   Alicia was our server. She provided outstanding service. Founding Fathers need more servers like her. She checked on us during our meal and made sure we got the food items we wanted. She is the model that Founding Fathers should insist all servers should strive to emulate.

   We had a party of 10, so lots of people which can be tough for a service. However, the issue was with the timeliness of the food. We ordered starters for the table, which many of them came out after our entrees. Our servicer was good but did not check on us as much as I thought he should have.

   Amazing service, a bit of a wait for food, kinda loud I had to speak up louder even though my date was across from me, asked for my ribeye to be medium rare but seemed more on the rarer side, but the seven Mac and cheese was so good even my date had it too, definitely outshined the entree, the hibiscus tea tasted like nothing except the lemon I squeezed on top. The worker I asked the check from rolled their eyes and seemed like they didn’t wanna work there :( n then gave me the check so that threw me off guard. My waiter was really attentive and nice though !

   Our waitress has a little attitude with us. She snapped when we told her that we would like separate checks. She said she got it! Next, after requesting the manager to maybe change the waitress, then she was overly nice and accommodating. Finally asked for the checks, she asked us how we wanted the checks!.🤦🏻‍♀️ Then we see that there’s a “5%restaurant recovery”added to the bill and taxed on that… surprised by all. There’s a small paragraph on the menu where we surely missed seeing it. Anyways, the food is good but our experience was not good. The good vibes, enjoyment and relaxation were gone at the start.    The food was ok. Had shrimp and grits. It had cruncy, not very cooked onions and not much grits. The onions and cherry tomatoes did not make the dish good. Forgot to bring a drink ordered, had to be asked again. Also ordered a bottle of wine. Only a glass was delivered, not a bottle. It would have been nice to leave the glass as a sorry for the mistake, but took the glass away and then brought a bottle

    2 orders of grilled cheese came out not thoroughly cooked and with little cheese on them. The waiter was nice enough to reorder them, but by the time we received them, the soup was cold and the other diner in our party was finished eating.

    I have to say that although the people that serve the table were very good the manager and person that gave us the table were horrible. We have a reservation for 5 people at 1.30 and, they manager decided to put us in a slim table and offer to put a chair at the en of the table all crowded. We expended 300$ and we were going to have a good time. This manager really made the experience horrible. There was a table available for 6 people that she decided we were not good enough to have it. Although we were there ready to be sat at 1.30pm. At the time of our reservation. The ironic part was that no one was sat in that table till 2.10pm when 5 people were assigned to that table. Her excuse was that she was saving the table for a party of 6 that had a reservation at 1.45pm., which obviously was not true. We stay because it was a friends birthday and did not want to ruin the party but certainly that is not what I was expecting.

    While they tried to seat us in a quieter area, the noise level was still very high. The server provided less than desired service, mixing up drink orders and not following up on refill requests. He should also have checked in during the meal more often.

    This was my second visit and this time I knew to make reservations in advance because Sunday brunch can be pretty busy. My girlfriends were happy to enjoy some mimosas and bacon wrapped dates to start. My Bleu cheese and bacon burger was pretty decent. I definitely prefer a thin patty like they had, so that was great. But both my friend and I agree that they could’ve been a bit more generous with those toppings as the edges were quite naked. However, their fries were great! I also took home two take and bake chocolate chip cookies. I thought it was odd they didn’t put instructions in the bag. So I just set my oven to 350 and kept and eye on them. In the end they took maybe 18 minutes?? They weren’t the best cookies I’ve had in this area, but I can’t say no to a fresh out of the oven cookie. Our server was great. Very helpful answering all my crazy menu questions.

    Very disappointed, three of us went there specifically to get the Winter stews. Only to be told that the two that we wanted, pork and lentil, and Brunswick stew we’re not available. We were told by the waitress they were no longer going to be on the menu, because they were seasonal. Well, they were on the menu, and it is still winter, so we were definitely disappointed. The meals that we ordered instead were fine, just not what we specifically went there for. Still think this is a high quality place overall, happy about the availability of their menu items… Specifically the winter stews.

    Great selection of comfort food, superbly prepared. Attentive and efficient, but not intrusive service. One nice feature: many parents with children of all ages, amazingly well-behaved. This is a family restaurant in the best sense of the word.

    Went for a breakfast meeting and ordered a favorite FF breakfast. I’m GF and I know that limits my choices but the waitress was really rather impolite when I asked if I could do a non bread side - which is what I normally do. She said whatever I wanted would be an extra $3. That’s the first time that’s happened. It isn’t difficult for a restaurant to carry a GF bread, but if they don’t - offering an alternative with an up charge that increases the price by 30% is a bit outrageous. It just seems out of character for this type of restaurant in this area. Alas. Soured the experience not just because of the up charge but more because of the way she handled it.

    The staff was wonderful and the food was exceptional as always. There was a mishap with my order, but our waitress was quick to fix it. We will definitely be retuning!

    I don’t recommend the prime rib French dip. Very little meat on the sandwich and it was extremely dry.
