I would have rated higher but it took some time to be acknowledged by the server. Afterwards it was nice serves. Food was good and flavorful.

There were four of us on the outside patio; which was surrounded by heaters! This made the evening comfortable. We had a variety of dishes which included Bolognese, Chicken piccata, meatballs with polenta, cauliflower Alfredo and warm tomato bruschetta to name a few. Everything with delicious. We will be returning.

Really nice ambience in the restaurant and outdoor seating, lovely music playing. They might have been understaffed, but several different servers helped us out, so that shows good teamwork. The pizza was delicious, salad amazing, cauliflower alfredo super yummy and we all (party of 4) enjoyed everything. Will definitely go back soon!

First time I have tried this place - it had a nice ambiance with plenty of seating outside and inside with doors open so it felt safe. Food was fine and service was just ok. We felt rushed through our courses, but then it took a long time to get our bill. It may be in growing stages, so will probably wait a bit before I try again.

The food was good! But the shrimp with risoto had 3 shrimps! Kinda of risotto with shrimp. But it was good.

From arrival to departure, everything was perfect ! First time here, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Kate did a wonderful job of keeping us hydrated and was on top of all hospitality services. The Kitchen's output was top notch ! We will definitely return !

The food was delicious. We had the artichoke, wedge salad and carbonara. Our bartender was Brice. We received excellent service and enjoyed our time.

Great addition to Bressi Ranch

Amazing appetizers, bruschetta and roasted artichoke. Original takes on Italian classics but dishes tended to have an overabundance of cheese. Also, minestrone soup was tasty and chock-full of fresh veggies but also thick like chili. Fresh bread was warm, soft and very tasty. Clean and safe atmosphere, both indoors and outside on their large patio, great music on the sound system, very good service. Overall 4+ stars.

It was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was good and so was the food, starting with a nice fresh loaf of bread.

There were three of us and we all had different entrees. This is my second time to eat here and enjoyed the whole experience. Love their spaghetti and meatballs.

While service was standard, and I won’t fault them for the bright (Almost fluorescent) lighting on their patio- since we’re in a compromised situation with indoor seating, the food was really surprisingly below average. We ordered chicken piccata, and the pasta came unseasoned in one huge congealed lump. We stuck a fork into the pasta and could lift the entire pasta portion up on the single fork. There were maybe 5 capers in the dish and zero lemon flavor or any sign of lemon on the dish. For reference, the main ingredients for flavoring a standard chicken piccata are butter, lemon, and capers. Also the bread is not at all impressive. We ordered their three cheese garlic bread, and I was shocked at how basic it was! No fresh garlic- just garlic powder and what tasted like basic mozzarella cheese melted on top. Like, maybe what a college kid would make with what he had in his fridge after a night out. It also wasn’t on anything reminiscent of Italian bread, or any type of premium bread you’d expect at a restaurant of this level. It was a soft little oval loaf, similar to a roll you’d expect with your meal on an airplane. I believe you can always tell the quality of a restaurant by the bread. Was really hoping for a nice Italian restaurant option beyond Vigilucci’s in Carlsbad, disappointed that this is not it.

Service was not good. We waited a long time before we were even greeted and brought water. The waitress told us it was a busy night.
Food was okay but the service was terrible.

Our server was absolutely outstanding!!! Very considerate and helpful. We sat on the patio on a VERY hot day and yet there was a breeze and it was comfortable except for an onslaught of flies!!! We had to request extra napkins to cover our good as they were relentless. Can anything be done?

Food was very disappointing. Sat on the back patio which was very nice. Ordered the cheesy garlic bread which was very dense bread just loaded with cheese. Also had the meatball appetizer. The meatballs were good but they were loaded with so much cheese, and on top of the polenta was just too much. Limited menu which might be due to Covid.

Honestly, we were sadly very disappointed. The building/venue is lovely. But the food and the service do not match the build out.
The service was horrendous. Our server was not well educated on the menu at all. She took our order and then disappeared for pretty much the rest of the entire time. We had to ask another server for a refill of wine because our server was completely unavailable. Seems like this restaurant lacks structure and training of their wait staff. The server was not familiar on what beverages they had available. And when they came to drop the food off, they had no clue who ordered what. It was like “OK raise your hand if you ordered the spaghetti.”
When we were sitting there waiting to pay, we had to waive someone down to get someone’s attention to take our card.
They need a professional restaurant consultant to come in and clean up the service and procedures.
The bussers however are great and are the most professional.

Now for the food:
The chilled burrata and the artichoke were great!
And the bread they serve is great. Though not enough butter.
We were given enough for only half the amount of bread served.
Broccolini was terrible. I cannot recommend that at all. None of us liked that. And we normally all love broccolini!
The chicken Parmesan was horrible. The pasta it came with was so overcooked, it dissolved in your mouth. It was disgusting. And the breading on the chicken was awful. And the chicken was tough. That dish should be removed from the menu completely.
Lasagna was OK.
Spaghetti and meatballs were bad. Pasta was tough and meatballs were dry.

We will not return. Just too many disappointments here.

Great waiter. Nice conversation talking about Italian culinary. Knowledgable.
No one gets a 5 because there is always room for improvement. I will return to Giaola Italian Kitchen soon with friends and family.

Very good food, good value, good service. Definitely worth a revisit

I enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. The service was slow and it took well over an hour for our food. The food wasn’t to my parties liking. Many said it tasted nothing better then microwaved food.

Risotto shrimp had excellent shrimp but risotto was soupy yet had a good taste but not classic style Italian risotto so it was more like a thick stew. The menu appeared somewhat limited in choices so the risotto shrimp appeared best choice. I like a menu where it is hard to choose between options. Other guest had lasagna which she said was good but not raving about how outstanding it was. Service was excellent and outside facilities were nice. The sign up for reservations was outstanding. Hopefully the menu was a limited one due to covid19 restrictions on outside only so maybe less items than usual. Until I try it again, I'm not likely to recommend and it might be hard to get my wife to go back again.

What a pleasant surprise! The service, the tasty food, and the attention to healthy details — all wonderful! At the table we tried the warm salad (yum!) a pizza (friends said it was very good) and I had the pasta with porchetta, English peas, and I added mushrooms with a marinara sauce. Mmmmmmm. Can hardly wait to go back! Thank you Jen!
