We had a great waiter and the food was good. Would good back again.
Overall the meal was good. The calamari was delicious. They didn't seem to have enough servers for the crowd, so service was a bit slow. Good variety on the menu.
We made reservations for NYE, which was presumed to be off the menu, no mention of buffet on website, fb page and when I made reservations. When we got there we were told it’s either $125 or $55 for buffet package, no ordering off menu. At that point it was too late to change because it was nye and everyone else was booked. So we paid a crapload of money for so so buffet food. I’m pregnant so I couldn’t even enjoy the champagne that was included. Totally let down with how it was handled and will not be going back.
I made a reservation for 3:30pm on New Year's Eve for a high top table for a few girlfriends to get together before NYE. When I arrive (a bit early) they sat me in a booth in a far back corner behind where the DJ was setting up (and testing equipment) for the party later that night. There were ZERO other people in the restaurant. I asked why I was placed there and they said they were trying to keep things arranged for the party that night...that started more than two hours later. Obviously the management does not know how to schedule or plan. If I would not have been meeting other people, I would have left. When we sat down, we were given 5 minutes to order because "the kitchen was closing down normal menu" to start working on the NYE buffet. Seriously? Then don't accept reservations for that time period. We did have a great server, Hannah, who salvaged what she could of the afternoon for us. But sadly, none of the girls in my group were impressed with the location and we won't be back. The restaurant smelled strongly of unpleasant cleaning supplies and with the disorganization and lack of ability to get anything decent from the kitchen, it wasn't a place I would ever make an effort to get back to.

Dining room was surprisingly light but the restaurant was busy with private parties. Menu is ok, needs a couple of other steak choices. Soup is very good.
Usually a great experiences. Put us by the door by ourselves and cold draft the entire time. My sandwiches over done. My boyfriend was brought the wrong beer.
Seemed to be more interest in the Xmas party going on than regular diners.
No refills on drink or water. Grilled cheese not fully melted and practically not grilled one side. Corn side dish served lukewarm. Burger good but had wrong toppings. Donuts desert had good donut good raspberry sauce really bad chocolate and carmel. Great atmosphere but won’t be in business long if service and food does not improve. No manager to address concerns!
We went for the brunch it was delicious. They were very accommodating and very helpful. My grandson has A special food allergy and they were very helpful getting him food he could eat. The only thing that was off was the brunch had two or three items listed on the website and they were not on the brunch table.
It was unseasonably cold but it was freezing in the restaurant. We literally had to wear coats during dinner.
Really yummy-definitely not a place to count calories but Sunday isn’t a time to count calories so it all works out. Great service.
We went for the Sauerbraten for October fest. One of the best we've had. Service was very good. Wasn't too crazy for the atmosphere with all the TVs but we will be back for the food.
The salmon was very dry the flatbread was very soggy and the enchilada lasagna was burnt great bar horrible place to have dinner at least on this night.
the routine was really good. the pork roast was tender and the gravy was really good.
had the half broiled chicken with herbs that was good. the veggies were good and the garlic mashed potatoes was good. my wife had the pork belly crisp with elotes she actually finished the whole thing. The only downside it had onions and green onions on top. My wife hates onions. But she was able to pick them off. Too bad the cake was not good to serve we really wanted to try it. But we had the berries with ice cream on the house and it was good and fresh.
Wasnt impressed, wouldn't go back. Waitress was sweet and smiling, but service was slow. Manager stopped by at one point and asked how everything was but didn't give us a chance to say even 1 word before saying "great" and continuing on his way. Soups and salads came out with main course instead of before meal, and one of soups was missing. Then, the clam chowder was bland and had no seasoning. Waitress offered to take it off and said another table had complained. Then they brought us free warm donuts as an apology. Fine. Mediocre service and mediocre food. Nothing that would draw me back voluntarily.
We will definitely return! Fresh and good tasting food. Loved the fish sandwich and fish tacos.

My experience was very neutral, waiter took forever to come and get my order, food was cold but it had good flavor, portions where normal and a little bit overpriced

I really wanted to like Gifford’s. We walked in and the surroundings were great. We decided to sit on the patio because it was a nice evening and there were few diners. Our server didn’t arrive for several minutes. No greeting, just asking what we would like to drink. That’s as he placed the beer menu on the table. We both ordered dishes featuring the pot roast - in a risotto and a grilled cheese. My first bite of the grilled cheese was okay but I couldn’t taste the cheese and the dish was just barely warm, not just off the grill. My husband’s risotto wasn’t very warm either. The biggest problem with the meal, however, was the pot roast. It was hard and dry, as if it had been reheated too many times. The best part of the meal was the seasoned fries. We didn’t complain because no one came to check on us or ask how the meal was. The server then brought our check, never asking if we wanted dessert. I’ve heard the food and service for private parties is very good; it’s unfortunate they don’t extend that to their restaurant.
We made a 7pm reservation, arrived about 10 minutes early. We were sat at 715, there was at least 5 open tables all night. Hostess wouldn’t get off her cell phone long enough to smile or make eye contact. Greeted after 15 minutes of sitting by a waitress , placed an order. Then greeted by another waitress to attempt to place our order again. Food took exceptionally long, which was odd because there was only a few tables in the restaurant and most had already eaten. Manager was visibly yelling at waitstaff, clearly an off night.
Food was good, service was terrible. We were there for an hour by the time our appetizer came. Our dinner took an additional 40 minutes.
Everything we ordered was delicious. Except was disappointed that they were out of tater tots. We'll have to go back and try again. Really wanted the fully loaded. The pretzel was good though.
Service took way too long, even just to get a round of water, and the restaurant was not full. The patio was beautiful, and the food was pretty good... try the loaded tater tots!

This was a last minute reservation as we were just visiting the area, no issues getting an immediate table. Great friendly service, good cocktails, and average bar food. Wouldn't make a special trip out of our way to eat here again but would try it again if we were actually in the area.
Our waiter, Nathan was really good. Very friendly and we had a good time with him.
Our second visit, entertainment both times, great! Love the varied menu, tho the salmon was so good he had it again. Short ribs with risotto--unusual but terrific. Enchilada lasagna and shrimp great. Would still find numerous new choices next time -- I mean where do you find poutine in our neck of the woods?Only drawback (reason for the 4-stars) was the mason jar banana cream pie was all gone -- need to have more on hand! And a big shout-out to our server Ella -- lucky enough to have her both times -- made our dinner even more enjoyable. Appreciate on-line reservations as well -- super all-around experience.
We loved Gifford's kitchen. Unique menu with very delicious options. The portions are huge, but the price is very reasonable. The restaurant was busy, but the noise level wasn't bad at all. Most of our food came quickly, but there was a slight delay with dessert. The waitress immediately offered us complementary coffee because of the delay. We are already planning to come back and try more menu items!
Part of what makes a restaurant great is how mistakes are handled. Every restaurant has mistakes, but Gifford's makes the customer experience a priority. We had ordered an item that had undergone some changes on the menu and there were some growing pains. And it was Father's Day, so yes, sometimes things just happen in restaurants on holidays. I get it. However the chef and manager were open, receptive to feedback, friendly and all about making great food and offering a great experience. The service was wonderful and the whole team makes you feel welcome and genuinely cares about your experience. Oh and be sure to order one of the tower manhattans. Worth it

The ribeye was ordered med well but was very pink more like medium or medium rare. Otherwise food was very good. Service was great. Noise level seemed a little loud. Overall was fine.
Absolutely awful first and last experience. Took more than 10 minutes for server to even come over and then no apology for the delay. My wife wanted to have the enchilada lasagna but only if she could have it with chicken instead of ground beef. The waitress checked and that couldn't be done so she ordered a salad with chicken added to it. The waitress never mentioned what the charge for adding chicken would be. Turned out to be $6 for a small bit of chicken added to an $11 salad! I ordered ribs that was listed as coming with fries. I also clearly said, "I'd like to add a side caesar salad." I thought it was pretty commonly known that when someone wants to add a salad to their meal, they want the salad BEFORE their meal. The waitress, who we never saw again until she brought our food, then brought me my salad INSTEAD OF MY FRIES with my ribs. I told her I expected my salad before the meal and I no longer wanted it. I asked her about the fries and she said, "you said you wanted the salad instead." I said, "No, I wanted the salad beforehand in addition." At that point I was so irritated I didn't even want the fries or the salad. In the meantime, my wife's salad was terrible and she wasn't even wanting to send it back to get something else because, at that point, we didn't have time to wait as we had a movie to get to. I ate my ribs, which were good taste-wise but did not "fall off the bone" as described and had to be separated with a knife. The waitress made no apologies for anything even though she could see we were annoyed, never credited me for the side I didn't eat, and generally couldn't care less about our satisfaction or lack thereof. That was our first and definitely last trip to Gifford's.
Wait staff was slow and took forever to come to the table; there was only 3 tables full when we had reservations. The wrong food came to the table and the waitress blamed me for it. By the time the correct food came, everyone at my table was already done; it took about 30 minutes for them to fix their mistake. I will not be going back.
Food was fair. Lots of the buffet dishes were cold. They never cleared any plates until the very end. Way over priced for what we received.
We went for the Mother's Day brunch. The food was good. Everyone was happy. I think they could have made Mother's Day look a little bit fancier/nicer. Maybe some white table clothes and appropriate formal settings. It would have been a small touch that would have gone a long way. I also think you will attract more business for next year and the following years with this small touch.
$40 for Mother’s Day brunch and they charged us for coffee and juice. The bathrooms were dirty, dust on top of the toilet bowl lids. There were several dishes on the dish pile that were dirty. Had to ask for serving spoons for the buffet. When you charge $40 for bacon and eggs you should make sure the rest of the detail no matter how small are taken care of.
