Situated on the High Street of Eton, close to the River Thames and between the historic buildings of Eton College and Windsor Castle, Gilbey's is open from 12 noon for lunch and 6pm for dinner every day.
Originally an old butcher's shop, we created one of the first wine bars outside London in 1975 - The Eton Wine Bar. After 25 years of success, we changed the name in 2000 to Gilbey's, having recognised that our food had outgrown the original wine bar concept. Our friendly and efficient team look forward to welcoming you in either the stunning Conservatory Restaurant, cosy Front Bar and Townhouse, one of our newly opened Townhouse guest bedrooms or our top floor studio apartment-our exclusive guest accommodation.

Our lovely first floor Private Dining room is for parties of between 8 and 16. We also have a larger private dining room called The gallery which seats 17-34 and has it's own private, heated patio garden.The Conservatory, leading on to the Courtyard Garden is ideal for parties of 30 to 60.

Having been here numerous times and enjoyed it a great deal, I received an email to say they were closing due to retirement and so I wanted to return one last time before this happened. Never have we received such appalling service, no one smiled, no one showed us to our table. We were asked what we wanted to order before we had even been offered a drink. No one asked now our meal was or if we needed anything - for examples sauces etc. when paying no one asked how our meal was. If this was our first time coming to Gilbeys we would never have come back and that makes us very sad when we have had some lovely times here.

Great lunch with friends, food as always was delicious, such a relaxed vibe which mean my friends and `I were able to catch up. This is such an amazing restaurant, everything about it is so food: the staff, the service, the food and the vibe. Best restaurant in Eton and Windsor for sure. Thank you for great afternoon.

Gilbey's is a lovely light and airy restaurant off the high street at Eton. It has been extended and has a number of tables to suit parties of all sizes, as well as couples. However, as the restaurant covers 2-3 separate areas, as well as an outdoor seating area, it still feels intimate. The food was exceptional and provided with polite, friendly and efficient service. Lunch at Gilbey's for me was a very enjoyable event.
