    Founding Farmers has consistently good food and so many different choices. It's hard for me to decide, however, I'm glad that it's nearby my office so I can go often enough to order something different each time. And of course, I always have to end my meal with a good donut! They're coffee is strong and good - also a good choice.

    Don’t go there on a Sunday morning unless you specifically want the brunch buffet. I don’t eat off buffets for health reasons. So I ordered off the menu. It was not good. The Beignets were cold. I ordered bacon and it was only two slices. And it was expensive. I prefer the location on Pennsylvania Avenue. I have never had a bad experience there.

    My partner and I came in for our anniversary dinner date. Our reservation was for 9pm but it was slow so we got seated around 8:50pm. Our server took our order around 9:05pm and then returned at 9:36pm to tell us that they were out of my partners dish (ravioli). Not sure why it took over 30 min to figure this out but he disappointedly picked another dish. 10:05pm rolled around and we still didn’t have our food. After an hour without our dinners, we cancelled the dinner and requested to cancel the order and cash out. Anniversary dinner date ruined and we ended up being late to a show we had afterwards. Server was not helpful, un-phased, and didn’t seem to care or want to make things right. She hardly came by to check on us, we ate our appetizer without silver ware, and we waited over 20 min to order another round of alcoholic drinks. We love this place but this experience was enough to not come back. I really hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

    The food was very good. Clark our server was fantastic and took the time to discuss the options with us. We did some liquor tasting as well and ended up buying a couple bottles. Highly recommend

    Overrated and very uneven. Host was very welcoming; but seemed to be working with a very wobbly set of staff to take guests to tables. They needed a lot of direction. Our server came and was bright and very helpful. Took a bit to scan the menu, drinks ordered came quickly. But man, the food - totally underwhelming. The starter & salad came quickly. We started w/ the Purple & Black kale salad - passable; and the meatballs starter - no bargain, tasty, but the tiniest little bowl. We'd ordered 2 chardonnays - pretty warm for a white wine - I could make do, but my friend sent his back for a nice cold beer. Then there was a huge gap before the entrees came out. The young chap that was carrying the dishes got stuck in a "who's on first" scenario. He arrived at the table with the dishes in the correct hands for each of us seated on each side of the table, announced the two dishes and then stared at us. He kept saying the same two dish names as one word basically and then waiting for us to claim our entrees - and then switching hands back & forth - and then back again. My dish sauce starting dribbling onto the table and floor and seat. We took charge and took the correct dishes from the correct hand before we were wearing them. Mopped up everything and then took inventory. The server brought a clean napkin. My chicken pot pie was a brimming bowl of basic white sauce (most of which was still in the bowl) and very random carrot potato peas and chicken shreds with a disconnected puff pastry square floating atop. Swanson eat your heart out. Bland. My friend's steak was cooked to order and the best thing that came to the table. The fries it was supposed to come with had to be asked for as there was a lump of heat lamp aged mashed potatoes that had a skin thicker than any rhino. The roasted broccoli side appeared charred yet was stone cold. A replacement broccoli was brought that looked like a completely different dish than what was originally on the plate and was passable.

    Enjoyed the cornbread, fried chicken and chicken fried steak. Crab cake sandwich was meh. Liked the house made ginger soda and mango Rickey. Good service.

    Arrived 15min early for my dinner reservation and was seated immediately, so that was good. Server got my appetizer order wrong (and runner that delivered the food did not understand me when I tried to confirm the order). And my chicken parmesan was pounded so flat/thin that there ended up being more breading than chicken. Kind of a let down.

    Service tonight was a little disappointing. Server came and “borrowed” one of our menus to take to another table and never returned it, so the two of us had to share a menu across the table. We were seated in a back table near the service line, despite having a reservation and the restaurant being relatively empty. There was no salt or pepper on the table, and when I asked for it for my salad, it took almost 15 minutes to receive a pepper shaker. As usual, the food was fantastic, but the service at one of our favorite DC spots left a lot to be desired.

    Went on a Saturday night and sat outdoors. First, rats were outside, but it’s DC. We moved inside. Second, my server was all over the place; he couldn’t remember ANYTHING; actually, it was painful to watch and endure his “performance.” Lastly, the food that came out right was good (not great). Some food came out wrong — twice! The service (aka my server) was theeeeee absolute worst and needs soooo much work.

    Would not recommend. Waited 35 minutes for a drink. Luckily ordered our food when drinks were ordered. Food took over an hour and halfway thru the wait we were told they were out of one of the dishes we ordered. Really bad service. Food was ok. So disappointed as this restaurant was recommended and was our #1 choice to try. Love the concept, but not the execution. Skip this one.

    Below average food compared to other restaurants in DC. I’m not saying it was bad, but it wasn’t so good that I’d come back. Drunken noodles weren’t flavorful, no spice at all. BLT was average. Pork dumpling appetizer was probably the best thing we had. Our server was very nice.

    One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Didn't have half of the entree's my party of 6 ordered. Drinks took over 30 minutes to show up. Was the worst Ribeye i've ever been served in my life. Was embarrassed taking guests into this experience.

    Overall, I was not impressed. Many items on the menu were not available, the food quality was inconsistent (my guest and I ordered the same side with differing results), and, we had to send back an item (and a cocktail). The service was great. We had a lovely server, and the staff handled our needs with care. No fuss about the changes, they fixed every problem quickly.

    Food was very good and a varied selection. The only negative was that of the 4 of us dining one guest didn't get there meal till everyone else was done. The waitress was very good, but should have acknowledge this.

    I’m glad that they have pretty much returned to their pre-pandemic brunch. I miss the carrot cupcakes; bring them back! Of course, some things have changed. The portion sizes of the desserts have shrank.

    Brunch was good. As usual, the service was mediocre, our drinks came over pretty late which was frustrating given the waiting staff don't have to provide any other services (buffet is self-serve).

    We had reservations for 2:15 pm. Their brunch service didn’t end until 3:00 pm. They didn’t get us seated until 2:30 pm and then would not let us get the brunch. I really wanted the brunch though. The food was really, really good. The service was a bit slow though. I ordered a Diet Coke. I didn’t know that it would be a can of Diet Coke and it would cost $4.99. The prices weren’t on the menu so we didn’t know. Overall, it was a great experience.

    My first time trying for restaurant week. Food was very good as well as service. Sat outside because it was an awesome September day for DC but, it was city ambiance. Inside next time. I did take a bottle of bourbon home 😀

    These folks transform the simplest ingredients into flavor bombs of goodness. Always a good meal from cocktails to dessert. My fave DC spot. Amazing.

    Food was good but way too loud and service was slow and inattentive. I also did not appreciate the giant BLM sign out front, which was a bad, divisive message to start our dining experience. It’s obvious that BLM was a huge scam and has only hurt the black communities it fraudulently claimed to be helping. Please remove that sign, it makes your business look silly.
