We love the food there and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. My mother uses a wheelchair and the restaurant is very accessible. Definitely highly recommend.
We had a lovely dinner at Gibraltar Saturday night. The food was wonderful and everything was great. Definitely will go back and recommend.
What a wonderful night. From top to bottom Gibraltar Lancaster is fast becoming our favorite place. Love the style of the restaurant. The menu is diverse and everything is wonderfully prepared. Our service from Graham and his trainee was TOP notch. Our party of six had one bottle of wine, probably four apps, various mixed drinks and three or four shared deserts for less than 100 per person.
We love this place and its well worth the 30 min drive to get there.
Amazing food. Great service. I had the filet mignon it tasted great.
Old favorite always great food and service. Easy access and parking.
A day of glum turned into a day of fine hospitality by our waiter Graham. He is highly knowledgeable in delectable cuisine and has such a pleasant demeanour!
As I’ve always said, my experience with the food at Gibraltar never disappoints!
For starters we sampled the bluepoint and stellar bay oysters which by the way, tasted not only refreshingly delightful but there wasn’t even a single grain of sand or a missed piece of shell! How do you beat that level of detail!?
The Caesar salad with anchovies has always been an easy go-to. This time, we opted to top it of with grilled shrimp and the crunch of the fresh, crisp romaine told me my salad wasn’t pre-made and refrigerated.
Followed shortly for our main course was the Local Angus New York Strip with spinach, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. You could tell from the taste of the meat that it came from antibiotic-free raised cattle.
The other serving was the Seared sea scallops complimented nicely by carefully layered potatoes cooked to perfection (Crisp Pomme Anna) and sautéed spinach as well.
Let me say, that I needed not a dash of salt or pepper throughout the course of dinner. The dishes were very well seasoned to my taste and my buds were very content!
We were waited on hand and foot with occasional check-ins from Graham to make sure our experience was progressing nicely.
In an effort to get back home in a timely manner, we ordered the cheesecake to go. Let me tell you this: I had thought that I’d write this review at my convenience. I was wrong. I absolutely hate cheesecake! My husband wanted it so I simply went along with his choice. Now I’m sitting here halfway through this dessert without wanting to share and I am not sorry. I have obviously not tried Gibraltar’s cheesecake! Now, I am in love!
Overall, a win with this trip. The owner as always pays attention to his customers and knows his craft. As a transplant to the area, this is at the top of the list of eateries I’ll happily dine at for a long time.
Our waiter was fine. Whoever poured water for us when we sat down spilled it when pouring, never cleaned it up or mentioned it. The food was ok. I had the crab/mozarella omelet. At least I think it had crab in it. The cheese was kind of one giant wad. My wife had a salad with apple slices. There were maybe three 1/4" slices. It was as though they had one apple left and were trying to make it last for the entire seating. I've eaten dinner there before and would go back for that again. I'll skip brunch, though.
Absolutely amazing dinner experience. We drive over an hour each way and it is worth it every time. Oysters were to die for... scallops and lobster linguine could not have been better. Wine list is great with good price points. Manager Sal was was very kind to us and ended our dinner with a special treat that was much appreciated.
Another incredible dinner at Gibraltar!! The food continues to be creative and excellent, delicious handcrafted cocktails and an amazing wine list! The servers are always knowledgeable and friendly. Gibraltar is our favorite restaurant!
The service was excellent! The food was beautifully cooked.
We had brunch. Both ordered omelet breakfast, which was good. Server was very attentive and helpful. Would recommend Gibraltar to others.
Very good food and drinks and service
First class dining, lovely atmosphere. Not a lot of options if you are pinching pennies. But it is simply the finest in Lancaster for fine dining. Excellent service always.
Kitchen service was very slow. We had a 6:45 reservation and didn't finish dinner until around 9:30. It took a long time to get dinner served. Our waiter was on task so we assume the kitchen was behind. Food was well prepared.
We had very high expectations when visiting Gibraltar in Lancaster. The greeting and service was friendly. The bread was definitely lacking. I had the salmon dinner, and it melted in my mouth. My husband had the lobster pasta, and was very disappointed. The lobster was so tough that he had a hard time cutting it with his knife. The atmosphere is cold and not very welcoming. I doubt that we will return.
I go to Gibraltar’s quite often and bring a mat many ladies lunch to the location. This past time unfortunately our server was literally out to lunch, we had to constantly ask for water and we were given our bill three times before I asked if we were finished. Very disappointing for the price of the food and drink
celebrating wife's birthday, every one was very pleased, thanks
Delicious as always- a little disappointed that the special was sold out by our 630 reservation. Will definitely return
This was our first visit for brunch and it was very nice. The assortment of small pastries on the table was nice. It did take quite a bit of time to receive our food, but once it arrived it was very tasty. I still think though that they have an issue with freshness of their seafood. The crab in my husband's omelet was very "fishy" smelling and tasting. He didn't become ill from it, but for a "seafood" restaurant, this is the second time we've had seafood that was not really fresh. Opt for something else unless it's the "special" fish of the day, that's always good.
The food was very good, as always. The service was slightly intrusive and unsophisticated, but this did not detract much from the experience. Gibraltar's fish dishes are always excellent.
The service from Heather was wonderful. We loved all of our food and have no complaints.
Each time we visit Gibraltar,we always have a wonderful meal. The food is fantastic. The service is top notch. You know you are always going to have a great meal.
We were happy with the menu choices and the Food we selected was delicious. Staff was attentive. Nice atmosphere. They handed out roses to each of the women for Valentine’s Day, which was a nice touch!
The prices are high but the food is always excellent. I haven’t had a bad meal there yet.
Valentine’s Day dinner. Wonderful food, competent and friendly staff, great place for a meal. And they were giving roses out to the women as we left-a very thoughtful gesture!!
Everything was perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and quick! Delicious! So glad we made reservations for Valentine's Day!
I’ve enjoyed Gibraltar in the past because they always have good fresh food. This time, the host/ server who greeted, seated and served us was unfriendly and I honestly wasn’t even bothered to find out what his name was.
I tired to make small talk with him and he seemed disinterested and unamused. His interactions seemed forced so it ruined the whole lunch experience for me. Other than that, I’ll always find myself back there because the menu is outstanding, fair prices and the owner is very nice.
As we walked in we weren't greeted until the hostess finished laughing and interacting with another worker. We were taken to our brown seats at a brown table which is on a brown floor in a room with brown walls and room dividers. You get the drift. Tables had no place mats or tablecloths so it made it very easy for the hostess, upon her return, to literally aim and slide a basket of rather stale pastries our way. Upon looking at the brunch menu, I was very surprised at the prices. Even more so when my Mushroom Omelette arrived with two or three mushrooms, cheese (which did not taste like the brie it was supposed to be) oozing out the side with a few straggly leaves of greens scattered on top, all about the size of a six inch tortilla folded in half. My friend who ordered hot tea had to ask once for creamer and a second time for sweetener. It seemed a stretch for our inattentive server. I left knowing that I had overpaid for my meal, the service and the non-existent ambience.
Very nice place to eat for date night or meeting friends at the bar.
Family birthday dinner for my wife. Food and service were terrific. They recognized that it was a birthday dinner and brought out an extra treat. Never had a less than great experience at Gibraltar
Good wine, service and food!
Gibraltar is always a delightful dining experience from the moment you are greeted by their friendly staff, being served by Tyler at the bar and Graham or Micheal in the dining room. The food is always consistently delicious, the oysters are always fresh and tasty and the atmosphere perfect! The owners have such a great attention to detail!
Perfect date night to celebrate birthdays!
Service is always top notch. The food is unique and well prepared.
gibraltar is an overpriced, under decorated "eh" of a restaurant. the owner parked his car in the handicap space outside (but did not have a handicap tag) the waitress would come ask us if we liked our drinks/food the moment they arrived and before we tried them. the food was pretty good, except both my husband's main dish and mine were dripping in butter. a place that sells steak for over $40 shouldn't have fake plastic plants. if you do go, get the tuna tartar, it's pretty good
Always enjoy our visits here!
Everything was fine except for our server, Michael. He was rude and seemed to be upset at something. Unfortunately it seems he took out his anger on our table. It culminated in him dropping off the check at the end of the night without him saying a word or even making eye contact with anyone in our party. When he dropped off a check to a nearby table, he thanked them and wished them a nice evening. It was very bizarre. Sadly I don't think we will be coming back after this incident.
The food was excellent Compliments to the Chef. Sitting in the wine room was too cold and too noisy ( music techno way to loud for a date night ) dinner otherwise everything else was excellent... The sea bass should be permanently on the menu along with the green fried tomatoes
Excellent food. Excellent place
Lit pricey. Best ceasar salad ever.
Place was cold though. Takes away from your dinner ...
