Perfect romantic dinner date! AMAZING food. We shared the beef Wellington and the crab cake. Sat right by the fireplace.
Staff was very friendly and helpful We were seated on time. Lovely historic ambiance Food was very good and so were the drinks. Will definitely go back.
Wonderful food and ambiance! Will be back for sure.
We went to the General Warren Inn for our anniversary, and were very disappointed with our meal. We ordered the scallops and pasta entree. There was too much pasta which was thick and heavy and overpowered the light sauce. Also, the scallops were pumped with water, not dry as we would expect at a restaurant of this type.
We were there Saturday night with a group of 5. Everything leading up to our actual meal was excellent. We were seated in front of the wood burning fireplace that was actually very nice. Our server and everyone there were very nice and pleasant. The downfall was the food. My son and I ordered the steak and both were burnt on the outside and tasted like smoke. The 3 tiny potatos and stringbeans that came with the steak were ice cold. Another person with us ordered the halibut and was disappointed with their meal. We most likely will not be back.
We recently visited the General Warren with another couple for my husband's birthday. We all enjoyed our choices. We had the table side Ceasar salad (amazing) , the Oysters and Beef Wellington (my husband), and the Halibut for me. Everything was delicious and had special sauces and sides. We've eaten here many times before and each time we have a wonderful meal. We ordered 2 bottles of wine so our bill was quite pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
Perfect restaurant to celebrate our 30th anniversary.
Mushroom soup was wonderful. Crab cake was really good, all crab no filler. Very nice gluten free selection.
As usual, the meal was excellent! There were some friends who hadn't been there before, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The dessert was special as well. We all look forward to going back again soon. Our server was very prompt and courteous. Thank you for a very nice visit!
Restaurant was very crowded and parking was crazy even with valet parkers. Noisy too but the food was good as usual.
The General Warren is a great place to enjoy a warm romantic dinner with that special someone.
Our 29th wedding anniversary. Sat by the fireplace and quite enjoyable. Service was suburb. Food was excellent. Prepared perfectly. “Steaks”. We’ve been there a few times and never disappointed.
Always love General Warren. We had the beef stew special which was good but not the best I've ever had there.
Always excellent service and food
We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back
The menu is not that exciting. My boyfriend’s pork chops were dry. The cosmo I had was excellent.
The Brussels sprouts appetizer was okay, but nothing to rave about. All in all, it’s an over priced restaurant that I wouldn’t bother going back to.
Excellent food and service. Loved it. Will definitely go back!
I love the General Warren
We enjoyed our food a lot but our server did not pay much attention to us. I believe it may have been because we were much younger than most of the other customers and she felt that we would not tip her well because of the stereotype associated with younger customers. She was very tentative to her other customers in our area, just not us. We tipped 20% anyway so hopefully next time we go back that won't happen.
Quite an enjoyable time. We will by back. Loved the fish.
Food was delicious our server was very attentive watched where there was a couple at the restaurant for a party - didn’t care for where they were to be seated and the staff was able to move them to another area without issue even when the restaurant was extremely busy with two weddings, six anniversaries (including ours) along with however many other celebrations going on. Nice touch when we only ordered one dessert which came out with Happy Anniversary written on the plate.
Great atmosphere and food; will return and recommend frequently.
historic atmosphere, good food, good service, very soft and low sound levels, easy to talk.
Great meals and nice historic ambiance. Not quiet but conversation is possible. They have historic lectures periodically.
This was our first time at the General Warren. The service was friendly and prompt. We split an order of petite crab cakes, which were perfect. Full of crab meat and not too spicy. Our dinners were good, but the sauce with the scallops was too heavy for the dish and overpowered the taste of the scallops, which were done quite well.
Great food, a little over-priced, but awesome atmosphere and excellent service!
Outstanding as always whether seated in dining room or bar!
Everything was fantastic! I took my wife here for our sixth anniversary. The food was amazing. The only gripe I had was that my steak was over cooked, but the quality of the appetizers, drinks, and dessert more than made up for it. Service was spot on and very friendly. The table-side bananas foster flambe was a sight to behold and delicious! We will definitely be returning!
Always a treat!
Wonderful service and delicious food. Don’t miss the Caesar salad prepared table side.
One of my friends from Vanguard recommended this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised how nice this restaurant was and the food , ambiance and service exceeded our expectations. Look forward to coming back.
The atmosphere is peaceful. The staff is so welcoming and attentive. I love everything but the table side Caesar salad and banana foster dessert are so yummy.
Beautiful tavern but food was just ok. My husband and I shared several small plates, he got the snapper soup and I got the potato chowder (quality was about the same as canned potato soup). The lobster fondue was terribly salty and the cheese was almost like a cheese whiz consistency and quality. Brussels Sprouts and Bananas Foster were good. Ice cream for the dessert was obviously too frozen because it couldn’t be scooped out. Instead we had little chiseled chunks of ice cream on the plate. Overall I thought it was overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. Service was very good though. Our water was constantly being topped off.
Unfortunately the food is not as good as it used to be. We got this strange rice that was dyed green. The shrimp appetizer had a sauce that was tasteless. The food was also lukewarm. The food was much better previously.
our meal was good, service was little slow but good. there was a noise lady that dampened the meal a bit
all on all the meal was good. we will do this again. we were out with friends saturday night and they want to try the restaurant in November. thank you Jeff
Perfect Filet. Awesome Scallops. Nice drinks. Had a birthday Pak coupon that gave us $25 off. Would come again without the coupon.
Excellent selection and a lot of varied dishes. Service was outstanding and food was delicious. Arrived early which may have made a difference with service. Been before, and will definitely go back. Earlier seating is a good move. Leaves the rest the of the evening/night open.
Nice time we had. Our service team was excellent. 10 parents and seven young men enjoyed a very fine meal.
I would tell anyone with some money to burn to go to General Warren. It was great - but expensive. I might suggest to the restaurant to put an idea of appropriate dress on their page. Most of the people there were dressed very nicely but then we saw another couple come in with flip-flops and a hot pink shirt that said "This shirt makes me look good". Not trying to be snobby - but I rarely get to such a nice place and the other sloppy patron kinda brought it down a notch.
Fantastic servers and food - always a great experience!!
