Glaze Restaurant at Crowne Plaza Marlow

We had the Indian set menu, starters were ok but the Main course tasted like a microwave meal. Chicken was hard and not edible. Would not recommend.

Probably the poorest service I have ever had at a restaurant. We booked through Opentable but they had no record of the booking. We arrived on time at 7:30 and were studiously ignored for ten minutes when a flustered “manager “ appeared. He apologised took us to a nice table and asked if we wanted some drinks quickly while we perused the menu. Ten minutes later the drinks appeared! There was no a la Carte menu just a limited set menu.

Our drinks when they appeared had plastic straws, I thought all reputable establishments had replaced these with a paper equivalent?

For starters I had a very fresh and tasty salad with beetroot and a nice soft cheese, unfortunately I was not offered a roll. My partner had the Stilton and Broccoli soup advertised to be served with a roll, which did not appear! The soup was so salty it was almost undrinkable and only warm, my partner had to leave it as it was so salty and she was so thirsty.

We ordered another drink eventually as the waitress couldn’t take drink orders! and it appeared 29 minutes later! By then we had finished our mains. Mine was a chicken dhansak which was served with rice and a limp salad! Tasted ok. My partner had chicken with pomme purée and asparagus, the vegetables were good but unfortunately the chicken was tepid!

The desserts were eventually ordered, I had the fresh fruit platter which was excellent. My partner had profiteroles which were pleasant. At this juncture we were offered some water!

The bill included a service charge which I declined to pay. A totally unsatisfactory meal but it was so poor it made us laugh!

Corn fed chicken with pomme purée and asparagus was amazing could not fault it at all. Came out perfect temperature and cooked perfectly

Nice environment and excellent service. Not many choices of food available and it was ok.

Food was excellent and service prompt and efficient. Unfortunately there was a Christmas party in the conservatory attached to the restaurant so it was very noisy with the music playing. Although the staff did there best to keep the doors closed people from the party were wandering through the restaurant which was a little off putting. You can’t fault the quality and presentation of the meal though and I would eat here again.

Difficult to write a review as really mixed feeling.
Food was lovely but very small portions and really overpriced for what we ate - more than £20 for a small roast dinner is not acceptable.
The restaurant was empty when we visited which was great for us with a small child however the service was so slow. They were lovely when they did arrive but it was a good job we weren’t in a rush.
Overall I’m afraid we won’t be visiting again unless the prices are reviewed.

Having read reviews and the website this was a meal I was looking forward to, especially as it was for my wife's 50th Birthday. This was mentioned on the booking but nothing was said/done by the hotel to congratulate my wife. The food was good, but we had high hopes from reviews that it would be exceptional. Really the main let down was the slowness of the service, we seemed to get served last after every course even though we were the first guests seated.
This was a good hotel meal, but not something we will return for sadly we had high expectations.

Enjoyed my stay there celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary

We were staying at the hotel and had dinner here the first evening. You can see that the restuarant is trying hard to present interesting good food but the delivery doesnt quite match up to expectations or their desire (or their prices). Service is a bit mixed and some of the food feels a little tired and lacks flavor even when it is nicely presented. However on a different day with nicer weather for the view over the lake it could be quite good. Breakfast is served in the morning in the same restaurant and there the service was excellent with a great food choice all well prepared and very good.

Fantastic service. The food was amazing some of the best food I have tasted, I recommend the veal which was perfectly cooked and the accompanying vegetables and pistachio crumble was Devine.

Lovely staff and beautiful interiors at restaurant. Triple cooked chips were amazing and I would return just to have them again.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Marlow with my partner for the weekend. The Glaze Restaurant has a modern interior and a great ambience and the staff went out of their way to please, nothing was too much to ask for.
The only downside to the restaurant is the lack of choice where the food is concerned and, if you're staying in the hotel, they automatically add 12% gratuity to your room bill. We were unaware of this beforehand, until we were checking out of the Hotel and received our final bill.

60th Birthday celebration

Really enjoyed the meal and atmosphere in the restaurant even though not overly busy. This probably helped the service that was pitched just right, not too over-blown. The curry specials menu also offered very good value for the evening.
