We ordered from the crepe menu - we are vegetarian so there was a lot to choose from from this menu. The cocktails were really good and the food was tasty. The service was excellent and we really liked the ambiance. Definitely a great place for a date night. We saw that they also had cordoned off areas where you could have a private get together for a group party. Would definitely go back.
Just an afternoon out fir brunch. Food was good and our waiter was attentive.
Excellent place where you can dine and actually have a conversation with your companions. Large covered outdoor dining tables are available. Outdoor and indoor ables are spaced well and the staff is taking cleanliness and covid precautions very seriously.
Excellent Food and service !!! That is really French one !!
Located in a plain Milton shopping strip the restaurant offers ample parking space. Inside doesn't dazzle, but is functional and pleasant to the eye. The menu offers a selection of dishes for lunch, dinner, or brunch. We took the fried calamari appetizer that was outstanding. We enjoyed the French Cheese Plate as well. As the main course, we tried Loup de Mer (Mediterranean Sea Bass), the classic Beouf Bourguignon. Both choices were excellent. We followed with Creme Brule and a tarte. On the menu there are also salads, vegetarian choices, sandwiches and burgers, as well as pasta.
The wine selection is well prepared to pair all the food on the menu.
Great couples double date dinner. Drinks and food were amazing. Loved the patio with heater.
Not a fan. Slow service. Never even got to the main meal because we decided to get out.
Was our first time and had the BEST experience. Servers were so fun. Wine tasting was amazing and food was delicious. We had mussels for appetizers then, I had veal and my husband had the beef. Left with a bottle of wine and can’t wait to go back.
Did go on a Wednesday so it was not busy, all staff wore masks and we felt safe.
Lovely dinner aqt the French Gourmet! The oysters were delicious and our entrees were yummy! And the French Onion soup was superb!
Everything was delicious and special. Looking forward to our return. Loved the owners & staff.
Waited 30 minutes at the table. No one ever spoke to us. No one said they would be right with us. We could see very few people had food. So, we decided to get up and leave as it appeared we would be there for hours.
Could have been a staffing or kitchen problem. We felt bad for them but just didn’t have 2-3 hours to eat. Might try it again someday. Went to Salt and were served in minutes.
Not same old same old menu. Lovely staff. Food is great
Great food ! Wonderful dining atmosphere. Will go again
Food is always deliciously prepared and graciously served. We are fans! Caesar salads, beef bourguignon, reasonably priced Bordeaux and a banana split crepe to share for dessert! All excellent.
I do not like writing a negative review. But, I could have made better food at home. It was expensive for food that was sub par. One would think, in this climate, the staff would not look bored. I will not go back.
Lovely little spot with authentic French cuisine in Alpharetta! Almost don't want to share how fabulous it is in case they get too busy...Three of us dined on a lovely fall Saturday. I made a reservation to be on the safe side, and called because we were running a bit late. They had plenty of space when we arrived and seated us socially distant from another two-top table on the covered patio. Mimosas on Saturday are only $3 each, and we enjoyed those, plus mussels and escargot for appetizer. The French Onion soup is some of the best I've ever had. And, the crepes are HUGE. The Bouillabaise is authentic, with fish, mussels, shrimp and calamari. The cafe BonBon is also quite delicious. Our server was genuine, most pleasant and the service was prompt - keeping water and soda refilled and not at all bothered when we asked if we could move out of the sun to a different table. We will definitely become regulars here and look forward to trying all the wonderful dishes on the menu!
Love this restaurant! Authentic but not pretentious French food. Delicious food and drinks, and great service. Covered patio for outdoor dining as well.
The food just wasn’t very good. The steaks were all fat. my son asked for well done and it was medium rare. Overall the food just wasn’t very good. My daughters pasta sauce didn’t taste good. The chicken in my wife’s meal was dry.
I would not recommend it.
The food was mediocre at best. I had the bouillabaisse and the shrimp (2 pieces) and scallops (two tiny bay scallops) were overcooked and didn’t taste fresh. Too much fish used a filler, like cheap salmon. The service was quite slow despite only a handful of people in the restaurant.
Amazing apple crunch French toast! Best hand squeezed OJ mimosas I’ve ever had. Super nice waiter. Definitely going back again.
Great experience! First time out after covid, and everyone was following the correct procedures.
The Bouillabaisse was outstanding. The cheese platter so good. The crepes awesome. Can’t wait to go back. Everything was delicious. Prices are very reasonable
New interesting menu
Price value excellent
Perfect meal size
Service efficient and friendly
Peaceful ambiance
My favorite restaurant for lunch and dinner
Our recent visit was our first in many weeks and we were reminded of how much we missed the great food and warm service. The ingredients are top notch and the preparation is traditional. Delicious and reliable fare.
Celebrating our 51st wedding anniversary with fantastic crepes. Food was great as was the service and we enjoyed the quietness.
Just an overall wonderful experience
The food was very tasty. Portions seemed a little small for the price. I would go back.
I have to say that I was very impressed with the quality of the food. I got the calamari and it was amazing. I've had calamari all over the world and even at 5 star very expensive restaurants and this rivals all of them. The remainder of the meal was also excellent. I got the chicken with pasta and my wife got the beef with vegetables (sorry can't remember the actual french names of the dishs) -- Suffice it to say amazing and then for desert the crepes oh yeah.. that's the stuff.. the strawberry desert crepe was just Y U M. You won't go wrong going here if you love sauces this is the place we'll be back!!! The only reason for the value at 3 stars is that it is a little pricey.. not that it's not totally worth it but trust me you get what you pay for .. go here support a local small business you'll thank me.
The food here is delicious! We had the salmon and the duck confit. Both very nicely flavored and served with the perfect sides. My husband had the French Negroni as an appertif and found it less bitter than than the Standard Negroni with just the right hint of sweetness.
It was a delightful evening. Usually I don't enjoy live music with my dinner, but the piano players/singer added a nice touch. The food was excellent and our server was perfect. Not a sour note to the evening. (pun intended)
What a great find! The food was very good and the service was excellent. This place is tucked behind a sushi restaurant and next to an Indian restaurant. It sits back off Windward Parkway. Great experience. We’ll be back.
Sauces were tasty!
Food was very good. Excellent portions but lacked a bit of flavor. Service was outstanding. Prices were reasonable. Room was very cold.
Food was extreme good. Great ambiance but could use a little greenery to give it a more intiment feeling.
We went to this restaurant for Valentine’s Day dinner and it was our first time so we had no expectations. Perhaps they didn’t anticipate the number of customers but we had reservations for almost two weeks. We had to wait 5 minutes for a table to be set up.
Once we were seated no one poured water and the server never said she would be with us shortly. Instead she was taking pictures for another couple who had already had dinner and were waiting on dessert.
We waited at least 15 min for the server to stop by and that’s when we were served water. By then we had plenty of time to pursue the limited menu and make a selection. We had to ask to order a glass of wine. And order an appetizer immediately. My fork accidentally fell in the floor and I asked for another one. When the salads arrived I didn’t have a fork and the server never looked in our direction to catch her eye so my husband got up to find a fork.
The food was served within a reasonable amount of time for a fairly busy restaurant and the dishes were well presented and a reasonable serving unless you are very hungry. Because we ordered ala carte we chose not to get dessert to keep the price under $100. With tip it was over $100 for two. One of us got soup and one got a salad. Personally I thin $12 for a cup of French Onion soup is outrageous since I can make it myself and it’s very easy. I think my husband’s salad was either $7 or $10 which again is hugely marked up.
Overall it was a pleasant night out with decent food and adequate service. Don’t think we will give it a second visit but you may have a better experience on a night that’s not a special occasion.
This is a great restaurant with great food, normally. I We went on Valentines Day like we did last year. However they decided to do a fixed menu this time and I just didn’t care for the options. The choices seemed to want to cater to the masses where we prefer the more authentic French options. Also our appetizers came out with the entrees, they took the entree back and brought them later. But you could tell it was just the same entree that had just been kept warm so it wasn’t fresh anymore and the risotto was thick and gloopy. Having said that, I blame it on just being a holiday and they were trying something new. We will be back because it truly is a great restaurant with great food. I just hope they don’t do the fixed menus anymore.
We are new to the area but already have been there several times. Excellent food and service.
The local is nice but the menu, for a French restaurant very limited. Service was OK. Food needs more flavor!
Everything about this place is great! The staff was very friendly and the service was awesome. The food was incredible!
We recently had a fantastic meal at French Gourmet Bistro! It was so nice to see interesting choices on the menu - my husband had the osso buco and I had the bouillabaisse. Both were delicious pared with a nice reasonably priced bottle of wine. We will return.
