Fratello's Italian Tavern - Park Circle
We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and the service was excellent. We will certainly be going back!
Went last week for the first time. Everything was so excellent we went back again a week later and had the same fantastic experience. Our new favorite Italian restaurant.
Our waiter Johnathan took great care of us.
Awesome! A Charleston favorite for us!
My wife and I love Italian food in this restaurant absolutely is one of the finest in the Tri-County area. A delicious lasagna, so big we had to bring some of it home. Fantastic service and a very reasonable price. A really great Italian restaurant!
Our group of 5 visited this restaurant while visiting Charleston over the weekend. Great ambiance, delicious food and a very attentive waiter (Preston)! Thank you.
Very dark..honestly could not see menu or food..finally moved to a table with a lamp..This needs to be corrected! Spaghetti and meatballs..meatballs good..spaghetti did not have enough sauce..veal, both Marsala and picatta dry....not our best experience!
I have never had a bad meal at Fratellos’s they have wonderful dishes and it is in a great location.
Two of us dine out frequently and we appreciate good food and service in the Charleston area. Sadly, Fratello's Italian Tavern was a big disappointment. Johnathan, our server, was attentive and answered our questions.
We started off with:
Crispy calamari tossed with sliced sweet or hot cherry peppers. – $13
This dish was tiny, really skimpy. I mean really insubstantial for two to share.
The squid was almost paper-thin but nicely dusted with a crispy batter.
Next, we shared:
Crisp romaine, garlic herb croutons, pecorino romano, tossed in house-made Caesar
dressing. – $11
This dish was greatly overwhelmed with dressing and cheese. Way too much of both. It was almost inedible.
Next, one had:
The house special, Seafood tossed with Linguine in a red sauce. - $28
This diner enjoyed this dish.
Next, one had:
White wine, lemon, garlic, herbs, capers, and butter. -$24
This diner said it was dreadful. The sauce of lemon and butter was overpowering. Almost greasy and bitter. The veal was not pounded thin as specifically requested to the waiter. Instead, it was lumpy and chewy and unpalatable. This diner did not finish this dish. The side of angel pasta was served with marinara sauce. The pasta was not al dente and the sauce was thick and gooey.
One diner had two glasses of Chianti and the other had a soft drink.
The total bill was over $120 with tax and tip.
I can't think of an Italian restaurant in the greater Charleston area that I like better!!
Veal was very good. Much better than the apps and salad.
Service was excellent
A bit noisy ! Service and food were excellent
Great dining experience. Very satisfied!
Excellent find in Park Circle. Great locals spot to enjoy fantastic Italian cuisine.
Special occasion not acknowledged even though on reservation.
Ate here with the family for dinner on NYE and we all thought the food was AMAZING! The service was prompt and attentive. Our waitress was very understanding of allergies at our table which was much appreciated. It was a great experience dining here!
The eggplant was excellent!
We had a great night, thanks!
The food at Fratello's is close to the Italian food from the New York metro area. Servers were very attentive. The only criticism is that the tables are too close together.
Excellent experience! We will be back !
The service was outstanding. The food was excellent. The deserts were outstanding. Would definitely recommend this place for fine Italian food!!
Good food! Nice staff. A bit loud if you’d like to have conversation.
Great food and service was stellar homemade marinara sauce was amazing. Great for dates
The meal and experience were good. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was our favorite. The restaurant is pretty load though. We probably would have planned to come back but when we were about to leave a staff member came over to us and soured the experience. We are brand new parents and wanted a nice night out with our family and new baby. The staff member thought it was funny to tell us and the people around us that we needed to be “better trained” because it shouldn’t take two of us to get the baby loaded up. It was embarrassing and uncalled for. We will spend our hard earned money and special nights out elsewhere moving forward.
Average food but good value and fabulous friendly service. It's old school Italian in a neighborhood setting.
Our table was the one making it a little noisy in there😊
This place is wonderful, the service the best!
Food was plentiful and very good. Would definitely visit again.
Hostess was Michelle and she was outstanding. Also waitress was really great and recommended good items. Staff and food was really great. Well trained and very nice. Will be back..................
Usually love this place but ordered one of the specials and was underwhelmed. Part of it was cold and when I asked, the waiter said it is supposed to be that way, but it was icy cold. Took it home to try and eat and still not good. A lot of $$ to not even be able to eat it.
Food was delicious. I have a suspicion that someone with a more refined palette might find it a tad bit oily. Charming date night atmosphere. Server was friendly. The only real downside was the temperature. It was unpleasantly warm.
Have had dinner there many times but my first time having lunch and should have realized they are as generous we their lunch as they are with their dinner servings. Service and food are always terrific. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any Italian Food lovers.
We very Mich enjoyed our meal at Fratello's. I started with the Italian vegetable soup which was delicious and then shared the Fratello said with me wife that was also very good. My main course of lasagna was good although I should have preferred the sausage be ground instead of sliced. Mt wife's chicken caciatory was excellent. The best was the tiramisu along with a good cup of coffee for me and a cappuccino for my wife. Our server did a great job. All told with a glass of wine and a cocktail it came to a reasonable $120.
Awesome food. Best Italian restaurant in Charleston.
We loved our experience at Fratello’s! Our server Jules (Jewels?) was so sweet, our food was delicious and the chef and manager both came over to check on us while we were dining! Impeccable service and teamwork paired with yummy Italian made for a memorable meal! So glad we stopped in!
We were not sure that Fratello's was the level of what we usually expect. We were both extremely happy with the experience. Arron our waiter was beyond attentive and steered us in the right direction. The service was excellent and our meal consisted of a mushroom appetizer and the daily special, mahi-mahi on bean salad. This was as good of a meal we have ever had. The chef Kevin came to our table to check things out to be sure our experience was first class. We would have had a hard time finding an experience as good as this one 10 miles to the south in downtown Charleston.
Always a wonderful dining experience! The food is outstanding!
My husband and I went doe our anniversary and it was very good. The drink selection was unique. The food was plentiful with amazing combinations of flavors. I recommend for any special occasion! Bon appetit!
Great food and service!
