Garden Restaurant at The Barnes Foundation
Very pleasant place for lunch. Large windows overlooking garden. Very good food and service. No loud music. I will return and recommend it to friends.
Sunday brunch is a real pleasure! Food is great, crowds are small and prices are reasonable.
Food was exceptional! Had the crab cake as did others at the table and everyone raved about them. Coupe with us were from Denver, CO and rated the Philadelphia Crab cakes the best they had ever eaten, but the Garden's were the best in Philly. We got the recommendation from a Philly resident and Barnes Member and we gave them rave reviews for their selection. Thanks for a great experience!
A very pleasurable experience. The server was helpful and attentive. The food was very good . Local ingredients and very fresh. It is a good way to cap off your visit to the Barnes .
This is an oasis on the parkway. We went on a Saturday morning for brunch and couldn’t have been happier. The food was good, the service very good indeed, and the setting is lovely. While visiting the art collection is certainly a great experience, one does not need to do so to take advantage of eating here. We’re looking forward to the warmer weather when the outdoor terraces open.
Accommodated my friend's special meal request.
Hostess, server and wait staff very attentive and friendly.
The venue is very nice. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre and has been for some time. I think the time has come to offer another menu or get a new chef.
Fussy food, a little overpriced. Pleasant room. OK for lunch if you're visiting the Barnes Collection, but not the best use of your food dollar in Philly.
Great food and service... A little too noisy... But otherwise, wonderful.
Beautiful setting, food was wonderful & artfully presented. The service/staff was the best part of the experience. Price was only thing that might prevent me from coming back.
The food and service were great, but it was freezing cold in the restaurant. It was a cold day, but the wind just seemed to rush through. Not many lower fat options, but the food was very good.
Valentine Day date - it was great!
Ideal setting for a couple, married 40 years, to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The restaurant is absolutely fabulous. The lunch menu was a perfect mix of light fare to more substantial entrees. The ingredients were certainly all from scratch and so fresh and delicious. We split a salad and falafel and the kitchen split and plates both for us- so nice. The room is bright and airy and pleasant to be in even on a rainy day. Our server was friendly and his timing was great. Can't say enough good things about this lovely restaurant.
Wonderful for brunch! The menu was perfect for our group which included vegans and meat lovers, breakfast lovers and salad lunchers.
We went on a weekday afternoon in February. I made reservations but we probably didn’t need them. The museum and restaurant were the quietest I have ever seen them. The creme brûlée was the best I've ever had. The coffee that accompanied it was also very good. Because of the cold, rainy day, we were attracted to the Rueben served with sweet potato fries. The fries were wonderful but the sandwich itself was a disappointment. The Rueben was made on an onion roll instead of the traditional rye. The roll really did nothing to enhance the sandwich. I ended up deconstructing the sandwich and eating it with fork and knife.
Excellent!!! First time will definitely return!
Perfect ending to our highlights tour! Thx to Morgan (our server) & kitchen staff! Thx to server who took our group picture (we were gathered for a mini high school reunion)
Didn't love the Sunday Brunch menu - trying to do breakfast-y things on menu with lunch-y things on a very small menu didn't offer the variety our group hoped for. Good food though. (Yogurt and fruit was pricey!) Lovely spot.
Nice restaurant at a very impressive art museum. The food was artfully presented, and the garden outside is probably more if a feature in the milder seasons. Excellent service. The restaurant itself felt like a cross between a restaurant and a cafeteria, perhaps in part due to the winterized garden.
Delicious food, relaxing and lovely ambiance, convenient, friendly staff.
Food was very good. Nice selection of menu options. Upscale environment.
Interesting food that is well prepared. Nice, varied food selections and excellent wines
I wasn't expecting much more than a fair menu, fair food quality and fair service. After all, I was at a museum and the specialty is art not food. After experiencing the awesome 30 Americans exhibit, it was a great treat to have a satisfying dining experience to go with it. Enjoyed it with my family in from Pittsburgh who are Frick patrons
The frittata was bland - wholly lacked flavor and had a strange consistency to it.
Enjoyed a fantastic lunch with family, service and food were both wonderful.
Surprised that there weren't more people there since reservation times were limited. But service was sluggish and seemed acknowledged by staff since we heard repeatedly "Thank You for your parience"
We were there for brunch and they have a nice variety of options for food (what I didn't notice until I ordered a $15 glass of wine, is that they have unlimited mimosas & bloody's for $19).
We had the avocado toast which felt a little heavy (maybe too much olive oil) and the burger, along with a cocktail & wine.
A perfect place to recharge before going back to look at more art. We were there for brunch - the menu was varied and the food was great plus the service was perfect. The staff went out of the way to make sure our experience was enjoyable. Would highly recommend.
Very nice selection for brunch. Quiet surroundings and delicious food. Excellent service. First time diner and will return.
We love going to a special restaurant after spending a few hours studying art. Two of us had the special which was a southern fried chicken breast sandwich and loved it. I had the mushroom topped with egg sandwich and now found a new lunch idea for cooking at home. They servers were helpful and made sure there was plenty of water.
Visited with an out-of-town guest; after seeing “30 Americans” exhibition, planned to stay for lunch. It was excellent all around!
Always a pleasure to have lunch there. A bit costly but worth it.
Great service. Very attentive young woman. Best potato chips I’ve ever eaten. I’m vegan. Wish there were a few more choices.
Great food, ambience, service and location. Thanks!
Lovely meal with excellent service. My granddaughter needs to eat gluten-free food and the kitchen was very accommodating.
Excellent place for quiet conversation, good lunch, beautiful view, and pleasant service.
This was our second visit over the weekend. Both experiences were excellent. Friendly staff and excellent cuisine!
Great place to dine when you visiting the Barnes Foundation. Good food and relaxing environment.
My friends and I went for brunch on a Saturday before seeing the latest exhibit - 30 Americans. The place was pristine. The staff was so nice. The food was superb. It also doesn't hurt that they have bottomless mimosas for $19. I will definitely be back!
