   Pizza was flavorless and disappointing, pasta was well cooked but sauce was watery, meatballs were dense and heavy. Disappointing food and service left a lot to be desired. Too bad, menu looked good and the space is lovely, but they most important elements fell really flat.

   The food was good and it’s a cute spot. We had an issue with service and timing of food. We did the pasta tasting - a three course set meal. Our first course (salad) did not come until half an hour after our order was placed. The second course came 20-30 minutes after finishing the first, and the third 20-30 minutes after finishing the second. We were not expecting to sit for 2 hours for a 3 course meal, and it would have been fine if that was communicated to us. On top of that, our beverages (water/alcohol) were never once re-filled. The salad and pastas were good; although, they were not worth the wait time or the lack of hydration.

   If everything was as good as the pasta it was a 5 star. Possibly best pasta I’ve had in Seattle. I make pasta at home every week so it’s been a struggle finding great pasta in this city

    Service was atrocious. Had to repeatedly ask for Dessert and was being asked if service was complete. Taste checks were always done upon taking a bite, and stood around for a while to hear an answer. Had to gesture them off.

    From the bright, lively attitude to the friendly service. We had the best dinner! We had the Rigatoni with Burrata, Radiatore Pasta with beef cheek and Calabrian chili, plus Focaccia garlic bread. The pasta was A+ the right amount of spice and creaminess. Bread garlicky and crisp with butter. Topped it off with a balanced Tiramisu. Sooo good you need to try this place!

    I needed a last minute reservation for 10 people in Eastlake and I’m so happy I found Haymaker! We were very happy with the food (especially the appetizers) and service. We will be back in the future for other business/team meals.

    Really disappointed in our experience at this restaurant. Ordering from a QR code is a bummer at what seemed like a nicer restaurant. Service was odd - multiple people checked on us but didn’t seem to know what was going on. We were asked multiple times to give our menus back when we hadn’t ordered entrees yet. Appetizers came out before our drinks and one of the drinks ordered was a bottle of wine - should have been easy enough to quickly bring out. The dishes were fine, some better than others. Most needed salt, which was not on the table. At the end of the meal, we were enjoying chatting at our table and the host made a rude remark about how we had closed out - we felt like he was asking us to leave even though the table wasn’t needed. Won’t be going back nor recommending to anyone.

    Service was not great. First, they make you use the phone to order and bring everything. so, there was no interaction of questions about the menu or recommendations of drinks at all. the spaghetti was RAW and we try to not complain, we seriously hate sending stuff back, but it was uneatable, so we brave ourselves and ask to be more cooked. Second time was better. The schedule at the door says they close at 10 but we were kick out at 9:30 with lights on and "closing time" song so loud we could not hear us, even less the waitress from across the room yelling at us to pay for the check on the table but we already did that on the phone when she put the check on the table 30 minutes before. Definitely not going back, there are better places out there.

    We usually love this place. There’s a new system where you order drinks and food by bar code, so there’s zero service. A server will put your ordered food on the table but not even pick up empty plates/drinks throughout the meal. Then you pay via scan code too. Not once did anyone ask if we needed anything or how we were. It’s now like a cafeteria.

    What a treat! This quiet, unassuming little spot just off of Eastlake is a pleasant surprise. The food was great. Our server was fantastic. We were lucky that it wasn't all that busy and we were there for four hours just enjoying great food and conversation - we weren't rushed out. Go. Enjoy this spot! You won't regret it!

    Apps and drinks took forever. Almost as if they had to wait for water to turn to ice cubes and the ingredients had to be purchased from the store or something. 35 mins! The mains were extremely salty — steak and greens.

    Bench seating near the door was cold to the touch upon sitting. Drafty. Salad was full of sediment. Ahi poke was very fresh, tasty, but the sauce was heavy and unbalanced. Chicken skewers were burnt and dry; sauced served on a plate instead of a dish to ladle and share. The sauce had so spread it couldn't be picked up. Scallops were served cold with warmish potato/cauliflower. Coke was delivered toward end of meal after most food had been consumed. Espresso was poorly made (who EVER gets a poorly made espresso?! how possible?)--it was dark, not hot, and clear like coffee. Not at all how Food & Wine would describe: "Crema is one of the most prized components of a well-made espresso. Caramel-colored and creamy in texture, the foamy puff is created when hot water emulsifies coffee bean oils and floats atop the espresso with smooth little bubbles." Nope! Server was lovely but poor staffing level and exquisite amount of attention to the center 6-top drew away from basics like keeping courses going and removing dirty dishes--this in a restaurant that encourages sharing and many courses. Had been in three weeks prior and ironically had sat at that special center table and had great service (though not all food was hot nor was my slightly better espresso then). Newsflash: One 6-top table doesn't make your business. Server had advised us at start to order clearly because of that table, and we did. Shocking having worked with 12-tops and such in fine dining. So many things that could have been better.

    It is rare that I rate a restaurant less than 5 stars, and I don’t think that I’ve ever rated a restaurant less than 4 stars. However, the food and service at Haymaker this evening were abysmal. I’ve eaten there many times before, with uniformly good experience; this dinner was awful. Terrible food with slow and erratic service.

    Haymaker in the Eastlake neighborhood has been a favorite since it opened under the name LeMesse. Spatially, the restaurant is interesting in its location and configuration. The food is innovative as always with new dishes and old favorites. One has been the excellent beef tartar which unfortunately has been removed from the current menu. Hopefully it will reappear in the near future. Last evenings server was beyond exceptional. She was not only knowledgeable about the menu, but had a natural charm. A comfortable personality and was a true delight to be served by. Thank you.

    Great menu preparations for Seattle Restaurant week. Seafood brodetto was delicious with the addition of the halibut. Ahi appetizer flavors were amazing, however, it could have been a bit more generous on the portion size. I would have appreciated refills on my water glass throughout the meal.     We had a good dinner for Seattle Restaurant Week. The chefs were flexible and kindly swapped one dish for delicious roasted Brussels sprouts due to dietary restrictions. As other folks noted in their reviews, the pasta were too salty. We thought the SRW menu at $35 was a great deal. We were full when we left.

    We were at Haymakers during restaurant week which had a fixed menu with choice for a main and dessert. The food was delicious but they may have been short staffed as the bar service was very slow and our server seemed stressed and unable to keep up. It was incredibly loud too. Hard to talk.

    I'm a fairly regular customer at Haymaker usually the food is great but I was disappointed with the restaurant week menu last evening and would consider it a one off for the restaurant. The kitchen was understaffed had to wait a long time for the entree. I had the Seafood Brodetto it was a very small portion. I do not have a big appetite but even for me I thought it more like an appetizer; two mussels, two prawns and a very small piece of white fish. I definitely would not recommend it.

    Lovely little restaurant with meat and seafood options, served as small dishes meant for sharing. We sat two at the counter, and love being able to watch the high energy of the kitchen and team as they prepare the restaurant's meals. We chose the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings and was also able to communicate our preferences as pescatarians. The restaurant went out of their way to ensure a wonderful meal!     We stopped by Haymaker Eastlake for a birthday dinner. We had originally wanted to try the salmon, as it was recommended to us. We called ahead when we saw that salmon had been swapped out for the evening's menu, and the staff was great about making sure that we could still get an order made for the occasion. The salmon was quite good. The standout dish, however, was the house made pasta. Fantastic, and perfectly cooked. The restaurant had a great vibe, cool lighting, and good music. We found the staff really friendly and responsive.

    The “tasting menu” is really more like a prix fixe feast. The food is inventive and exquisite, and for 2 people the amount of food is tremendous and the value is exceptional! No problem accommodating dietary preferences or restrictions. We asked for a pescatarian tasting menu 2 weeks in a row and there was not a single duplicated dish.

    We were a party of 4 and celebrating a birthday. Two of us arrived early and asked the hostess to let our server know who the birthday girl was and to add a candle to the dessert. We all sat, server came by and we ordered a round of drinks. We then ordered our dinner and we were going to share 3 dishes (steak, fish and a pasta). We were told they were out of steak. So we went with the pork chop. After that, we had to flag down the server who did laps around the restaurant but failed to serve. Had to ask for more drinks. Our pork and fish arrived and asked about the pasta, he said it would be out. 20 minutes later we asked again and then the cook comes out to apologize about the mix up. Still not sure what the mix up was. The Pork chop tasted like teriyaki sauce. Then dishes got stacked. No offer of dessert. I felt so bad for my sister cause of such an awful dinner experience. We have been to the West Seattle location which was excellent so was surprised by the vast difference..

    Hopefully it was a bad night for the restaurant. We waited 15+ minutes before anyone had checked on us. It was over an hour and fifteen minutes before our appetizer arrived. It went down from there.
