Feb 14, 2021限定Gambaro Seafood Restaurant, and feast on our specially crafted three course Valentine's set menu for $95.5p/p ENTREE: Tuna Tartare with beetroot and raspberry MAIN: Choice of Angus Eye Fillet MB3+ 250gm roast kipfler, broccolini, red wine jus or Fish of the Day served with herb salad, lemon Crumbed & Battered: choice of aioli or tartare sauce Grilled: choice of lemon caper butter, sauce vierge or aioli Served with a shared mixed leaf salad. DESSERT: Peaches and cream with almond crumble
Had to wait 20 minutes for a table although we had booked. Wait staff forgot the wine, didn’t refill water glasses or wine, wait staff reached across guests to serve other guests. Dessert order was incorrect. Food was very nice but not as good as when the old man was around, service definitely needs improvement.
The restaurant is expensive for what you get. For the price you would expect table cloths, and a more innovative way to present seafood.
If this is all you do and you tout this as your speciality then you need to showcase the product in it's best light. Do something other restaurant aren't or can't! We had the hot and cold seafood platter ($180), the cold seafood appeared to be fresh and of good quality, but the hot platter was served as a kind of 'stew' with corn nibblets and bits of potatoes. Nothing wrong with the flavours but for that money I would like to see my food presented in a manner that more inspiring. The service was okay, there were enough wait staff, but they seemed flustered most of the time and at the end of the night (around 10pm) they kind of all disappeared? So it was hard to get their attention. The white wine we ordered wasn't cold and when mentioned it to the staff they seems perplexed as what to do.... we said get some ice to chill our glasses! The wait time between the cold and hot course (they offered to serve them separately) was too long, as was the wait for the desert. The venue as the air of being in a hotel, and it is. It's not fancy, though it pretends to be and isn't coming off as a fine dinning experience. I think I've had better value seafood platters in pubs, and I can't comment on the a la carte menu, but it look good as it passed by. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, it just wasn't a great experience.
Went to celebrate our engagement, enjoyed the cold seafood platter for two. We were happy with the price given the quality of the food and service.
Excellent evening with fantastic fresh food and wonderful service
Extremely noisy, lobster thermidors not hot, topping quite runny. Bread rolls and eye fillet outstanding, but query value for price. Greek salad, chips both very good. Moet at $99 for bottle good value. Kids meal including steak good value.
We ordered rock oysters Kilpatrick and the lobster mornay special. It was nicely cooked and very tasty. Obviously the lobster had been frozen and on the small side, but given they were $55 for a whole lobster good value. However we were very disappointed when the waiter told as they were from Florida given there is supposed to be a glut of lobsters in Australia ATM. We like to buy Australian, especially seafood and would prefer restuarants to do the same.
We had the special Lobster Thermidor lunch & some great entree’s. (natural rock oysters & prawn cocktail) Also had a glass of the Moët Chandon special. We really enjoyed the experience - a real treat

Apart from the company of my husband it was a very disappointing experience. Service was very slow, not all cocktails available as per the menu and the seafood BBQ was overcooked - salmon dry, prawns dry and not juicy and the scallops were almost rubbery. Both entrees were delightful - raw fish and King Crab. Overall, overpriced for poor service and an overcooked main meal.

We were celebrating our coming back to Queensland with our friends and shared the lobster specials.We all were happy about the food and the Cape Mentelle semillon Sauvignon Blanc.The sweet were also good but the service very very slow...The restaurant was not terribly busy but the kitchen was slow and our waitress did not know the menu ‘s composition as well as checking our table regularly.

Had single lobster roll as entree and whole lobster Thermidor as main with cocktails and bottle pier LTC all served under cover restrictions but very well. It was the chef's cooking and assembly that was outstanding especially the light touch with the lobster main. Have already booked for a return.

•Service was non-existent and when you could get one of the waiters attention they could not understand you and had no idea about the menu, drinks or generally how to serve - (I would understand somewhat if the restaurant was busy, but there were many empty table).
•Food was something you could get at a basic fish and chip shop but very expensive and no consistency.
The Manager did talk to us when I complained about not being able to get someone to take our initial drinks order and said he would comp that round on him however after looking at the bill when I got home this did not occur. He did speak to us again on our way out and we did advise him of how bad it was, all he said was “ok thanks for letting me know”!

Delicious and Fresh what more do you want from a seafood restaurant
The services are good and the staff are friendly. The food is at high quality.
An excellent meal. The service was prompt. All covid measures had been taken but were not over the top so as to spoil the occasion.
Mt Partner and Myself had a great meal at your restaurant on New Years Day, the service we received from James was excellent and overall we had an excellent lunch.

The restaurant decor was classy, very pleased to eat without the noise of other patrons drowning out your conversation. Drink choices in abundance with a wide seafood selection. I will definitely refer others and will visit again. Fine dining at its best A+.
We had a very nice experience and the wait staff were very attentive.
I have never written a negative review on a restaurant before. The crayfish was deplorable. The only saving grace was the wine. I have read other reviews. I must have been at the wrong place. Would like that 1 1/2 hours pf my life back. If you go there good luck .

Everything was amazing. However they have double charged us and we are still waiting for a call back.
platter for 2 was too expensive for what it was wouldn’t order again too much ice not enough seafood. A whole lobster would be better than half for the money paid
The staff were lovely, particularly the Irish man who was super friendly and helpful while not pretentious given my family aren’t really used to set menus and were nervous about making gaffs. Thank you all!
It’s not often the planets align and all the boxes are ticked. We had a really lovely night with amazing food and fantastic service. I’m looking forward to trying their other restaurants.

Everything was the best quality the service was excellent
Nice atmosphere, we were a table of 8 celebrating a birthday. When we arrived we were seated at a large square table near the entrance, we asked if we could be moved to a smaller quieter table so that we could all talk and hear each other, we were moved with no problem, staff were very friendly and service was great.
Food was delicious, a few people at our table ordered the $99 set menu and were very happy. Our birthday dessert was received with a candle and birthday wishes written in chocolate on the plate.
Overall great food and service.
Not recommended, much better value elsewhere! Service was slow as not enough wait staff on.... Seafood was nice.

Excellent at all levels and very impressive food quality and value
Our group has, in the past, been very big supporters of and constant patrons at Gambaro's. After Saturday evening we'll be hard pressed to ever return.
The food was very good, however it's priced so that it should be.
The wine list was poor. It has too big a gap between the bottom and the top and virtually no "intermediate" value (in all varietals).
The service, from an experienced waiter, was "placid" at best. 3 of us left the restaurant saying "had the waiter shown an ounce of energy, we would have bought at least another 3 bottles of wine".
A disappointing experience alround, albeit with great food (but again, at a price point where the food should be good). I'm concerned for the viability of the business now that the wonderful long-term owner has departed.
Michael's presence was missed, and the departure of his good management and attention to detail, was obvious on what was a very busy and active floor.

Cannot fault the service or ambience but the prices are outrageous. Food was well cooked but there isn’t any value for money.
