    The food was delicious & presented beautifully. There were so many great choices. The crab quiche, cream of crab soup were outstanding. My party really enjoyed “mom-mom’s lemonade”! It is a lovely & festive setting, even on a rainy day!!

    Excellent - as usual! How can you ever go wrong with Gertrude's?! There's something to appeal to everyone's taste. The noise level was minimal, since it wasn't busy on the Sunday early evening when we were there (not surprisingly). Love it - will be back!

    Waiter was excellent but over worked. Clearly to many tables. 2 orders of Steak Frites. Steak tasteless, over cooked (ordered m rare) frites warm at best. Fried oysters delicious. We are regulars and will be back. Just a bad night for the staff. Hostess, clueless.

    I managed there for many years, and from inside out, all I can say are good things. The ethically (when possible) sourced foods, the well-meaning staff, the smoothness of operation - there was not a glitch during the entire experience, and we were lucky enough to enjoy nice weather sitting in the sculpture garden.

    Always reliably good, with nice daily selections added to an already good menu. My only complaint is that it can be a bit loud when it is full. Some of the tables are wider than average, making it harder to hear someone across from you over the din.

    No complaints everything was nice. I noticed the sign on the gate and the website says the sculpture garden is open until dusk but it was locked and we were told it closes at 5pm. Just curious

    My husband and I went for Lobstermania, a special lobster dinner that is held annually on Thurdays in August. We sat outside near the fountains. Our server was very attentive, professional and congenial given how busy the restaurant was. Our food was outstanding. Highly recommend for outside dining with a quiet, romantic ambience serving delicious food!

    We had a delightful time at Gertrude's! The outdoor seating beside the Baltimore Museum of Art's sculpture garden and burbling fountain pool creates a restful ambiance for a lazy summer evening, and the food was delicious. There were so many intriguing options on the menu that we had a hard time choosing, but I was very happy with my selection, the apricot-glazed salmon with udon noodles and spinach. The udon noodle sauce might just be addicting, and the portion was large enough that I could take a sizeable leftover home for lunch the next day. Service was attentive and thoughtful. Overall an excellent dining experience.

    Service and food was great! The salmon with apricot glaze was yummy, as as the crab cake appetizer. Managed to get a table outside under the tent near the fountain and the ambiance was lovely. Will definitely be coming back!

    The cream of crab soup had lots of shells in it. No crackers nor bread was offered and when asked for we received a very small piece of facacia bread. The bbq fries were overly sweet and the crab quiche was burnt on the bottom. And to top it off, they sat us by the A/C vent when the restaurant was not even 1/4 full. It was way over priced for a sad meal.

    Wonderful oysters, seafood salad, hake and salmon. Three of us ordered the specials that were exceptional. And our waiter Nate was perfect. We hadn’t seen each other in a while and were very slow ordering. He was patient and his timing was perfect. It’s one of the best dining experiences in Baltimore.

    We were very disappointed in the food last night. We used to go to Gertrudes for special occasions pre-pandemic and were always blown away by the variety and quality of the menu items. While I understand that post-pandemic many restaurants have had to downsize their menus, it was the quality of the food that was the most disappointing. The cantelope gazpacho was delicious and refreshing, but the rockfish fingers somehow managed to be both dry (inside) and mushy (outside.) The hake was terrible (also dry inside with a mushy breaded crust) and the garlic mashed potatoes were so salty as to be inedible. I remembered the slaw being delicious on previous occasions, but the one I got last night was uninspiring and largely tasteless. The zuchettes were mushy and unappealing. The noodles were ok. The upside down peach cake was also nothing special and hardly had any peaches. Unfortunately, with so many other great restaurants in Baltimore, I do not think we will rush to return, although the ambience can't be beat. I wish better for this Baltimore institution.
