Fox & Hound - Philadelphia
Do NOT make reservations - they are NOT honored, despite having called a day before to make sure they were! Thankfully, they were pretty empty - maybe due to Coronavirus, maybe due to word of mouth re: the service/food/etc - so we were able to be seated. Ordered the gummy bear shot - was told they could not make it because they were out of gummy bears (there is a CVS across the street - HOW are you out of gummy bears?!). Anyway, we tried to order food only to be told that the “grill side” was closed and that we could only order fried foods (so, French fries no burgers). Days later, my friend checked her card statement only to find that she had somehow given a $26 tip on a $30 bill. Needless to say, we will not return to this place.
Restaurant was practically empty and food order took almost 40 minutes. For sliders and a chicken sandwich. Ridiculous. Server was very friendly. Food was tasty and well prepared.
Great location across the street to the Kimmel Center. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat before a show. It wasn't quick and they were not crowded. Food was ok bar food.
The food was very good although it took a long time even though the place was empty. I’d be afraid to go if they were busy. The prices were reasonable. Overall, it was good - would go back if we were not in a hurry
Good spot for a preconcert meal (Kimmel Campus). Menu is limited but our meals were good.
The bar was fairly empty with maximum 15 customers. There was one bartender that was working the entire bar and the drinks were mediocre. The food was okay, but could have been better.
We went in stood at the door for 15 minutes before someone said just sit any were when we sat down for another 15 minutes no one came over to acknowledge us take orders anything we just walked out
Pretty bad food and ordering a drink took 15-20 min each time
We were told they do not take reservations and were informed they would not be able to seat us. The hostess said we could order food and drinks from the bar, but there was not an opening at the bar, and certainly not an opening for 4 people. If they are not going to take reservations, they need to remove themselves from Open Table instead of turning people away at the door.
We booked a table knowing it was the Eagles final home game, so we were pretty disgusted when we arrived and provided our name for the table only to be told that the Fox and Hound does not honor bookings on game nights.
I would recommend that you state no reservations on these particular events as it would have given us a heads up on what to expect.
We had to stand for the whole game and then clear off a table ourselves to then have dinner at 8.30 at night.
The booking portal was not closed off for the Eagles game and we didn’t get a table actually reserved. If we knew that would have went in an hour or two before to game for first come first serve. We had to leave half time to find a place where we could eat.
Terrible experience. I made a reservation and when I walked in they told me they are not honoring reservations. They could of called us to let us know
They let me make reservation but when we showed up they won’t honored my reservation. So we had to go somewhere else. Go to Fadó next for better food better drink deals and still a good crowd.
Refused service due to capacity, and said that they do not honor open table reservations. Will not be returning or using open table again due to significant disappointment from this experience.
Army navy game
Simply horrible all around
Stood around waiting for a table. No service, no table. We left.
This location does not honor Open Table reservations. Thankfully there was a table available when we arrived. We sat for nearly 30 minutes without a single staff member stopping by the table. When we finally found a server and asked if we could order, we were informed that our section didn’t have anyone assigned to it until 7pm.....another 30 minutes. One of the other servers picked up our table but it was apparent we were not her priority. It was difficult to order and get drink refills. Not the greatest experience.
This is a good place to watch games because there are a lot of TV’s however the service was terrible. We had to waive down our waitress multiple times. She didn’t bring us waters, napkins or utensils for a while after our food arrived.
We made a reservation for 11 people. We arrived and were told that they don’t take online reservations. I told them that I made the reservation through Open Table. They said that location doesn’t take them. Once we got there we realized that it was not the environment that we wanted. It was very load and looked dirty. We left.
They didn’t actually have a table for our group of 14. Upon arrival, we were told there was a $5 cover charge per person and there was no table for us. We were told OpenTable doesn’t allow them to remove available times from the service. They offered to allow us to wait around at the bar or small tables to see if one of the large tables would become free. We went elsewhere to try to find a restaurant which could seat our group at 8:30p on a Saturday night.
We had a great experience
The restaurant does not take open table reservations and does not honor them so don’t waste your time
We booked a table via OpenTable only to find out that Fox and Hound does not use OpenTable for reservations. I’m mever using OpenTable again.
They were out of half the menu
Bathrooms are really dirty and need repair/updating (stall door latches were broken). Food was not great. Had salad topped with chicken. Got two stems of lettuce in my bowl the size of 50 cent pieces and the chicken was lukewarm and dry. Ordered Kendall Jackson Chardonnay but they were out.
It was ok. The waitress was nice but service was a little slow. It seemed like they were understaffed.
They canceled my reservation.
Over cooked chicken fajitas with overcooked, dry rice, under cooked fish sandwich that we were told came out of the freezer and that came with oversalted fries, slow service, no metal silverware (we were given a plastic package of plastic silverware). One booth table was almost against the table and the other was way far away, and neither could be moved. Servers were confused about everything.
1. Walked in and there was no one up front for us to confirm our reservation. 2. After I found an emoployer to check it they said they had never checked the computer to see that we placed a reservation 3. They went around and checked if there was an open table which they returned saying they had nothing left. 4. He then returned to his job leaving ya standing there and resulted in us leaving
