID protection. I do not plan to return.

Fantastic!! Can’t say enough good things about FC. The food was phenomenal, wait staff (Christian) was amazing, everyone was very knowledgeable. It’s adventurous, creative, historic and friendly. We did the pre fixe menu, worth every cent! You get to try so many things and the cost is fantastic for what you get. Locally owned, locally sourced. It’s a must try. It’s our new favorite in AVL. Keep up the great work gang!!

Awesome Restaurant! Did The five course tasting menu in the dining room beautiful place, The grilled shiitake mushrooms were so good and the Tuna, didn’t pair it with wine, they have a lot of drinks on tap so tried a Highland Park 'DDH Yeah, a great beer, food was great and the service was awesome! And Christian the server was so great as well, knowing everything about the dishes and letting you know what you’re getting next. The have a great wine list as well, will Definitely be back!

Epic amounts of food, everything is executed with care and attention and is delicious. Have had the tuna, pork 3 ways, and steak entree (sharing with my wife) over the past two visits both through the tasting menu. The wine pairings and dessert are also outstanding.

This tasting menu experience should not be missed! The chef did a fantastic job with food selection and cooking/presentation-and our server added to that with great explanations about what we should look for and what the food reminded him of. Food was unusual without being pretentious-potato soup with sauerkraut and sunchoke-delicious! The building and history is very cool-all of which our server explained. Wine and beer choices were also very good. Highly recommend.

We were excited to try this place. We had the chef's menu. Unfortunately, none of the people in our party liked the food at all (and we are not picky eaters). Too much of the food was of a bitter profile or way way too salty. The ambiance was great and the wait staff was great, just the food was horrible.

We did the 5 course tasting menu at Forestry Camp & it was incredible. Every course went so well together! The wait staff was great, & they treated us like we were the only people there. It was very quiet & they maintained social distancing.

I planned a special night for my husband’s birthday while staying in Asheville. We were required to pre pay for the chef’s pre-fixed menu. The food was extremely salty and sour. The first course consisted of bowls of warmed up olives, nuts, mushrooms and kimchi. There was a pumpkin pasta that came out cold and tasted gamey. It was extremely overpriced and disappointing. Our waiter, Christian, was very nice and at least I have one nice thing to take away. I made a point at reservation setting to tell them it was my husband’s birthday. No mention or acknowledgment for his birthday was made when we were there.

We enjoyed the tasting menu which to our surprise, was a 2 and a half hour EXPERIENCE! Those shiitake mushrooms were too good to be true and the entrees.....DAMN!!! Thanks for a lovely night. We loved it more than I can describe!! 10/10 would eat again!

My favorite place to eat and drink in Asheville. Stellar beer list which would bring me in on its own, but the food is equally top notch. Service is always great and the tunes and atmosphere bring it all together for a great dining experience.

Tasting menu was outstanding- a true culinary masterpiece! Great value for the money. We were absolutely stuffed. Highly recommend!

We had the MOST fabulous dinner at the Camp last night. It was more like 7 courses instead of 5 though. There were at least two suprise add ons.

My favorite course was the soup and salad, which sound so simple but was anything but. The pumpkin soup was laden with pork belly that made those bites make you close your eyes and chew slowly to savor the moment. The salad was complicated with figs and whipped goat cheese. It went so well with the soup; warm vs. cold; rich vs. tart and sweet; smooth vs. crisp. It was wonderful.

Maren was so knowledgeable of the wines and took such good care of our 3 hour journey through this culinary experience. The night and food were epic! Such a great value too. We will be back to delve into another adventure from Chef Debrie.

The food was really good. Roast beef sandwich had good flavor and was tender. What held it back was the roll straight out of the fridge. I think the chocolate dessert had good flavor. What held it back was that it was also straight out of the fridge. That made the flavor muted and the crust so-so. The pork chop was wonderful. The garlic potatoes had the right amount of crunch on the skin.

I know it's outside and dark, but a few more candles on each table would help. I'll try this restaurant again...

Wonderful setting and historic space. Lots of outdoor dining, safely crafted. Nice to be able to make reservations too.

Awesome food, service and ambiance. Great wine list. There’s no heaters outside, which is where we ate, so if you are eating outside and it’s going to be chilly, just bundle up. But worth the bundle-food was amazing!

We have been to this establishment pre-Covid and absolutely loved the food. We have not been out to eat more than twice since Covid started and we came here because our daughter was visiting and she had previously loved it!We were disappointed for our 2 o’clock reservation when the menu was incredibly limited. Basically only sandwiches with a couple of appetizers. Somehow we did not catch that when we looked on the website. No problem with the safety as we were seated outside. It was quite windy and heaters would’ve been lovely but I don’t think will return until the menu goes back to a more full level. I feel for all the restaurants and hope everyone survives!
