Fratelli Fresh Crows Nest
The restaurant cancelled my booking 2 hours after making it through this app. Apparently the app was not up to date.
So disappointed in the new Spring menu !!! We all found it hard to find something to order . Only one fish option with an odd salad. Luckily they managed to replace it with the always delicious brussel sprouts side dish. Also no side salad on the menu only a $21 option ! Yikes ! So sad as it is our go to restaurant normally . Looks like we will have to wait for the Winter menu to see the meat balls & the Trout again ? Hopefully ??
Food was fresh and hot, but food was just average. not bad, just not that great either.
Not a bad experience, but you can do much better, and you missed out on revenue by not being a little more flexible with the tables..
Food is really good. The $20 public holiday surcharges was a bit much. service was good
Lovely people but forgot our mains. Under cooked food and overall very expensive for what you get. Many more options in Crows Nest with better food and service
The prawn pasta was excellent and the food came out quickly.
I order the Fish special - it was so dry that I had only two bites of it and then left my meal. This is the third time I have been to this place and each time its been a very poor experience. I will never return - food poor, service ok, location good, wine list good - but when you wrap it all together - overall its poor
Another great night ! I dine here with friends at least every fortnight & I just love the food, the service & the cocktails ! A great neighbourhood gem ! Loved by families, couples & groups alike.
Good for big group
dissapointing food quality
it is not recommended for any special occassion
We enjoyed our experience at Fratelli Fresh Crows Nest.Great service ,beautiful tasty food and wonderful ambience.
We had a cosy booth and I certainly loved the decor : black white and pops of red.
Nice sit up bar as well!
i made my booking via this website and when I rang Fratelli's general phone number to reduce the numbers, the booking didn't seem to be registered with the restaurant. I then received an email confirming the reduced numbers, but when we got to the restaurant it still didn't seem to be known about. We were told this was not the restaurant's fault. However, later on we did receive an apology from a staff member. This issue may have been fixed since we went, but otherwise I would suggest phoning to make sure of your booking.
This was my third visit to Fratelli Fresh in Crows Nest. The service has improved, but it was quiet this particular lunch time.
The staff are always friendly and the food good and reasonably priced.
Food was great as usual. We had 17 people and they catered well, we didn't have to have a set menu like most restaurants. Great atmosphere!
Great staff and great food. Really enjoyed it. So glad it's opened up in Crows Nest.
I had the linguine with prawns and I was really disappointed unfortunately. The pasta was way beyond al debate, it seemed really hard and under cooked and there were chunks of pasta all stuck together. I went with the option to add prawns and there were about three in the entire bowl. I found the flavour quite bland unfortunately.
The cod was cooked perfectly and chilli, lemon and prawn spaghetti was great. Well worth a visit for either lunch or dinner.
Food was Ok, our waitress was nice and friendly but they forget our main course order and we waited 30mins between entrée and main.
I went to Fratelli Fresh at Crows Nest when it first opened and the service let it down, had hoped that it had gotten better - alas not.
Won't go again as its not cheap and frankly our order should not have been forgetten
Front of house terrible. And not great to be told your table is now only available for an Hour and half when it's a booking for 11 people...made moths ago. Service pretty mediocre.
Absolutely dreadful !!!
Too noisy and we were placed at the furthest table at the back of the restaurant, might as well have been sitting in the kitchen.
Food was below average, too overpriced and staff were not attentive at all. They were all way too busy standing behind the bar talking and polishing glasses.
Worst cold pizza I have ever eaten .. 2 desserts ordered only one was received .. special sold out by 6.45 !!
Great waitstaff and delicious food. Loved it!
Very nice food
Food disappointing sadly
This was a second visit as enjoyed the first (food and Service). Very average service for our second visit with one waitstaff unable to understand or speak English which was strange. Some of the food was really nice but some overcooked (chicken schnitzel) and the signature lobster pasta was dry with hardly any lobster meat in it. However, it was the waitress rolling her eyes as our friend was trying to work out the credit card machine when he was actually trying to enter a tip. Just rude really and won't be going back.
Fish was over cooked and pricey
They don't really do gluten free which was surprising. So my wife had a steak instead which wasn't a very good cut. The pasta I had was very good & I suspect the pizzas would be good too. Will try them sometime when my wife is out.
Good service but this is the second time I have been and frankly quite underwhelmed with the food. Seafood pizza was quite sloppy with too much sauce on the base which made it soggy. The beetroot salad was quite bland ie: needed some dressing.. The lentils were quite dry. A shame as it is definitely inferior food compared to the other fratelli's.
When we arrived for our booking our table was not ready so the very friendly manager offered us a complimentary drink at the bar. The manager, Marco and his waitstaff were all very attentive through our whole dining experience. The food was all tasty and good quality. Fratelli Fresh Crows nest has a great vibe.
Fratelli is always great food. The food and service was excellent. The wine is expensive ($55 for a relatively standard Chianti). Also, booking online gave us a tiny table at the rear of the restaurant, even though there were several spacious booths not being used. We were initially told that the booths are saved for groups of 6, however, when pressed we were re-seated. I felt that the booths were being saved for walk-ins (when pre-booked customers should have priority).
Overall food was good except the sale was a bit too salty. It's very noisy which is more suitable for group of friends fun chatting than just enjoy quiet meals
Good service for party of 8 considering busy lunch time crowd. Nice pizzas. Nice house wine.
Food wise worst restaurant I have ever been to,
the breads were stale
the tap water was hot
had to wait too long to order the meals
the squid was more batter than squid
the lasagna had too much source
the lamb ragu was supposed to have chilli and had cheese on the penne.
It was our anniversry we would could have stayed at home and had a better meal of bake bean on toast.
My wife can cook much better than what was served up
We had read the mixed reviews but were delighted that our experience was very positive particularly with the quality of the service and food. We will definitely return
Unfortunately our waiter was terrible, so much so that it seriously affected our enjoyment of the meal. While there seemed to be a language barrier, there was also an attitude problem (not really apologetic about errors) and a lack of attentiveness. The problems seemed to be exacerbated by the holiday season with many of the dishes (including a number of the specials) being unavailable. We were informed that no salads at all were available. While we did not initially take this to mean that no vegetables were available either, that was unfortunately the case. Food was bland, uninteresting and poorly seasoned. The finale was that we had been waiting to order another bottle of wine with our dessert and when we finally got the waiter's attention he told us that they had stopped serving just a few minutes earlier at 10pm. I would have expected to have been notified. We decided to end the pain there and go home for dessert.
Appalling food and service . Sent everything back . Bitterly
disappointing - would not recommend . Service non existent - kitchen staff need to know menus . 2 out of 12 Specials available .
Great yummy food, terrible service however, we ordered at 8:15, got our main around 9:30 after having to ask twice. Same with some extra drinks we ordered. The service was a let down, however the food was good.
This was the most disappointing dining experience I've had in a long time. Fratelli in the city and Alexandria were previously among our favourite restaurants so when it opened up the road from our place we were excited.
The service was beyond terrible. The music is just random radio type tunes and creates not vibe at all. It seems like pasta from a packet and some canned tomatoes and frozen prawns were used. NO flavour. Soggy pizza. Terrible Prosseco & coffee. Staff smoking out the front!
Fratelli is consistent across all outlets. A bit like the McDonalds of Italian food. Honest food but nothing that your average neighbourhood Italian does not do at least as well. Wine prices a little steep and as there are local Italians with a BYO policy so for me it's nice to have here but ....
Friendly young staff and service is good.
I have eaten at every Fratelli over some years and since the change of ownership there has a been a decline in quality.
However, a good place for a simple meal.
We had the cold meat platter to start - meat was dry and tasteless and bread was cold and stale. Then had flavourless meatballs which we needed a lot of extra parmesan cheese for but despite our hunger, couldn't finish. The pasta was over-cooked. Not good Italian food. Italian food is cooked with passion and has the world's attention because of its flavour and presentation. Try Da Mario, Via Napoli, Vacanza before you waste your time and money on this one.
